The move sent him flying into the air as he went over the kerb
However, the challenge of Monaco's narrow street track posed some very different issues for the Scuderia as they endured a horror FP1.
As the 40-year-old zoomed into the iconic "piscine" section of the track, he was forced to take evasive action as traffic ahead of him almost caused catastrophe.
The Brit was forced to steer to the left to avoid a massive collision.
This saw him drive straight over the kerb of the chicane, which then sent him flying into the air.

Hamilton then miraculously managed to avoid his car crashing into the barriers but not before his car scraped along the floor.
Reacting on the team radio, he said: "Ah f*** mate, so much traffic.
"I have to box mate, I've just gone completely over the kerb mate."
Hamilton ended the session in P9, clocking a fastest lap time of 1:12.690 from 30 laps of the circuit.

Team-mate Charles Leclerc topped the session in his home race with a time of 1:11.964.
But that was not before he suffered a nightmare start that saw him go off track.

Soon after he was involved in a red flag incident as he lost the left half of his front wing after a collision with Lance Stroll.
The Aston Martin driver had let one driver go heading into the famous hairpin turn, before veering right on to the racing line where Leclerc was racing along.
The move saw Leclerc crash into the back of Stroll, who said he did not hear his team's radio call that the Monegasque was coming down.
Stroll was handed a one place grid penalty for the incident by the FIA, who additionally slapped his super licence with a penalty point.
Ahead of the weekend, Hamilton had said he was "buzzing" to race around Monaco in a Ferrari.
He said: "It's a much different track… Ferrari have generally gone well here [in the past] but as you know, Qualifying is everything and we've struggled so far this year, so we'll see.
"I've never driven this car at this track, so that will be new for me, it's a new characteristic to what I've experienced in the past.
"But it's exciting to drive for the first time a Ferrari around these streets of Monte Carlo."
Hamilton is currently P6 in the World Drivers Championship standings, nine points behind team-mate Leclerc.
McLaren pair Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are one and two in the rankings with Red Bull's Max Verstappen close behind.

Letting your dog hang out of car window & other surprising risks that could cost drivers £1,000s in fines this summer
An unrestrained dog could move suddenly, interfere with the driver's control or cause the driver to lose focus DOGGY DANGERS Letting your dog hang out of car window & other surprising risks that could cost drivers £1,000s in fines this summer Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) DRIVERS run the risk of breaking a host of little-known rules this summer - including one that could seriously punish dog owners. Motorists may be unknowingly risking fines in the thousands of pounds and serious penalty points every time they get behind the wheel. A major issue is related to unrestrained pets, something that many car owners do without knowing it breaks a serious rule. Experts say letting a dog lean out of the car window could lead to fines of up to £5,000 and 9 penalty points under Highway Code Rule 57, but only if a significant distraction contributes to an accident while driving. Indeed, a standard fine is £100 along with 3 penalty points. While it may seem harmless and even joyful, drivers are warned it could lead to serious consequences under UK law - as pets must be suitably restrained in vehicles to prevent distractions or interference with the driver's control. Their reasoning is that an unrestrained dog could move suddenly, interfere with the driver's control or cause the driver to lose focus. In the event of a collision or sudden stop, a dog could also be injured or cause further harm to passengers. What's more, police and even insurers may view this behaviour as negligent and it could lead to invalidated insurance claims. Dog owners are urged to secure their dog while allowing it some freedom of movement, maybe even by using a dog guard, while pet carriers may be used to provide a safe, enclosed space for smaller animals. Other potentially costly mistakes include wearing inappropriate sunglasses, specifically, Category 4 sunglasses which typically use very dark grey or brown lenses. While these are seen as ideal for mountainous or desert sunshine with high glare conditions, they're not suitable for driving and can obscure a driver's vision considerably. Shocking moment speeding van driver distracted by phone slams into broken-down car leaving victim with lifelong injuries Wearing the wrong sunglasses can lead to fines and penalty points, ranging from a £100 fine and 3 penalty points up to £5,000 and 9 points in serious cases, such as an accident being caused. Experts insist Category 2 or 3 sunglasses or polarised lenses, which reduce glare while maintaining visibility, should be used instead. Indeed, sun glare accidents are also a lesser-known problem for motorists and can be deemed as careless driving, resulting in fines up to £2,500 and 9 points. SUMMER FUN The UK summertime is, of course, festival season, and while many of the most well-known festivals, from Glastonbury, Parklife and Download, have already been and gone, a handful have yet to go ahead - including Reading and Leeds Festival. But those taking their cars to a festival need to be aware of parking in unsafe or unsuitable locations, such as muddy fields and how it could lead to insurance claims being refused. And overloading vehicles, including exceeding a vehicle's weight limit, can result in fines up to £2,500 or even dangerous driving charges - so maybe leave the extra-large tent at home. While enjoying the summer sun, it's important to stay hydrated - especially when you're behind the wheel. Driving while dehydrated has been found to double driving errors, increasing accident risks. Symptoms like slower reaction times, fatigue, and reduced focus can creep in, especially during long journeys in warm weather, and under UK laws can count as failing to maintain proper control of your vehicle. To stay safe, keep water within reach, take regular breaks and stay hydrated to maintain alertness and control behind the wheel - or risk fines of up to £2,500, penalty points or even a driving conviction

