The Dallas Wings changed everything about the future of their franchise when they landed former UConn Huskies star Paige Bueckers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
Just like Caitlin Clark heading to the Indiana Fever the year before, Bueckers was a clear-cut superstar before even beginning her WNBA career. She has not failed to live up to the hype during her rookie season.
Bueckers has been a dominant force all season long for the Wings. While the team has not won a lot of games, they have a true cornerstone piece to build around moving forward. She will help get Dallas back on track in the near future.

That being said, the WNBA took to social media to share a major announcement about Bueckers on Monday.
In their post, the league announced that Bueckers has been named the WNBA Rookie of the Month for the month of July.
"Paige Bueckers of the @DallasWings is your @Kia Rookie of the Month AGAIN," the post read. "Bueckers went off for 18.2 PPG, 3.2 RPG, and 5.2 APG in the month of July to earn her 2nd consecutive ROTM honors."
Throughout the course of the entire season, Bueckers has played in 23 games. She has averaged 18.5 points per game to go along with 5.5 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals, while also shooting 45.4 percent from the floor and 34.1 percent from three-point range.
As a comparison, Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game in 40 appearances as a rookie and shot 41.7 percent overall and 34.4 percent from three-point range.

Clearly, Dallas already has a superstar on its hands. Bueckers still has plenty of room to continue growing and developing her game, which is a scary thought for the rest of the league.
After such a strong showing in the month of July, the announcement was just a formality. Everyone knew that Bueckers was going to win the Rookie of the Month award.
Before too long, she will also be crowned as the WNBA Rookie of the Year barring a wild turn of events.
