Steelers hint at new Terrible Towel, special announcement coming next week
The official Steelers Pro Shop teased that a reveal is coming, posting an image on social media of what appears to be a close-up of the 50th anniversary 2025 Terrible Towel.
Back in May, Steelers President Art Rooney II claimed a new throwback jersey was set to be revealed in July, and also hinted at a 'little celebration' for the 50th anniversary of the Terrible Towel.
The Steelers debuted the Terrible Towel on December 27, 1975, in a playoff matchup against the Baltimore Colts, and it has since become a larger-than-life symbol of Pittsburgh sports — evident by its journeys to unbelievable locations such as Mt. Everest and space.

Texas A&M is a finalist to land 2026 4-star shooting guard
New Texas A&M head basketball coach Bucky McMillan is looking to land at least three to four prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, which now includes four-star shooting guard Dakari Spear out of The Colony, Texas, who recently placed the Aggies in his top 5 program list, joining Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Texas Tech, and Syracuse. Entering his inaugural campaign, McMillan is focused on the season ahead, but is fully aware that building the program through recruiting is necessary, as opposed to simply relying on the transfer portal to replenish the roster year after year. However, even though former coach Buzz Williams is having recruiting success with Maryland ahead of his first season, the Aggies struggled to land young prospects during the majority of his six seasons. McMillan has all the makings to be the next star coach after rebuilding Samford, coupled with his prolific high school coaching career, which resulted in landing 13 players from the transfer portal, including former Southern Illinois star guard Ali Dibba. Spear is an elite scorer who shot 55% from the field during his final season at The Colony HS, averaging 23 points per game and seven rebounds. This summer, Spear played with Drive Nation on the EYBL Circuit, where he averaged 13.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game and shot 40.7% from the field. According to Rivals, Spear is the 67th-ranked prospect in the cycle, the 20th-ranked shooting guard, and the 7th-ranked prospect in Texas. Why the Broncos gave their QBs coach a game ball after Saturday's game
After defeating the Arizona Cardinals 27-7 on Saturday evening, the Denver Broncos gave a game ball to offensive pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb. Why? Webb called plays on Saturday and the second-team offense scored on four of their first five drives, and kicker Wil Lutz missed a long field goal attempt on the sixth drive just before halftime. "Davis got a game ball," Broncos coach Sean Payton said after the win. "It was his first time calling a game in an NFL game. I had thrown a couple call sheets or basically stat sheets from my first time and highlighted a few things. I said, 'See if you can beat this.' And he did.' Payton said Davis did a "really good job" with fast, efficient play-calling and a lot of energy. A key to play calling is getting the next play ready as soon as the last play was delivered, and Davis handled it well. "I thought he did a great job," Payton said. "So it's no different than a player that has a real good game. There's a confidence then like, 'I can do this at a high level.'' With his position coach calling plays, backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham went 16-of-23 passing for 240 yards with two touchdowns. Stidham gushed with praise for Webb after the game. 'I know tonight was a big deal for him," Stidham said. "If you are a coach and you want to be a play caller in this league and you get your first opportunity, it is a big deal. Honestly, I was super proud of him and super happy for him. He is an incredible coach, and he is going to be an incredible coach for a very long time in this league. I have been fortunate to be around some of the greats and Davis is amazing, and I can't speak highly enough about him. I wasn't really sure how it was going to go because we only did practice yesterday with him calling it in the headset. It was really fun to see how he flowed within the game. He has a bright future for sure.' Webb, 30, was a backup quarterback in the NFL just three seasons ago. Payton talked Webb into jumping from playing straight into coaching in 2023, and he joined Denver's staff as a quarterbacks coach. Webb is considered a very promising young coach, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him eventually become a head coach. The Broncos gave Webb a title promotion and a pay raise to keep him in 2025, but they probably won't be able to keep him for much longer. Notre Dame football ended its fall camp on Sunday, and now the next portion of the fall begins, game preparation. With the 'ending' of camp, head coach Marcus Freeman along with defensive coordinator Chris Ash and offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock each spoke with the media. They touched on multiple topics including the quarterback battle (which we are all wondering how it plays out), the scrimmage that happened today, position battles that are on-going, some seniors stepping up and more. Freeman once again showed why he is so likable, answering every question in an honest manner, and going into details on each of them as well. It's not like Ash or Denbrock didn't, but having the leader of the program being so candid, it moves down the line for his staff.
