Darts star, 39, had ‘Barney attack' on stage and smashed trophy into ‘a thousand pieces' in rage
The 39-year-old is one of the top darts stars around.

Yet he has not added to the two European Tour titles that came earlier in his career.
Huybrecht's first triumph came at the Dutch Darts Masters in 2013.
And he followed that up two years later with success at the European Darts Grand Prix.
However, Huybrechts was unable to land a third trophy in 2016 at the International Darts Open.
He ended up losing 6-5 to Mensur Suljovic in Germany and missed NINE match darts.
He has now opened up on the brutal event, making light of fellow darts star Raymond van Barneveld while also revealed his runner-up trophy didn't make the cut.
Huybrechts told the Darts Draai Door podcast: 'That's when I had a 'Barney attack' on stage.
'We were given a trophy, of course. And naturally, I got the runner-up trophy.
'You have to do the photos first — I wasn't exactly smiling in those. I even gave a few sarcastic thumbs up to the crowd when they announced me as the runner-up.
'No middle fingers, although I really wanted to.

'After the final, I went backstage and, of course, it was a beautiful glass trophy.
'Well, it didn't survive the trip. It ended up in a thousand pieces with the camera crew.
'At the next tournament, someone turned up with a cardboard box and said, 'You forgot something in Riesa.'
"I opened it up, and inside were all the shards of the trophy.'

BBC to share football TV rights with YouTuber Mark Goldbridge
Mark Goldbridge has become the first 'content creator' to secure live rights to a major European league after his YouTube channel secured 20 Bundesliga matches this season. Manchester United fan Goldbridge, whose real name is Brent Di Cesare, is best known for his impassioned 'watch-alongs' of the club's matches over the past decade. In a landmark deal, his That's Football (1.38 million subscribers) has joined Gary Neville's The Overlap YouTube channel (1.5m) in securing a share of free-to-air Friday night Bundesliga games, along with the BBC, starting with champions Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig this week. ' That's Football will stream 20 live Bundesliga matches on Friday nights as well as creating 34 weekly shows in 25/26 – the first creator channel with official league rights,' the channel posted to its official X account. 'A landmark deal putting That's Football alongside Sky, BBC & Amazon in the Bundesliga UK strategy.' Goldbridge also wrote: 'Thanks to the community for helping us build this. We keep moving.' Live Bundesliga rights were previously held by Sky Sports, which has retained those to Saturday 5.30pm fixtures. Meanwhile, Amazon Prime will now show at least two Sunday matches each week on a pay-per-view basis at £2.49 per game. Confirming its own deal, The Overlap – which is co-hosted by Neville, Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane and Ian Wright – posted to its X account: 'Friday Nights = Bundesliga. 'Every Friday night game, all season, live & free on The Overlap. 'UK & Ireland. 'Starts This Friday: @FCBayernEN vs @RBLeipzig_EN 'Bis bald!!' BBC director of sport Alex Kay-Jelski said: 'To be able to include Bundesliga matches within our live football offering is phenomenal, especially Bayern Munich's opening game featuring England's captain Harry Kane.'

