Blackpink's Jennie Makes Radio History In America
Jennie's new single 'Handlebars' debuts at No. 40 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, making her just ... More the third female K-pop soloist to hit the U.S.-based radio ranking. The past several months have been busy on the Billboard charts for the women who make up the girl group Blackpink. All four singers have released music on their own, and each of them has made history in one way or another – and some of them continue to do so.
Jennie is the latest talent from the K-pop outfit to manage a special feat on the American rankings this week. As her new single 'Handlebars' makes its way to radio in the U.S., Jennie manages something she's never done before on her own and joins some familiar faces in doing so.
'Handlebars,' Jennie's latest focus track, debuts on the Adult Pop Airplay chart this week. The tune opens at No. 40, beginning its run on the tally in last place, but still earning a very important spot. The single, which features Dua Lipa, marks Jennie's first appearance on the Billboard ranking, which measures the most successful tracks on U.S. radio stations that cater to a slightly older audience at pop stations.
As 'Handlebars' arrives, Jennie becomes only the third female K-pop soloist (any solo artist known primarily for their work in the K-pop genre) to land on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. She follows in the footsteps of her Blackpink bandmates Rosé and Lisa, who have already managed this same accomplishment. In fact, both of them has now placed two different tracks on the list.
This frame is particularly packed with K-pop stars, because three of the four singers in Blackpink appear on the Adult Pop Airplay chart at the same time. As Jennie starts at No. 40 with 'Handlebars,' Rosé's 'Apt.' keeps at its all-time peak of No. 5. Meanwhile, Lisa's 'Born Again,' a collaboration with Doja Cat and Raye, lifts from No. 40 to No. 38, reaching its high point.
Rosé and Lisa both have experience on the Adult Pop Airplay ranking, and their previous singles have also performed well. Coincidentally, both singers initially peaked at the same spot.
Lisa's 'Moonlit Floor' reached as high as No. 38 and held on for six weeks. Rosé's 'Toxic Till the End' spent just three frames on the tally earlier this year, also climbing to No. 38 before falling away – all while 'Apt.' was still going strong, and even climbing.
When looking at all K-pop soloists, Jennie becomes just the fourth to place on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. BTS's Jung Kook leads this select group with three entries.
Jung Kook has cracked the top 10 once, with 'Left and Right,' a duet with Charlie Puth, which soared to No. 9. His solo single 'Seven,' which features rapper Lotto, climbed to No. 19 in 2023, and he returned to the ranking with 'Too Much,' a joint effort with The Kid Laroi and Central Cee, which rose to No. 22.

'Ordinary,' the 1,181st No. 1 in the Hot 100's 66-year history, rose to the top of both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts in May. On the Hot 100, Warren charted one prior entry, 'Burning Down' (No. 69 peak, last October). Concurrent with the coronation of 'Ordinary,' he adds his second top 40 Hot 100 hit, as 'Bloodline,' with Jelly Roll, debuts at No. 32. Before concentrating on music full-time, Warren grew a following in Hype House, a group of TikTok content creators that frequently collaborated. He signed to Atlantic Records in 2022. 'In my career, I have been so open with my friends who follow me,' Warren, who co-authored 'Ordinary,' told Billboard earlier this year. 'They know everything about me and we're so connected, and I love that. I'm thinking of these people while I'm writing these songs, because I'm thinking about what I would want to hear if I was still going through that.' Browse the full rundown of this week's top 10 below. The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. 'Ordinary' tallied 21 million official streams (down 1% week-over-week), 43.5 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 15%) and 8,000 sold (up 24%) in the United States May 23-29. Boosting its profile, Warren performed the song on the American Music Awards, broadcast on CBS, May 26. The track rebounds 3-1 for a fifth week atop the Digital Song Sales chart and 6-4 on Streaming Songs, after four weeks at the summit. It reaches the top five on Radio Songs (7-5), as it becomes Warren's first No. 1 on a Billboard airplay chart, rising to the top of Adult Pop Airplay. Warren's 'Ordinary' is the first 'ordinary'-titled Hot 100 No. 1. Here's a look at all 10 not-so-'ordinary'-named songs that have hit the chart: 'Ordinary,' Alex Warren, No. 1 peak (one week to date), 2025 'Ordinary World,' Duran Duran, No. 3, 1993 'Ordinary People,' John Legend, No. 24, 2005 'No Ordinary Love,' Sade, No. 