NJ man beat, strangled pregnant wife in front of her daughter: court documents
NEW JERSEY (PIX11) — A man has been found guilty of strangling his pregnant wife in front of her daughter in Newark, N.J., the prosecutor's office of Essex County announced Friday.
Milton Chogllo, a 31-year-old from Newark, was found guilty by a jury of second- and third-degree aggravated assault, according to court documents.

According to an investigation on March 5, 2023, Chogllo strangled and beat his 32-year-old wife outside their home on Bergen Street. At the time of the assault, the victim was six months pregnant, authorities said.
The woman's 14-year-old daughter witnessed the assault, police said.
'Justice for victims of domestic violence is not just about punishment — it's about protection, dignity, and the unwavering message that abuse will never be tolerated,' said Assistant Prosecutor Ventola.
Chogllo is scheduled for sentencing on July 18, 2025.
The victim's daughter provided crucial testimony during the trial against Chogllo, officials said.

Udall neighbors rattled after park restrooms set on fire — twice
UDALL, Kan. (KSNW) — You could smell it before you saw it — the charred remains of the city park restrooms, torched and melted from the inside out. Udall Police Chief Erik King is calling it arson and says it's unlike anything he's dealt with in town before. The damage is estimated at around $10,000. Loose tire injures two highway cyclists near Atwood 'This is where the trash can was right here in this corner,' King told KSN. 'Melted the alarms, melted the drains, melted the light switches.' Police say it happened Thursday around 4:30 in the afternoon. Then, just hours later, it happened again. 'The same person returned and, at about 8:40 at night, lit the boy's bathroom on fire, and that caused significant damage,' King said. 'It was on fire for 20 minutes before the alarm company notified us.' He says the timing couldn't be worse, with the Fourth of July just around the corner. Neighbors say the smoke drew their attention before they knew what was happening. 'I was doing yardwork and I had the boys, and a lady from out of town came up to the fence and asked if I had seen a person walking around,' said Skylar Kistler, who lives next to the park. That's when she noticed the smoke coming from the bathroom. 'It kind of made us, I guess, feel protective, like a little more protective, like kind of upset that anybody would do that,' she said. Her husband Tylor says the damage is personal. 'I've lived here my whole life, so it's kind of nice to have a park like this with a splashpad, and you know everything here for the boys right in our backyard, and it's just kind of bad. This is a good building, and it's terrible,' he said. Chief King says the person believed to be responsible has been arrested and is currently being held in juvenile detention. Rapid City man gets 25-years for dealing meth
RAPID CITY, SD (KELO) — A federal judge on Friday sentenced a Rapid City man, tied to a Mexican drug cartel, to 25-years in prison. 38-year-old Guillermo Calderon pleaded guilty in March to Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance. Prosecutors say Calderon was the leader of the conspiracy that trafficked significant amounts of methamphetamine to Rapid City and Pine Ridge from Mexican cartel operatives. Father disarmed son after deadly shooting
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Newly released court documents are shedding light on the case of a Wichita man charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his pregnant girlfriend, 20-year-old Naomi Oglesby. Matthew Criscenzo, 19, was arrested at the scene on May 25 after officers found Oglesby shot in the head inside a home on South Laura Street. According to an affidavit made public this week, Criscenzo made multiple unsolicited statements to officers while in custody, saying he 'shot her,' 'didn't want her to go,' and 'didn't think [his] finger was on the trigger.' Here's how to report damage Oglesby, who was 37 weeks pregnant, was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead minutes after her baby girl was delivered via emergency C-section. He told police he found Naomi on the ground and Matthew holding a gun. He took the weapon away and placed it on the front porch before emergency responders arrived.