Daniel Dubois makes major career decision after Oleksandr Usyk defeat
Daniel Dubois with his trainer Don Charles after losing to Oleksandr Usyk Daniel Dubois has left trainer Don Charles following his stoppage defeat by Oleksandr Usyk. Dubois will now be working with former Anthony Joshua coach Tony Sims as he attempts to get his career back on track. Dubois' decision comes hot on the heels of Charles' assistant trainer Kieran Farrell announcing he would no longer be working with the former world champion. Dubois began working with Charles two years ago following a spell with Shane McGuigan, son of boxing legend Barry. Before that, Dubois had been under the tutelage of Mark Tibbs. Charles was in Dubois' corner for the three best wins of his career; against Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua. Dubois was crowned world champion following his win over Hrgovic when Usyk gave up his IBF belt. Tyson Fury makes bold Moses Itauma vs Oleksandr Usyk prediction The pair first met in 2023 when Usyk stopped the Brit in the ninth round and he improved on that performance two years later when he knocked out Dubois in the fifth session. Dubois is not expected to return to the ring his year as he plots his comeback.

Tyson Fury appears to admit Moses Itauma would beat him in hidden message
Tyson Fury has claimed Moses Itauma would "wreck" Oleksandr Usyk if the pair were to meet in the ring - but some fans believe the former world champion was also admitting he would lose to the young Brit Boxing fans are certain Tyson Fury has confessed that Moses Itauma would demolish him should they ever clash in the ring. Fury suffered back-to-back defeats to the Ukrainian fighter last year, losing his world championship crown before failing to reclaim it in their second encounter. The Gypsy King subsequently declared his retirement only to perform a U-turn and confirm his return to boxing next year. Usyk, meanwhile, proceeded to halt Daniel Dubois in the fifth round of their Wembley rematch last month, stating he intends to compete just once more before retiring. Fury took to social media at the weekend to declare that Usyk would fall to rising British star Moses Itauma, who demolished Dillian Whyte on Saturday evening, reports All Out Fighting. "I keep getting asked about young Moses Itauma fighting Oleksandr Usyk and all the other big names," Fury said in a video posted to social media. "My opinion is not someone who doesn't know boxing. My opinion is someone who has been there and won every single belt, won everything there is to win in boxing and done very well. "Boxing is a young man's game, like I told Wladimir Klitschko when he was 37. Boxing is a young man's game. It waits for nobody. So here is the opinion, and you heard it here first: Moses Itauma will wreck all them all old men out of the division. Usyk, AJ, Miller. Whoever there is that's old. Zhang, whoever else the f*** there is. Luis Ortiz. All these big names of the past. "Even the man who took my belts. Usyk, Moses will wreck him because it's a young man versus an old man. And an old man can't mess with a young man." Boxing enthusiasts were swift to respond to Fury's comments, with one remarking: "Fury's Just bitter thst usyk schooled him twice" whilst another chimed in: "Fury still furious at losing to Usyk." A further supporter commented: "Fury trying to live vicariously through Itauma because he got embarrassed twice" whilst another reckons Fury was also conceding HE would be defeated by Itauma, stating: "So he smashes you as well then, Tyson Fury, you can say it!". Itauma himself was hesitant to challenge Usyk directly, explaining: "I don't want to call out Usyk because I don't believe I deserve the opportunity – but guys that do deserve the opportunity, I want to fight those lot. So maybe Agit Kabayel, maybe Joseph Parker. Maybe them type of names. (But) as of right now, I am going to rest and then maybe be back in the gym. ".