‘I got scared when I Googled it' – Former world darts champion Michael Smith fears he needs major surgery
WALKING WOUNDED Michael Smith reckons he will need a new shoulder when he finishes throwing darts because his body is 'literally packing up'. The St Helens darts star – who has slumped to 21 spot in the world rankings – is in constant pain and a fortnight ago, he was told by medics he has severe osteoarthritis in his shoulder. 2 Smith, 34, earned the title of World Champion back in 2023 after beating Michael van Gerwen in the final. Since then, he has struggled to stay at the top of the darts world due to the emergence of Luke Humphries and Luke Littler. However, the former champ is set to continue his career with the help of injections. Due to his condition, he will be left potentially needing surgery after he retires from darts. When the father-of-two went online for more information and googled the condition, he admits he got 'scared' by the diagnosis and the long-term implications. Bully Boy could ultimately require a shoulder replacement by the time he is in his mid-forties. Separate from these challenges, he has struggled to walk properly on his left foot – he has taken antibiotics and painkillers to curb the agony – and a course of steroids might be on the agenda. He told Online Darts: "I went on holiday, so it was the third one I missed. "I got my MRI back for my shoulder. I've got severe osteoarthritis or something like that—I can't even say it properly. "The next step now is injections for my shoulder and wrist. Moment Michael Smith BREAKS dartboard in anger as he issues public apology "Worst case is a shoulder replacement, which isn't great, but that would only be when I retire. For now, it's injections. "A new shoulder would be like learning to play again. I got scared when I Googled it. "I just heard arthritis, but then all the stuff before it scared me. "They mentioned cortisone for my wrist, PRP which I need too, and then shoulder replacement where they cut your rotator cuff. "That's where I panicked. But the operation won't be until I retire anyway—45, 46 maybe. For now, I'll just deal with it. Smith does not currently have a next match scheduled. He recently missed out on qualification to the World Matchplay for the first time since 2013. His last time at the oche ended in defeat as he was beaten in the first round of the Players Championship 21 by Polish ace Krzysztof Ratajski. When Smith won the world title after years of heartbreak – he beat Michael van Gerwen 7-4 in the final and hit a nine-darter – he celebrated throughout the following season, and even had a wild holiday in Las Vegas with his wife. However, his second-round defeat in December 2024 to Dutchman Kevin Doets meant he dropped £485,000 off his rankings, denying him a spot in some TV events. Smith has essentially written off the rest of this year in terms of performances but he is determined to return to form at the PDC World Darts Championship – where there is £1million on the line for the winner. On September 20, he will undergo eye laser surgery, which will mean skipping some European Tour events. He added: "This is not going to stop me. I'll be back. I don't know anything else but to play darts and to fight. "I'm a Manchester United fan. Like them, I'm a sleeping giant. I will wake up one day. "At home, when I'm practising, I'm in a good place. I feel right. Then I go to Pro Tours and just one bad game, in your head, it just goes back to square one. "My main issue now is getting everything right for December. Listen, if I win five games in the Worlds, I'm back in the top ten, it's like 200 grand. "Everyone will forget my year then. If I want to win it, which I know I've done before – I've been in the final three times – I could be back in the top three or top four. Never say never. "For me, I know I'll be back up there. It's the idiocy of when you see people's comments online. "I managed my schedule poorly when I became World Champion. I didn't do the full year as much as I should.

Lego Batman is back with an open-world Gotham and Arkham-style combat
After more than a decade away, Lego Batman is set to return to consoles in what looks to be the plastic superhero's most ambitious outing yet. Announced at the annual Gamescom expo in Cologne, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a new open-world adventure from TT Games, the veteran studio behind the beloved Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The reveal trailer gives fans a glimpse of a sprawling, blocky Gotham City that players will be able to freely explore by blasting around in the iconic Batmobile. We see the dinky Batman sliding between enemies in a flurry of combo- and counter-based attacks and executing stealth takedowns from above. It looks to have more in common with the sophisticated combat system of the revered Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight games, rather than the simpler, kid-friendly action of the Lego game series. Legacy of the Dark Knight will also include difficulty levels – a first for TT Games – further suggesting there'll be a degree of challenge for anyone who wants it. While Bats is the star of the Gamescom trailer, TT Games confirms we'll be able to play as other characters from the Batman universe, including Catwoman, Robin, Batgirl and Commissioner Gordon. As is traditional for Lego spin-off games, the trailer spoofs iconic moments from Batman's cinematic history. Bane – voiced here by Matt Berry – reprises his famous 'you merely adopted the dark' monologue, while we get appearances from the likes of Penguin and Joker. TT Games says Legacy of the Dark Knight will be an original story drawing inspiration from Batman's sprawling back catalogue of TV shows, comics, games and movies. 'Whether he's the wrathful Dark Knight, the brilliant detective, or the unlikely father of the 'Batfam,' Batman has constantly evolved – shaped by the world around him while remaining a timeless symbol,' said DC president Jim Lee. 'This game brings together nearly every facet of his legacy, letting you experience the full range of what makes Batman iconic. Built with incredible care, creativity and deep respect for the mythos, TT Games has crafted a love letter to the world of Batman.' Legacy of the Dark Knight feels like TT Games' most ambitious project yet, a complete departure from the arcade-y, level-based Lego games of old that builds upon the open-world and fully-voiced Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which launched in 2022 to critical acclaim.
