MANILA: Vice President Sara Duterte has returned to the Philippines on Saturday (June 14) after her trip to Malaysia, her office said.
Duterte was in Malaysia for a 'personal trip' and joined Filipinos in an Independence Day celebration in Kuala Lumpur last Thursday.
'Vice President Sara Z. Duterte returned to the Philippines on Saturday, 14 June 2025, arriving at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) at around 5:43am via Philippine Airlines flight no. PR 530,' her office said in a bulletin.
'The Vice President is scheduled to attend the 2025 Pasidungog awarding ceremony in Davao City on Monday, 16 June 2025,' it added.
Joining Duterte at the Independence Day celebration in Malaysia's capital were Sens. Robin Padilla and Imee Marcos as well as Partido Demokratiko Pilipino officials and former senatorial bets Jimmy Bondoc, Jayvee Hinlo and Richard Mata. - Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN

Israel targeted Iran's nuclear and military sites on Friday after US President Donald Trump warned of possible 'massive conflict in the region.' Iran also fired ballistic missiles at Israel in a counter-strike on Friday. De Vega also said that the conflict has brought 'mostly psychological trauma' for some Filipinos in Israel. "Iran has no reports of injured or affected Filipinos,' De Vega added. In a Facebook post on Saturday, the Philippine Embassy in Israel reported that it extended help to a Filipino whose house was affected by missile strikes. 'They were safe from harm because they were inside the bomb shelter or mamad when the missile landed,' the post read in Filipino. Thai PM Paetongtarn says govt has no plan to send back Cambodian workers
BANGKOK (The Nation Thailand/ANN): Thailand Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Sunday confirmed that her government has no policy to deport Cambodian workers amid ongoing tensions and a border dispute between the two neighbouring countries. Paetongtarn was responding to a statement by the Cambodian government, which announced it was ready to repatriate Cambodian workers currently employed in Thailand. In a message posted on her Facebook and X (Twitter) pages, the Thai prime minister stated: 'Thailand is open to diversity. We welcome foreign workers and provide proper welfare for those who come to work lawfully. We always uphold the principles of human rights.' She added that her government had no intention of expelling foreign workers from any country. 'But if a country announces measures to recall its citizens and offers them jobs back home, it is the right of those workers to make their own decisions within the legal framework of that country,' she said. Paetongtarn has recently faced criticism from some quarters for allegedly being too soft on Cambodia, following escalating tensions that led to a skirmish in Ubon Ratchathani on May 28. Critics linked her stance to the close ties between her father, former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, and former Cambodian leader Hun Sen. However, on Sunday, Paetongtarn insisted that she prioritises the national interest. 'I reaffirm that I will not politicise bilateral relations.
