Report: The Latest On TNA's New Media Rights Deal And How It Relates To WWE & AEW
It sounds like TNA Wrestling is closing in on a new media rights deal for iMPACT, and WWE is reportedly playing a big factor in the negotiations. TNA President Carlos Silva continues to tease a new media rights deal for iMPACT in recent months, and we now have a lot more information on what we can expect. According to Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated, TNA is deep in negotiations for their new rights deal with the hopes of having something in place by October to coincide with Bound For Glory. As far as where TNA iMPACT will land, Alba states that the company has been in discussions of moving to a WWE-affiliated network. Not only that, he suggests they are open to moving iMPACT to Wednesday nights to go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite. Alba was also able to confirm there is legitimate interest from The CW in acquiring iMPACT. Although it was not indicated that's where they will end up. Could TNA iMPACT wind up on NBCU instead? On the flipside, Andrew Baydala took to social media following the release of this report to state his belief that TNA iMPACT will end up on a NBCU property, tweeting out: 'I've been banging this drum for months- I fully believe TNA will be on an NBCU property weekly. I also know that there is considerable discussion surrounding TNA being on cable, with a timeslot of either 8 PM-10 PM ET or 9 PM-11 PM ET on Wednesday nights. #TNA #WWE #AEW,' Andrew Baydala said in a post. Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available. READ MORE: Report: WWE's Mindset Behind Placing Main Roster PLEs Against AEW PPVs What do you make of this report? Fan-Favorite WWE Tag Team Set To Reunite For One More Match
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. For the first time in over a decade, one of the most decorated and influential tag teams in wrestling history has officially reunited. On the August 13th episode of AEW Dynamite, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage joined forces once again, and their first match back has been set for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. The emotional reunion is the culmination of months of storyline teases. The two lifelong friends, who were recently feuding with each other, have now come together to fight a common enemy. The Reunion The main event segment of Dynamite saw Adam Copeland defeat Stokely Hathaway. After the match, Copeland was brutally attacked by FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler). As FTR was setting up for another attack, Christian Cage's music hit, and he stormed the ring with a spiked piece of wood to make the save. After chasing off FTR and his own former protégé, Nick Wayne, Cage stood face-to-face with Copeland. He then handed the weapon to his old friend, and the two embraced in the center of the ring to a massive ovation from the Chicago crowd. Christian Cage and Adam Copeland hugged it out! ALL OF THE FEELS!! #AEWDynamite — Fightful Wrestling (@Fightful) August 14, 2025 It was then announced that Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will team up for the first time since 2011. EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY - AUGUST 03: Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin of the Tag Team Motor City Machine Guns enter the ring before the WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs Tag Team Championship match during the WWE 2025 SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium on August 03, 2025 in East Rutherford, New Jersey More A Legendary Partnership Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, known for decades as Edge and Christian, are one of the most iconic tag teams of all time. The childhood friends are seven-time WWE World Tag Team Champions. Alongside The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz, they revolutionized tag team wrestling in the Attitude Era with the creation of the legendary Tables, Ladders, and Chairs (TLC) matches. After both men went on to have separate, Hall of Fame-worthy singles careers, they found themselves in AEW together in recent years. This led to a brief but personal feud against each other, which makes their reunion to fight a common enemy in FTR—the team that brutally injured Copeland earlier this year—all the more impactful. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match A Stacked Forbidden Door Card The historic reunion match is another major addition to an already loaded card for the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event. The show will also feature "Hangman" Adam Page defending the AEW World Championship against MJF. The event will also see Japanese legend Hiroshi Tanahashi compete in his final UK match, a ten-man Lights Out Steel Cage match. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
