Family of 7 launches GoFundMe after losing Ledgeview home in fire
A GoFundMe is in place for a family in Ledgeview who lost their house in a fire Aug. 13. The Loseys' house burned down in the 3900 block of Agatha Christie Avenue in Ledgeview. Firefighters responded around 9 p.m. Aug. 13. No one was inside at the time of the fire or was injured in the fire, according to the Ledgeview Fire Department. Madison Losey set up a GoFundMe to help raise money for her family. In just a day, the fundraiser already raised over $50,000 by the morning of Aug. 15. The goal is to reach $60,000. "It was a total loss of everything," Losey said on the GoFundMe page. "We only walked out with the clothes on our back." The cause of the fire and estimated worth of damage is still under investigation, the fire department said Aug. 15. The money from the fundraiser would go towards clothing, food, and housing. The GoFundMe also includes information about donating clothes to the family and how to contact the family for dropoff.
