July 18 (Reuters) - JPMorgan Chase (JPM.N), opens new tab has begun publishing research notes on prominent private companies transforming industries, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters on Friday. With many industry-leading private companies delaying public listings, they are attracting a growing share of investor capital, prompting institutional investors to track them more closely at earlier stages. Companies such as ChatGPT-maker OpenAI, Elon Musk's SpaceX and TikTok-parent Bytedance now hold valuations that rival or surpass several major S&P 500 (.SPX), opens new tab firms, blurring the distinction between public and private market influence. iPhone 17 Pro could come in five brand new colors, leak suggests
There are now just two more months before the release of the next iPhone . But keen Apple fans now have a hint of what the iPhone 17 Pro might look like. If the latest rumors are to be believed, the iPhone might be even more eye-catching than ever before with five brand new colors. And, according to renders created by Apple Insider, the iPhone 17 Pro will be available in one very 'unusual' color. This bold new color is widely expected to be a striking 'fluorescent' orange, potentially marking a major change in Apple's design style. This bold new look could be released alongside the more conventional options of Dark Blue, Grey, Black, and Silver. These potential colors were suggested by veteran Apple leaker Sonny Dickson , who shared an image of the lens protection rings supposedly for the upcoming iPhone. On social media, the bold new color has divided Apple fans, with one commenter calling it 'the worst color of a phone I have ever seen.' Mr Dickson, who has a business selling framed and refurbished iPhones, suggests that the 'orange' color could be a copper or dark gold, which would be more in keeping with Apple's usual offerings for the Pro model. However, a separate leak by Macworld suggests that this will not be the case. Macworld claimed to have accessed 'an internal document with the Pantone colors used as a reference for designing and building the new iPhones'. This document reportedly gave the reference for the orange tone as color named 'TCX Papaya', which is a bright, saturated orange. If true, this would be a significant departure from the muted and metallic designs Apple has favored for the Pro and Pro Max lines in recent years. On social media, many fans greeted the news of a more colorful iPhone lineup with excitement. Apple commentator Majin Bu shared a render of what the new iPhone may look like, writing: 'iPhone 17 Pro Orange looks amazing.' 'The orange on the next iPhone Pro is kinda hot,' chimed in another. Another fan added: 'I might buy an iPhone for the first time if they launch it in orange. Just loved that color.' However, not everyone was convinced that these new designs were a step in the right direction. 'iPhone 17 Pro in orange looks very bad,' one commenter wrote. While another slammed the design as 'the ugliest color they have ever made'. Unfortunately for Apple fans, there won't be any way to know for certain what the real colors will be until the iPhone 17 is officially launched in September. MailOnline has contacted the company for comment, but Apple is staying tight-lipped about any potential design changes. However, there isn't too much longer to wait. Apple's iPhone 17 unveiling event is expected to be on Monday or Tuesday in the second week of September, broadcast live from Apple HQ in Cupertino, California. The event's digital invite – potentially hinting at the iPhone 17's design – will be sent out to members of the press and industry analysts in the weeks prior. Apple fans will reportedly have four models to choose from – the standard model, an ultra-thin iPhone 17 'Air', and the more expensive iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. iPhone 17 Air, also referred to as 'iPhone 17 Slim', is expected to be a lighter, thinner option – rivaling the Galaxy Edge recently released by Samsung . The standard iPhone 17 will have two camera lenses in a vertical alignment, one on top of the other. But the other three options will have a rectangular camera bar across the back – similar to Google's Pixel phones. It suggests Apple needs more space on the back of the phone to pack in camera components for its high-end handsets. iPhone 17 will also have an aluminum frame with a glass back, enhanced cameras, and a powerful A18 chip for advanced AI tasks.

Wife of Top Trump aide's close links to exiled Elon Musk emerge
Trump loyalist Katie Miller insists that she hasn't severed ties with her employer, former first-buddy Elon Musk amid the ongoing cat fight between the billionaire and Donald Trump. Miller, 30, followed her boss out of the White House when he stepped down from leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in May. But recently, rumors have swirled online that she has also left Musk's company, after the Tesla billionaire unfollowed her on his own platform earlier this week. The former White House communications staffer set the record straight in an interview with Reuters on Wednesday. 'My paycheck still comes from him,' Miller said, referring to Musk, while still giving no clues as to her exact position. She has previously acted as a spokeswoman for the billionaire. Miller, who's married to Trump aide Stephen Miller, appeared to stir the pot after she removed her SpaceX rocket X profile banner, in favor of a snap of Miller and her children. Eagle-eyed users also noticed that Musk unfollowed her, as well as many other MAGA figures, which further raised eyebrows. Senator Mike Lee, Rep. Nancy Mace, and Speaker Mike Johnson were also booted from Musk's following list on the same day. Miller responded to Musk's unfollowing with a cryptic, sun-drenched bikini X post declaring motherhood to be the 'best job in the world' Miller then posted a cryptic message just one day afterward, in which she announced she has 'best job in the world', referring to being a mother. Her post, accompanied by a picture of her family at the beach, laid a heavy emphasis on the importance of family, which led to further speculation she had cut ties with the billionaire. After quashing the rumors, Miller sent out a press statement for xAI, Musk's artificial-intelligence company, condemning eco-protesters in Tennessee. It was the first public communication for Musk that Miller had sent out in about two weeks, Reuters reported, which further instigated whispers among GOP staffers. Miller had worked as an adviser with Musk during his Department of Government Efficiency era in the White House, but left over a month ago alongside Musk. Her departure raised eyebrows within the White House, and her alliance with Musk has only further stirred staffers who viewed her as a Trump loyalist. While Musk and the president had a budding bromance during the honeymoon stage of Trump's second term, their relationship soured as Musk departed to the private sector. The rift between Trump and the former first-buddy descended into a public shaming war as their relationship fizzled following Musk's DOGE departure. While Musk and the president had a budding bromance during the honeymoon stage of Trump's second term, their relationship soured as Musk departed to the private sector Musk has since slammed Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill,' accused him of appearing in the Epstein Files, and endorsed his impeachment. Miller has since found herself caught between the two, as her husband continues his work in the White House as deputy chief of staff. Stephen Miller was 'deeply displeased' with Musk's attacks on the president's flagship legislation. He publicly defended the bill and blasted Musk's criticism, accusing the Congressional Budget Office of using 'accounting gimmicks' to inflate cost projections. In retaliation, Trump threatened to strip Musk of billions in federal contracts, while Steve Bannon called for his deportation. Stephen Miller, long thought to be a key Musk ally, now appears to be joining the opposition. Soon after, Musk unfollowed him, too.
