Nothing Phone (3) listed by Walmart ahead of launch
Nothing Phone (3) is the highly anticipated successor to 2023's Phone (2) and it's expected to launch next month. This year will be different as the phone will be available in the US and Canada with full support for AT&T and T-Mobile 4G and 5G bands.
The latest development ahead of the Phone (3) launch is a listing on the Walmart Business page. The image in the listing is sadly just a placeholder Phone (2) while most of the specs are just copy-pasted from the Phone (3a) Pro.

The only difference is that the device is listed with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage which could signal a new top RAM and storage configuration. The baseline model is expected to feature 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
Phone (3) is rumored to start at $799 for the 12/256GB trim and go up to $899 for the 16/512GB version. That's flagship territory and would make the Phone (3) the most expensive device from the brand to date and a direct competitor to the flagships from Google, Samsung and Apple.

As per the latest teasers, Phone (3) is expected to bring "premium materials", "major performance upgrades", and "software that really levels things up". It won't feature the signature Glyph LED interface but rumors suggest that Nothing may bring a new dot-matrix display on the back of the device, similar to Asus ROG Phone lineup.

Nearly all Indian iPhone models shipped Stateside, Apple lobbies airport authorities
*Image credit — Bloomberg Almost all of the iPhone 16 models exported by Foxconn from India between the months of March and May went to the United States. To help speed matters along and prevent any unnecessary hurdles, Apple has also reportedly lobbied the airport authorities in the country to cut down the time spent in iPhone models from India instead of China was Apple's way of dodging the high tariff rates applied to the latter. The demand for iPhone models in the U.S. is so high that 97 percent of all exported phones have been sent further contextualize this increase in demand, this year has seen $4.4 billion worth of iPhone shipments from India to the U.S. in just five months. The entirety of 2024 only saw $3.7 billion worth of iPhone exports from India headed to the has also allegedly lobbied the airport authorities at Chennai airport, leading to a waiting time of only six hours in customs compared to the usual 30. All of this extra effort has been to avoid tariffs on China, which is something that might not matter anyway, as the U.S. president has told Tim Cook to move production to the States. iPhone 16 models in the U.S. are now mostly imported from India. | Video credit — Apple The entire tariff ordeal has been a pain in the neck for Apple, which flew in iPhone models into the country before the new rates went into effect. Despite all of this, the company is still considering raising iPhone 17 costs as industrywide uncertainty threatens supply chain shortages and price hikes. Apple is not the only company being affected by all of this. While Samsung — Apple's largest smartphone competitor in the U.S. — had moved production out of China years ago, it's still facing the consequences of the tariffs. The countries where Samsung manufactures its phones, like the Galaxy S25 series, have also had new tariffs applied, albeit less than China. Furthermore, technology advancements have driven costs up so much that Samsung is considering Chinese suppliers for its OLED displays. Apple seems to have found a loophole for now, but I don't think it's going to last unless President Trump rethinks his tariff strategy entirely.

Google reschedules that exclusive Pixel 10 Superfans event , and it's not clear why
Referential image of the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. | Image credit — PhoneArena Google has canceled a previously announced Pixel Superfans event that was expected to offer an early look at the upcoming Pixel 10. The event was originally scheduled for late June, well ahead of the phone's expected August launch. The change has raised questions about whether the Pixel 10 launch timeline has also been affected. As previously reported, the event was planned as an exclusive preview for select fans, something Google doesn't often do. The early timing sparked speculation that the company might be moving up its launch schedule. However, multiple reports have since confirmed that Google is still aiming for a mid-to-late August release for the Pixel 10 series. Now, Google has started notifying invitees that the original event has been canceled due to "unforeseen circumstances." In its place, the company is offering a new opportunity: an invitation to a "Pixel Superfans Insider Event" set for September 4. By then, the new phones are expected to already be available to the public, removing the original appeal of an early preview. The cancellation notice reads: — Google to Superfans group The canceled event, referred to as the "Pixel Penthouse," was meant to offer hands-on time with upcoming Google hardware, likely including the Pixel 10 . While Google hasn't given a specific reason for pulling the event, it's possible the change is due to internal scheduling or logistical challenges. What's unclear is whether this decision reflects any changes to the Pixel 10 rollout. There's been no official word suggesting a delay, and for now, the expected August launch window still stands. Even so, this last-minute cancellation could indicate that Google's plans are still shifting behind the scenes. Events like these are typically used to build early excitement and engagement among brand loyalists. Losing that opportunity, even temporarily, might take some of the wind out of the company's momentum. However, the September event still offers a chance for Superfans to connect with the Pixel team, albeit after the product has already launched. So far, the Pixel 10 remains one of the most anticipated Android releases this year. With Apple and Samsung making aggressive moves in AI and imaging, Google will need a strong and timely launch to stay competitive. Hopefully, this canceled preview is just a scheduling hiccup and not a sign of deeper issues.
