RIP: Bafana star tragically loses mom on Mother's Day

In tragic news that came to light on Sunday, the death of the mother of Bafana Bafana striker Cassius Mailula was confirmed in a tribute shared by his club Wydad AC.
'The club stands with Cassius Mailula during this difficult time and extends heartfelt sympathies to him and his family,' read the club's message.
The tragic news came just after he had shared a special mother's day message to his mom, calling her 'my queen'.
Mailula came through the youth ranks at Mamelodi Sundowns before making a big impact for the senior team across 2022 and 2023. He then moved to Toronto FC in Canada.
After only making eight appearances for Toronto which included two goals, he then joined Wydad on a loan deal, and the 23-year-old has featured prominently for them ever since.
Mailula has earned a couple of caps for Bafana Bafana, but has not featured for the national team since 2023.

Americans reacts to Eben Etzebeth: 'Don't mess with him!'

An American basketball player has hilariously reacted to scenes of Eben Etzbeth doing what he does best on the pitch – brawling and intimidating his opponents. The highest-capped Springbok is known for being one of the 'scariest' players in the game, thanks to his fierce appearance and attitude. In a viral TikTok video, US basketball player Kolton Kohl reacted to a clip of Eben Etzebeth on the pitch. He said: 'I am looking at him and he is the BrocLesnarer of rugby…Imagine being the ref trying to talk to him!' Comparing Eben to a 'steel pole', he added: 'Don't mess with him!' @rugby_overdose American🇺🇸 reacts to Eben Etzebeth for the first time #rugby #viral #xyzbca #like #follow #bighits #tackle #worldcup #rugbyhits #bestsport #rugbyforlife #rugbyplayer #rugbyleague #rugbylife #schoolboyrugby #rugbyedits #rugbyexercise #rugbyworld #rugbyworldcup #springboks #japan #allblacksrugby #australia #england #ireland #fiji #france #2024 #2025 ♬ original sound – Rugby Overdose It's not the first time Eben Etzebeth has had grown men on the internet quivering at the sight of him. Last year, a UFC commentator labelled Eben a 'monster' after he was spotted with World Champion Dricus du Plessis. 'Who is that guy?' the man asked. Meanwhile, Eben Etzebeth will soon swap his aggressive antics for daddy duty as he prepares to welcome another baby. Last month, the lock and his wife Anlia announced that they were expecting their second child, a baby girl. Anlia – a professional singer -announced in a sweet Instagram post. The couple wed in 2023 and a year later welcomed their first daughter. Sipho Mbule's agent confirms offer to Kaizer Chiefs

Sipho Mbule's name is once again making headlines, this time as his agent, Mike Makaab, confirms that the 27-year-old midfielder has officially been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. Speaking on X (formerly Twitter), Makaab reversed an earlier stance taken in a FARPost article, where he had dismissed reports linking Mbule with a surprise move to Naturena ahead of the 2025/2026 Betway Premiership season. In a sharp clarification, Makaab stated: 'Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. It is up to the club(Kaizer Chiefs) to make the decision and we need to respect that decision.' Mbule's time at Mamelodi Sundowns has come to a premature end. Although his contract technically runs until 30 June 2025, the club decided not to activate a two-year extension clause. According to reports, ongoing concerns about his conduct away from the pitch influenced that decision. Signed in 2022 from SuperSport United, Mbule was once seen as a marquee acquisition for the Brazilians. However, his performances never quite lived up to the hype during his underwhelming stint at Chloorkop. In a bid to rediscover his form, Mbule joined Sekhukhune United on a season-long loan. Under coach Lehlohonolo Seema, he showed early promise, scoring twice and assisting three times in 17 appearances across all competitions. But his return to form was short-lived. Reports emerged that Mbule arrived at training under the influence of alcohol, reigniting the same concerns that plagued his time at Sundowns. Mbule's exit has sparked widespread discussion on social media and among Kaizer Chiefs supporters. Some fans see him as a creative spark the club desperately needs, while others warn that his off-field track record makes him too much of a gamble. Now, with his agent confirming that the ball is in Chiefs' court, the club faces a pivotal decision. Will Kaizer Chiefs take a chance on Sipho Mbule?
