SPOILER: WWE Hall of Famer to challenge for Women's title at Evolution 2025 after nearly twenty years
WWE
is gearing up to bring back the all-women's Premium Live Event, WWE Evolution 2025. It will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 13. Some top showdowns were added to the card on the June 30th edition of Monday Night RAW in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
WWE also taped the show for the upcoming July 4 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, which saw a huge match being confirmed for the show, that will see a WWE Hall of Famer returning to the squared circle one more time for a Women's title opportunity.
Which WWE Hall of Famer will challenge for a title at WWE Evolution?
At the tapings of the July 4th edition of WWE SmackDown, WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton came out to the ring. She addressed her potential opponent for WWE SummerSlam, Jade Cargill, who earned the opportunity by defeating Asuka in the Queen of the Ring tournament finals at Night of Champions PLE.
Stratton also stated that she intended to defend her title at WWE Evolution PLE.
This led to The Storm coming down to the ring to confront Stratton. The Center of the Universe told her she would face a different opponent at Evolution. It was none other than WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus who came out next to a huge ovation. Stratus agreed to the challenge and had an exchange with the champion.
This will be the first time Trish Stratus has challenged for the WWE Women's Championship after nearly two decades.
The last one-on-one singles title bout she competed in was back in 2006. It was her final match as a full-time in-ring competitor against her longtime rival, Lita. The duo delivered one of the top showdowns in WWE history that saw Stratus win her seventh title and retire in her hometown of Toronto, Canada.
The Diva of the Decade will once again have that opportunity against Tiffany Stratton, the same woman she teamed up with at the 2025 WWE Elimination Chamber PLE to defeat Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. However, with competitors on opposite ends now, it remains to be seen if Stratton can outlast a renowned name like Trish Stratus in one of the biggest matches of her career.

(Image via Getty Images: Vince McMahon) Once the biggest name in the world of WWE, Vince McMahon has been a controversy magnet for most of his lifetime. Not just the latest row with former employee Janet Grant, McMahon has been named in numerous other lawsuits over the years. From ex-WWE wrestler Sable filing a s*xual misconduct case against him to the multiple hush money instances that were made public in 2022, he is not lacking for legal troubles. Which is probably why many believe he is one of, if not the most controversial, bosses that are in the public eye. The Steroid scandal Back in 1994, when the WWE was still known as WWF, Vince McMahon was indicted in federal court because of a steroid controversy, which said he supplied performance-enhancing drugs to the wrestlers in his company. This led to the transfer of control of the WWF to his now ex-wife, Linda McMahon. But McMahon was acquitted of all charges by the jury due to a lack of evidentiary support. The Sable lawsuit One of the earliest instances of a lawsuit being filed against Vince McMahon was when Sable , one of the biggest stars who once graced the WWE ring, filed a s*xual misconduct lawsuit against her boss. It was a $110 million lawsuit that was filed against both McMahon and the company, WWE, for s*xual misconduct and unsafe working environment. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo But things didn't stir much, as the suit was settled out of court, and Sable returned to work once more under the WWE banner. The Rita Marie lawsuit Yet another s*xual lawsuit was filed against McMahon when a former WWF referee, Rita Chatterton aka Rita Marie, accused him of forcing her to perform oral s*x on him; and when she refused to comply, he r*ped her. This matter was also settled out of court, as the former WWE bossman said he wanted to settle to "avoid the cost of litigation." The two Tanning spa incidents In two separate instances - 2006 and 2011, Vince McMahon was accused by two separate individuals from two separate tanning salons of s*xual misconduct. The first incident was from Miami, and the second from California, but no charges were filed after the investigation. The hush-money scandal Vince McMahon was accused of paying hush money to a former WWE employee after being in a consensual relationship with them for three years back in 2022. But the case fizzled out and McMahon stated that the discrepancy in finance was due to accounting errors. The Janel Grant lawsuit Back in January of 2024, a lawsuit was filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant , where she accused her former boss, Vince McMahon, and the former WWE EVP John Laurinaitis, of s*xual misconduct and s*x trafficking charges. She said that she was used by McMahon as a barter to make people compliant with him on various occasions. Who is the Richest Wrestler in the Anoa'i Family? Roman Reigns, The Rock, or Jey Uso?
The Anoa'i family has been a staple of professional wrestling for years, giving us legendary names such as Rikishi, Umaga, The Usos, Roman Reigns, and the legendary Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now These superstars have ruled WWE storylines, headlined WrestleMania, and determined the future of the business. However, in terms of non-wrestling related financial earnings, who is the richest of them all—The Rock, Roman Reigns, or Jey Uso? The Rock's massive wealth towers over the family According to sources like CelebrityNetWorth and SI, with the return of Dwayne Johnson, The Rock went on to become one of the most bankable stars ever in Hollywood, earning over $100 million a year in blockbuster films such as Jumanji, Black Adam, and Red Notice since leaving wrestling full-time. However, a lot of his financial growth has also come from his business, according to CNBC and Fortune. As the co-founder of the billion-dollar Teremana Tequila and a big stakeholder of the United Football League (UFL) Wrestling Inc., reports that TKO Group (WWE + UFC's parent company) credited him with over 96,000 restricted stock units in 2024 as a member of its board. His Project Rock brand lines have earned hundreds of millions along with his production house, Seven Bucks Productions, which has made him a financial mover-and-shaker outside of the wrestling squared circle. How much are Roman Reigns and Jey Uso worth? According to Celebrity Net Worth and ThePlayoffs, Roman Reigns has a net worth of between $14 million and $24.5 million. Reigns, who has been dubbed "The Tribal Chief," and the face of WWE for the past nine years, is said to have a guaranteed salary of $5 million per year as well as separate earnings through merchandise sales, royalties, and appearances. Aside from his music career, he also promotes brands such as C4 Energy, Nike, Shady Rays, and WWE 2K, and appeared in a small role in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now On the other hand, Jey Uso, who became favored after his breakout from the Bloodline storyline, has a much smaller net worth. According to Celebrity Net Worth, his net worth is expected to be around $3 million in 2025. We can't ignore that the salaries for his WWE—rumored to be based $300,000+ but aided by bonuses that can reach 6-figure neighborhoods of 7 figures—and endorsements with companies like Papa John's, Slim Jim Industry, and Cash App are all checks he's cashing without even considering his drawing power. Also Read: Final verdict: Who is the richest in the Anoa'i family? Suffice it to say, and as several reputable financial and sports outlets have reported on the record, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is miles ahead of any other wrestler in the Anoa'i family. Roman Reigns and wrestling-wise Jey Uso are making terrific money, but The Rock has graduated to a whole other wealth sky of his own, via mass media entertainment, sports, business, and big brand endorsement deals. The net worth of The Rock is enough to not only give him the number one spot in the Anoa'i family tree, but also put him among the richest entertainers in the world with an empire comprising tequila, movies, apparel, and ownership in billion-dollar companies.
