Leon joined from Cerro Porteño in Paraguay, where he played 33 senior games.
The full back 'will be supported by our first team and the academy whilst he settles into life in Manchester,' United said.
The move is subject to Leon securing registration.

Euro 2025: Norway's Graham Hansen overcomes Finland with late goal in 2-1 win
SION, Switzerland (AP) — Norway did it again at the Women's European Championship on Sunday with another 2-1 win, this time over impressive Finland after being outshined for much of the game. Caroline Graham Hansen provided the class Norway often lacked, deciding the game in the 84th minute with a cross that turned into a shot ending in the Finland net off a post. Norway's Barcelona forward had forced an own-goal from Finland defender Eva Nyström in the third minute after excellent play on the right wing. Oona Sevenius deservedly leveled for Finland in the 32nd, showing fine balance to direct a rising left-foot shot from 16 yards (meters). Finland's tidy play had impressed more than Norway's more star-studded lineup for much of the game, just as Switzerland did in the first half of Norway's opening 2-1 win four days earlier. Norway now sits atop Group A with six points. Host Switzerland plays Iceland later Sunday in a clash of two teams which lost their opener at Euro 2025. Norway will go to the quarterfinals as Group A winner if Iceland does not beat Switzerland. Guardians outfielder Lane Thomas on 10-day IL with right foot injury
CLEVELAND (AP) — Guardians outfielder Lane Thomas was placed on the 10-day injured list because of plantar fasciitis in his right foot Sunday before Cleveland faced the Detroit Tigers. The move is retroactive to Saturday. Infielder Will Wilson was recalled from Triple-A Columbus Thomas also missed 11 games in late May and early June because of plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Manager Stephen Vogt said before the game that next week's All-Star break should hopefully also give Thomas plenty of time to rest up for the second half of the season. 'With eight days until the break, we're not in a position to play short right now and wait day to day. And we want to give this the 13-14 days that we have from now until we come out of the end of the break to really try and knock it out.' Thomas hit a grand slam in last year's fifth and deciding game of the American League Division Series against Detroit, but his tenure in Cleveland has been mostly frustrating. Since being acquired at the trade deadline last year from Washington, Thomas has a .189 batting average in 92 games. This season, Thomas is batting .160 and .197 (13 for 66) since coming off the injured list on June 9. Thomas also missed five weeks because of a right wrist bone bruise after getting hit by a pitch during the April 8 home opener against the Chicago White Sox. 'It's been a frustrating year for Lane. We feel it with him. It's not at all what we want for him. Not at all what he wants,' Vogt said. 'So hopefully with this break we're able to really get this thing under control so that we can get the best version of Lane.' Tour de France: Van der Poel holds off Pogačar to win rainy stage 2
BOULOGNE-SUR-MER, France (AP) — Dutch cyclist Mathieu van der Poel won the hilly second stage of the Tour de France on Sunday after holding off defending champion Tadej Pogačar and two-time winner Jonas Vingegaard in a sprint to the line. Van der Poel took the race leader's yellow jersey from his Alpecin–Deceuninck teammate Jasper Philipsen in a second career stage victory on the Tour. Neither rider is considered an overall contender. Stage 2 was delayed by about 15 minutes after team buses arrived late to their parking spots because of heavy morning rain. Fans lined the roads wearing raincoats and riders wore light rain jackets amid wet and blustery conditions on the slightly hilly 209-kilometer (130-mile) trek from Lauwin-Planque to Boulogne-sur-Mer in northern France. The longest trek of this year's race featured about 4 kilometers of climbing suited to allrounders like the three-time Paris-Roubaix classic winner Van der Poel and former Cyclo-cross star Wout van Aert. Greasy roads increased the risk of spills and, after about 45 kilometers, Yevgeniy Fedorov and Andreas Leknessund both fell. They were able to continue as the weather dried out but it stayed windy, leading to a couple more minor crashes. A strong headwind greeted riders approaching the finish as they took on the day's three consecutive climbs — short and sharp but very modest ones compared to the giant Alpine and Pyrenean ascents later in the three-week race. None of the main Tour contenders could launch a decisive attack, although Vingegaard tried with 5 kilometers left. Instead, it was Van der Poel — nicknamed 'The Flying Dutchman' — who surged clear and then withstood Pogačar's late burst, having also beaten the Slovenian star at Paris-Roubaix in April. He crossed the line in 4 hours, 45 minutes, 41 seconds with Pogačar in second place and Vingegaard in third recording the same time.
