Deputies: Driver, 15, seriously hurt in Olive Township crash
OLIVE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say a 15-year-old driver suffered serious injuries in a rollover crash in Olive Township Saturday.
It happened around 5:45 p.m. at 104th Avenue and Van Buren Street, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say a 15-year-old girl from Jenison was driving south in a Kia Niro on 104th Avenue and turned onto Van Buren Street. She made a U-turn, did not obey the stop sign and went into the intersection, according to the sheriff's office.
At the same time, a 26-year-old Zeeland man was heading north in a Chevrolet Silverado. Despite trying to avoid the crash by taking 'evasive action,' he crashed into the Kia, deputies say.
Both cars rolled, ultimately stopping in a field on the northwest corner of the intersection, according to the sheriff's office.
The 15-year-old driver was pinned in and had to be extricated, deputies say. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Deputies say the other driver was not hurt, but one of his passengers suffered minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.

RAWLINS COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — A loose trailer tire slammed into two cyclists Friday afternoon along U.S. Highway 36, leaving both with serious injuries. Father disarmed son after deadly shooting

(KSNW) — Newly released court documents are shedding light on the case of a Wichita man charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his pregnant girlfriend, 20-year-old Naomi Oglesby. Matthew Criscenzo, 19, was arrested at the scene on May 25 after officers found Oglesby shot in the head inside a home on South Laura Street.
