Blackpink's Jennie reenters Billboard Hot 100
Jennie of Blackpink returned to Billboard's Hot 100 at No. 96 with 'Like Jennie,' on the back of her successful solo debut at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Jennie performed the single as the highlight of her two-date gig at the festival, which featured Lisa in the lineup and Rose in the audience. The track debuted on the singles chart at No. 83 in March, joining two B-side tracks from her first solo studio album -- 'ExtraL (feat. Doechii)' and 'Handlebars (feat. Dua Lipa)' which ranked No. 80 and No. 99, respectively. This made her the first-ever K-pop female musician to have three songs on the chart in the same week. "Like Jennie" fronted her album 'Ruby' which rose seven rungs to No. 81 on the Billboard 200 after hitting it at No. 7. Separately, Jennie will resume her group activities and prepare for Blackpink's world tour, slated to kick off in July.

Blackpink's Jennie Makes Radio History In America
Jennie's new single 'Handlebars' debuts at No. 40 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, making her just ... More the third female K-pop soloist to hit the U.S.-based radio ranking. PARIS, FRANCE - OCTOBER 03: Jennie Kim of Blackpink attends the Chanel Womenswear Spring/Summer 2024 show as part of Paris Fashion Week on October 03, 2023 in Paris, France. (Photo by Foc Kan/WireImage) The past several months have been busy on the Billboard charts for the women who make up the girl group Blackpink. All four singers have released music on their own, and each of them has made history in one way or another – and some of them continue to do so. Jennie is the latest talent from the K-pop outfit to manage a special feat on the American rankings this week. As her new single 'Handlebars' makes its way to radio in the U.S., Jennie manages something she's never done before on her own and joins some familiar faces in doing so. 'Handlebars,' Jennie's latest focus track, debuts on the Adult Pop Airplay chart this week. The tune opens at No. 40, beginning its run on the tally in last place, but still earning a very important spot. The single, which features Dua Lipa, marks Jennie's first appearance on the Billboard ranking, which measures the most successful tracks on U.S. radio stations that cater to a slightly older audience at pop stations. As 'Handlebars' arrives, Jennie becomes only the third female K-pop soloist (any solo artist known primarily for their work in the K-pop genre) to land on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. She follows in the footsteps of her Blackpink bandmates Rosé and Lisa, who have already managed this same accomplishment. In fact, both of them has now placed two different tracks on the list. This frame is particularly packed with K-pop stars, because three of the four singers in Blackpink appear on the Adult Pop Airplay chart at the same time. As Jennie starts at No. 40 with 'Handlebars,' Rosé's 'Apt.' keeps at its all-time peak of No. 5. Meanwhile, Lisa's 'Born Again,' a collaboration with Doja Cat and Raye, lifts from No. 40 to No. 38, reaching its high point. Rosé and Lisa both have experience on the Adult Pop Airplay ranking, and their previous singles have also performed well. Coincidentally, both singers initially peaked at the same spot. Lisa's 'Moonlit Floor' reached as high as No. 38 and held on for six weeks. Rosé's 'Toxic Till the End' spent just three frames on the tally earlier this year, also climbing to No. 38 before falling away – all while 'Apt.' was still going strong, and even climbing. When looking at all K-pop soloists, Jennie becomes just the fourth to place on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. BTS's Jung Kook leads this select group with three entries. Jung Kook has cracked the top 10 once, with 'Left and Right,' a duet with Charlie Puth, which soared to No. 9. His solo single 'Seven,' which features rapper Lotto, climbed to No. 19 in 2023, and he returned to the ranking with 'Too Much,' a joint effort with The Kid Laroi and Central Cee, which rose to No. 22.

Jennie Matches BTS Stars Jimin And V On The Hot 100
Jennie continues to regularly make history on the Billboard charts, not just as a member of one of the biggest girl groups on the planet, but now as a solo star in her own right. The Blackpink singer is back on the Hot 100 this week with a pair of brand new tracks, and thanks to their immediate popularity, she advances to a rare position among K-pop artists who have managed to reach the competitive American tally. This week, Jennie sees two tracks from her debut solo album Ruby debut on the Hot 100. "Handlebars," a duet with Dua Lipa, opens at No. 80, while "Like Jennie" isn't far behind, kicking off its run at No. 83. These latest wins bring her career total to six entries on the list of the most-consumed songs in the U.S., which is enough to place her among the most successful K-pop acts to ever reach the chart. Before "Handlebars" and "Like Jennie" arrived, Jennie was tied with Suga, one of the beloved members of BTS, on the list of K-pop artists with the most Hot 100 appearances. Now, she pushes ahead of solo stars like Lisa, Psy, and NewJeans, and moves into a tie with J-Hope, Jimin, and V — three of her fellow K-pop heavyweights who also boast six charting singles on the Hot 100. Among soloists, Jennie now shares the second-most hits of all time, behind only Jung Kook. Only BTS, with 27 smashes, and her own group Blackpink, with nine, have managed more appearances on the tally. Jennie isn't the only K-pop soloist making big moves on the list of the most popualr songs in the U.S. this week. BTS singer and rapper J-Hope also reaches the six-hit milestone, as his new cut "Sweet Dreams," a collaboration with Miguel, launches at No. 66 on the Hot 100. Jennie first landed on the Hot 100 in late 2023 with "One of the Girls," a collaboration with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp. That cut rose as high as No. 51, and stayed on the list for an impressive 20 weeks. While she shared that track with two other artists, the rest of her solo Hot 100 wins have been hers alone — and they all come from her debut full-length, Ruby. The highest-charting song from the collection is "ExtraL," a team-up with Doechii that once rose as high as No. 75. Now, with "Handlebars" and "Like Jennie" arriving, all five of her solo Hot 100 hits can be found on her debut project. The two other tunes from Ruby that charted — "Love Hangover" with Dominic Fike (No. 96) and "Mantra" (No. 98) — only spent a short time in the lower rungs of the ranking.
