Lufkin honors fallen officers at memorial service ceremony
LUFKIN, Texas (KETK) — A memorial service was held in downtown Lufkin on Thursday to honor fallen police officers in Angelina County.

The Lufkin Police Department hosted the Peace Officers Memorial Day Ceremony at the Angelina County Courthouse to honor officers who have died in the line of duty. The ceremony included a 21-gun salute, a hosting of colors and a final radio call for officers who have fallen.
'Today is just a day to remember the officers who have fallen in the line of duty, who have given their lives to service the community. To me individually, it's just a reminder that although the job becomes 'routine' at times that there are dangers to it.' Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers Executive Director J.B Smith said.

Captain Don H. Willmon from the Angelina County Reserves
Officer John E. Logan Junior from the Huntington Police Department
Officer Randall Gordon Stallard from the Central ISD Police Department
Deputy Byford H. Hunter from the Angelina County Sheriff Department
Officer Bryan Daniel Holley from the Hudson ISD Police Department

Six boating collisions were reported with one them resulting in a death at Grapevine Lake. Two drownings were reported at Red River and Elmendorf Lake along with a 5-year-old girl who was recued after being blown away on an inflatable tube at the Falcon International Reservoir, according to TPWD. Tyler PD searching for missing 81-year-old man
TYLER, Texas (KETK) — The Tyler Police Department is searching for 81-year-old Donald Harter who went missing from a Tyler residence around 8 p.m. Tuesday. Silver Alert issued for missing Gilmer 73-year-old man Tyler PD said Harter left the residence on Loop 323 in a 2005 silver Ford F-150 with the Texas license plate number: 8124DV. According to Harter's family he cannot care for himself and it is not confirmed what he was last wearing. Silver Alert issued for missing Gilmer 73-year-old man
GILMER, Texas (KETK) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a Silver Alert for Jay Paul Lindsey, 73 of Gilmer, who was last seen on May 27. Have you seen them? Texas children that have been missing, unidentified for over 45 years Lindsey is a white man with a bald head, grey facial hear, blue eyes, weighing around 167 pounds and standing at 5'8″. He was last seen in the 4000 block of FM 555 in the Sand Hill area of Gilmer at around 12 p.m. on May 27, according to DPS. The Upshur County Sheriff's Office said they believe he's driving a gray 2016 GMC Canyon four-door pick-up truck with the Texas license plate number: JSD5270.
