Quavo has officially announced the release of a posthumous collaboration with his late nephew and Migos groupmate, TakeOff.
The track, titled 'Dope Boy Phone,' is set to drop on May 2 and marks an emotional moment for fans still mourning the tragic loss of TakeOff. A teaser clip shared online shows Quavo in the studio methodically placing several burner phones into a tray before wrapping them up—a symbolic gesture that doubles as the song's official cover art.
TakeOff, whose real name was Kirshnik Ball, was killed in a shooting outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, on November 1, 2022. The incident occurred following a dice game that escalated into violence. At just 28 years old, TakeOff was pronounced dead at the scene. Quavo, who was present during the altercation, escaped physical harm, though two others sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to nearby hospitals.
'Dope Boy Phone' not only serves as a tribute to TakeOff's legacy but also highlights Quavo's continued efforts to honor his late nephew through music. The upcoming release is expected to blend their signature Atlanta sound with a deeper emotional resonance, reflecting both loss and loyalty. Fans of Migos and Hip-Hop alike are eagerly awaiting the track, which stands as another poignant reminder of TakeOff's talent and the deep bond he shared with Quavo.
As anticipation builds, the single is likely to stir strong emotions and further cement TakeOff's enduring influence on the genre.

Lindsay Lohan and Shailene Woodley Will Star in the New Hulu Series 'Count My Lies'

Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. The Lindsay Lohan renaissance isn't over yet. Up next, the Freakier Friday actress is set to star in the new Hulu limited series, Count My Lies, alongside Shailene Woodley. The series will be brought to you by the This Is Us showrunners, Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. Here's everything we know so far about the forthcoming show. Count My Lies is based on the 2025 novel by Sophie Stava of the same name. Stava will also produce the series. Per Variety, the official logline reads: 'When compulsive liar Sloane Caraway fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet and Jay Lockhart, it seems she's finally landed her dream job. But little does Sloane know, she's just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode—with potentially catastrophic consequences for all.' Lindsay Lohan will play Violet Lockhart and will also executive produce the series. Shailene Woodley will play Sloane Caraway and executive produce as well. Additional cast members have yet to be announced. In her summer 2025 ELLE cover story, Lohan spoke about how excited she was to take on a more dramatic role. 'I love the book,' she said. 'But when I was reading it, I had to put it down for a day because I was like, 'I'm stressed now.' But I liked that. It's going to be nice to do something different. I was talking to the writers and showrunners yesterday and told them, 'I don't know if you realize, but this is the first time where I don't have to have a romantic interest, where I don't have to kiss someone at the end of the movie.' Which is so refreshing—to not have to be that girl for once.' There isn't a release date yet, but stay tuned.

‘Love Island USA' Reunion to Show Extended Heart Rate Challenge

The Love Island USA season 7 reunion may not be hitting Peacock on August 25, but Islanders, we've got an early treat for you. Olandria Carthen, Nic Vansteenberghe, Amaya Espinal, and Bryan Arenales—aka this season's top two couples—were on the August 13 episode of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where they spilled tea about their time in the Villa and the upcoming special. Andy, who moderated the reunion alongside Ariana Madix, revealed that an extended version of the infamous heart rate challenge was shown to the islanders during the taping, which took place the night before WWHL. Oh, and according to Andy, the clip was 'revelatory to the group.' The reason? I'm guessing it had something to do with that moment between Huda Mustafa and Ace since—before the reunion—neither Olandria nor Chelley Bissainthe had seen Huda since they left the Villa. Fans of the show know that the challenge entails the islanders teasing each other in sexy costumes to get their heart rates up and win the game. This season, things took a turn when Huda got on top of Chelley's partner, Ace, during the challenge. Tension was high, and things escalated to the point that—during another challenge—Chelley, Olandria, and Cierra Ortega called Huda out for 'not being a girl's girl.' Once she and Ace were dumped from the Villa, Chelley told Variety that she 'needed space' from Huda after her moment with Ace. 'We all stand on being a 'girl's girl' and having each other's backs. At that moment, I didn't feel like that's what happened,' she told the publication, confirming that things are good between her and Huda in the aftermath. She went on to add, 'We're friends. I just needed my space from her, but now everything is good. We understand each other. Boundaries were set.' However, Amaya seemed to come to Huda's defense when she was asked if she 'took it too far' during the heart rate challenge during a July 16 appearance on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast. 'Whenever we do challenges, we really just go all in. We don't have a TV, we don't have our phones. This is our entertainment, like, okay, we're in an amusement park! Let's just go for a ride,' the season 7 winner explained. She continued, hyping up Huda in the process. 'Listen, one thing about my girl is she's a great dancer. When she shakes that booty, it's an earthquake falling through. So, you know, I believe that she really just had fun,' Amaya said. We'll have to wait for the extended cut of the challenge during Love Island USA's season 7 reunion to see how it all pans out between the girlies.

Sinéad O'Connor Biopic Is Officially in the Works

Two years after the death of Sinéad O'Connor, a biopic on the late Irish singer is in the works. According to Variety, the film will focus on O'Connor's early life and career, where she rose to an unlikely, at times controversial pop star, breaking out in 1990 when her cover of Prince's 'Nothing Compares 2 U' became a Number One hit. Kris Kristofferson Came to Her Defense Jack White, Meg White Hit Donald Trump With Lawsuit: 'This Machine Sues Fascists' Variety reports that the biopic has been in development since Kathryn Ferguson's 2022 documentary Nothing Compares. The new film will be directed by Josephine Decker (who helmed 2020's Shirley) with a script by Stacey Gregg. The Irish company ie: entertainment — who executive produced Nothing Compares — are behind the project, as well as the Irish production company Nine Daughters and See-Saw Films. O'Connor died from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma in July 2023 at the age of 56. At the time of her death, her final album was one track away from completion. According to her management company, she was also reviewing tour dates and considering a biopic, based on her 2021 memoir Rememberings. O'Connor influenced countless singers like Tori Amos, Tegan and Sara, Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, and many others. Following her death, boygenius covered 'The Parting Glass' — a Scottish and Irish traditional that Sinéad O'Connor recorded in 2002 — while Phoebe Bridgers paid tribute to her in Rolling Stone. 'She embodied what it means to be a musician and stand for something,' Bridgers told us. 'Maybe it's the internet, but in today's landscape, people are told what is kosher to believe in and they just do that or the bare minimum. She was not like that at all. She made me feel like I was allowed to stand for things. It's still hard, but I feel so lucky that I can feel validated and my beliefs are taken seriously. And that world exists because of Sinéad's sacrifice.'
