Jammu & Kashmir's ruling, regional parties start Martyrs' Day action plan
However, it remains unclear whether the administration will allow any political representatives to pay floral tributes at the Martyrs' Graveyard at Khwaja Bazar in downtown Srinagar.
The Martyrs' Day commemorates the incident where 22 Kashmiris were killed by the forces of Dogra Maharaja on July 13, 1931, in Kashmir. The day was observed as an official holiday across J&K till 2019-20. Following the abrogation of Article 370 and 35(A) and downgrading of erstwhile state of J&K into the two Union territories of J&K and Ladakh, the then LG administration dropped Martyrs' Day and the birth anniversary of NC founder Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, falling on December 5, from the holiday list.

'India like Mercedes, Pakistan dump truck': Asim Munir makes odd analogy; inadvertently admits vast gap
TOI Correspondent from Washington: Between expansive threats against India from US soil and bragging about Pakistan's oil and mineral wealth that would lift the country from a morass, Pakistan's military chief embarrassed himself and his country by inadvertently admitting where it currently stands vis-a-vis India -- in the pits. "India is shining a Mercedes coming on a highway like Ferrari, but we are a dump truck full of gravel. If the truck hits the car, who is going to be the loser?" Munir reportedly said at a Pakistani community event in Tampa, Florida. Munir's "crude analogy" as he himself put it, drew peals of laughter on social media for its description of Pakistan, with jokes about the dump truck breaking down or overturning even before it got the Merc. Munir also talked up the Pakistani diaspora -- sections of which allied to incarcerated PTI leader Imran Khan are protesting his visit -- borrowing freely from former Indian prime minister Vajpayee quote that immigrating to US is not a "brain drain but a brain gain." With strong partnerships growing with the US, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and China, and with 64% of its population being dynamic youth, Pakistan's future is bright, he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Best Method for a Flat Stomach After 50 (It's Genius!) Lulutox Undo Impoverished by decades of military spending on borrowed money and with little to offer to the world in terms of trade, Pakistan is banking on its purported oil discoveries and mineral wealth, which foreign grifters are eyeing with the promise of economic manna for the country. Pakistan's bilateral trade with US currently stands at around $ 10 billion compared to India's $ 135 billion, but Munir is pitching the country's purported oil and mineral wealth, first promised by prime minister Z.A. Bhutto 50 years ago and never realized, to win back US interest. While Munir was speaking at the ballroom of the Hyatt in Tampa, dissidents allied to Pakistan's incarcerated PTI leader protested outside. They have called for similar protests in Brussels, Belgium, where Munir is headed to on Sunday.

Incorporating green technology , the project adheres to the standards of the GRIHA 3-star rating and complies with the National Building Code (NBC) 2016, the release said. These environmentally sustainable features are expected to contribute to energy conservation, renewable energy generation, and effective waste management. The use of advanced construction technology--specifically, monolithic concrete with aluminium shuttering--enabled the timely completion of the project while ensuring structural durability. The complex is also Divyangjan-friendly , demonstrating a commitment to inclusive design. Live Events Each residential unit offers ample space for both residential and official functions. The inclusion of dedicated areas for offices, staff accommodation, and a community centre will support MPs in fulfilling their responsibilities as public representatives. From a safety perspective, all buildings within the complex are constructed to be earthquake-resistant, in accordance with modern structural design norms. A comprehensive and robust security system has been implemented to ensure the safety of all residents. The development of the project was necessitated due to a shortage of adequate housing for Members of Parliament. Owing to the limited availability of land, there has been a sustained emphasis on vertical housing developments aimed at optimising land use and minimising maintenance costs. This residential complex, situated at BKS Marg, New Delhi, offers significant locational advantages for the Members of Parliament, particularly due to its proximity to the Parliament House Complex.
