ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — The Escambia Bay Shellfish Harvest Area will reopen tomorrow following water quality improvements.

According to a Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services news release, the shellfish harvesting area will reopen at sunrise on June 21. Fishers can harvest oysters, clams, and mussels in the area. Scallops, shrimp, or crabs are not included.
The area is reopening after water quality tests indicated bacteria levels met National Shellfish Sanitation Program standards. It closed on June 11.