28, 1993 'Ordinary Day,' Vanessa Carlton, No. 30, 2002 'Ordinary Life,' Chad Brock, No. 39, 1999 'Ordinary Things,' Ariana Grande feat. Titles have taken an average of 10.2 weeks to hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 so far in 2025, the most of any year this decade, with one music industry professional theorizing that, currently, 'the whole nature of artist development takes time.' Avg. SZA, meanwhile, ranks third with 21 weeks atop Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs with 'Kill Bill' in 2022-23. Morgan Wallen's 'What I Want,' featuring Tate McRae, dips to No. 2 on the Hot 100, a week after it soared in as Wallen's fourth No. 1 and McRae's first. It claims a second week atop the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart. Wallen follows on the Hot 100 with the No. 2-peaking 'Just in Case' (2-3) and 'I'm the Problem' (3-4), as I'm the Problem, the parent set of all three songs, secures a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Shaboozey's 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' rebounds 9-6 on the Hot 100, following its record-tying 19 weeks at No. 1 beginning last July, and Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' 'Die With a Smile' dips 6-7 following five weeks at No. 1 beginning in January. Teddy Swims' 'Lose Control,' which led the Hot 100 for a week in March 2024, and became the year's No. 1 song, climbs 11-8. It posts a record-extending 63rd week in the top 10 and a record-padding 93rd week on the chart overall. Drake's 'Nokia' rises 12-9 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 2. Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10, Benson Boone's 'Beautiful Things' bumps 14-10, after peaking at No. 2. It adds a 70th week on the survey, becoming just the 10th title ever to reach the milestone. What Is a BB Cream? All About K-Beauty's Favorite Foundation Alternative
You won't always find yourself in the mood to wear foundation, which is why a BB cream is the perfect alternative—and if you just asked 'what is a BB cream?' the short answer is that it's a light coverage complexion product that was popularized by the K-beauty scene in South Korea. BB creams are like the younger, hipper cousins of foundation: They're used to accomplish something similar (evening out complexion), only the formula is lighter and has added skin-care benefits, like helping to hydrate your skin while also offering sun protection. Read ahead to find out everything else you need to know about BB creams, including how to apply them and why you might consider wearing one. What is a BB cream? According to makeup artist Todd Harris, the 'BB' in BB cream stands for 'blemish balm' or 'beauty balm,' and the product is sort of a do-it-all formula that's 'essentially a hybrid between a moisturizer, primer, and foundation.' These offer light-to-medium coverage with added benefits like hydration, sun protection, and the prevention of skin damage from free radicals and environmental factors. Of course, these aren't to be confused with foundation; foundations are a lot more pigment-based, and they give the skin more coverage, so you should opt for that if a heavier look is what you're going for. These days, you can find dozens of foundation formulas with skin-healthy additives like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, though there are plenty of traditional formulas that still don't have many skin-care benefits, which is where a BB cream might come in handy. Why would someone use a BB cream? 'BB creams help improve skin tone and texture by providing sheer coverage on acne, blemishes, or problem areas without looking heavy,' explains celebrity makeup artist Christian Briceno. Because these are so lightweight, they're more natural-looking than heavier foundations since they're less likely to sit on top of the skin and potentially clog pores. Briceno says BB creams are also much easier and faster to apply than foundation, which makes them a great option for anyone looking for a quick, fuss-free way to add some light color to their skin while also actively treating it with good-for-you ingredients like SPF and antioxidants. That said, the inclusion of skin care ingredients in most beauty balms doesn't mean that a BB cream can or should take the place of more traditional products in your routine, like serums, moisturizers, and sunscreen. Per Briceno, these are meant to give your skin a radiant finish after your skin has already been washed, prepped, and moisturized. What is the difference between a BB cream and a CC cream? While they have similar names, BB and CC creams have two different goals. For example, the 'CC' in CC cream stands for 'color correcting,' and as Briceno notes, they're used to neutralize skin concerns like discoloration, redness, and hyperpigmentation to make them appear less visible.
