Bhumi Pednekar opens up on botox and fillers debate; says 'To each their own'; opens up on fitness
isn't one to shy away from conversations that stir public opinion.
Speaking to News18 Showsha at a recent event in New Delhi, the actress addressed the ongoing chatter around cosmetic procedures like botox and fillers — a topic she herself has been dragged into following her appearance in The Royals.
Asked how she felt about the scrutiny, Bhumi responded. 'We live in a time where people should make their own choices,' she said. 'I am nobody to have any kind of judgment on what people want to do. I also feel that this is being discussed way too much.' Her words reflect a sentiment of acceptance, steering the conversation away from criticism and toward individual agency.
Fitness, ghee, and the power of balance
Bhumi also shared her approach to fitness and wellness, a topic she remains passionate about.
'It is my way of being,' she said simply. This emphasizes that health is a core part of her lifestyle.
While many might fear fats, Bhumi revealed her diet includes a generous helping of ghee. 'People get very scared of fat but I have it in my diet. The only difference is, I do not cook in ghee; I consume it raw. Put it on your rotis or idlis — it is very beneficial for your health,' she explained. The actress was in the capital for a Skechers event, where the community spirit was strong: 'People in Delhi have come together and run one thousand kilometres collectively.
Skechers, in return, is going to give 100 pairs of shoes to The Kutumb Foundation. It is so lovely,' she added.
From royal romance to gritty policing
After playing the fiercely independent Sophia in romantic dramedy 'The Royals', Bhumi is set for a tonal shift with 'Daldal', a gritty web series where she plays a police officer.

Panchayat Actor Sanvikaa Looks Drop-Dead Gorgeous In Saree, Deep-Kohled Eyes
Last Updated: Actor Sanvikaa, known as Rinki from Panchayat, shared stunning saree photos on Instagram, leaving the Internet ablaze. Actor Sanvikaa, fondly known as Rinki from Panchayat by her fans, has dropped a series of photos, looking stunning in sarees. The actor's Instagram profile is a healthy mix of her private life and work diaries. However, it was her pictures in a saree that were 'lowkey" beautiful. Sanvikaa set the Internet ablaze in a white saree with a red border and a tasselled embroidered blouse to complement the simplicity of her six yards. However, it was her makeup that truly stood out; especially her brown eyes. To accentuate it, Sanvikaa opted for deep-kohled smokey eye look with plum lips. Her hair fell into her shoulder like waves while she struck one pose after the other, leaving fans stunned by her new look. 'Desi, dazzling & lowkey dramatic," wrote Sanvikaa while sharing her photos. Take a look: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sanvikaa ( Pooja Singh) (@iamsanvikaa) Taking to the comment box, some responded with GIFs featuring Jitendra Kumar, her Panchayat co-star. Others wrote, 'Rinki ji on fire", 'Always my fav", 'Desi, divine and dangerously gorgeous", 'Simply Elegant", 'Looking very simply pretty", 'Most gorgeous actress", 'This Nazakat has spellbound", 'Beautiful eyes", 'Khoobsurat Rinky jii", and others. During the release of Panchayat 4, Sanvikaa exclusively spoke to News18 Showsha about her camaraderie with Jitendra Kumar, who plays Sachiv ji on the show. Talking about her much-discussed on-screen chemistry with Jitendra, Sanvikaa says it's something they never consciously worked on — and that's what makes it click. 'I think it's a very unsaid chemistry. It's a very give and take equation. We don't even talk much — just basic conversations, like 'how are you doing'. We don't rehearse too much, just align on set before a scene, and if something feels off during a take, we adjust then and there. It's very organic, not prepared. For me, it just feels naturally okay," she told us. She also praised Jitendra as a co-star who made her feel at ease on set despite her being relatively new. 'He's amazing. Very supportive. He never made me feel I was working for the first time or that he has done so much work already. He never dominated, treated me with a lot of respect, and created a calm, supportive environment for me to perform. That's why our understanding shows on screen," she added. Next, Sanvikaa is gearing up for the shoot of Panchayat 5. First Published: August 04, 2025, 20:11 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Dibyendu Bhattacharya Predicts Love Story Trend Boom After Saiyaara: 'Formula-Oriented Industry'
Dibyendu Bhattacharya critiques Bollywood's formulaic success, foreseeing more love stories post Saiyaara's hit. He also admitted being a practical 'yes-man' sometimes. Actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya, who is also a part of Anushka Sharma's Chakda Xpress, has seen enough of the industry to know exactly how it responds to success. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, he spoke about how the film industry abides by certain formulas for a hit. Citing the example of recently released Saiyaara featuring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, Dibyendu predicted that Bollywood will now witness a flood of similar stories. 'This is a formula-oriented industry," he said. 'When one thing works, everyone follows it. I can guarantee this – now that Saiyaara has become a hit, there's going to be a mad rush among people to make love stories. Because that's what happens here. After Lagaan, there were 50 scripts about rural cricket. After Dil Chahta Hai, everyone started writing stories about four or five friends." He also observed how the industry's current lack of storytelling diversity limits both creators and viewers. 'Right now, it's all about horror, ghost stories, and sometimes comedy that feels too forced or even boring. You wonder—why are we laughing at such random things?" Dibyendu says his acting process is human, not technical Despite being a trained actor from the National School of Drama, Dibyendu's approach to acting is intuitive rather than theoretical. 'I know all the theory —Grotowski, Natyashastra, Stanislavski. But ultimately, acting has to be human and heartfelt. If a character doesn't touch your heart, you can't connect with it." He believes emotional honesty is key. 'I keep my eyes wide open in life. Every person is important because every personality is a unique human being. That's how I build my characters. Even in Jamtara, the guy I played didn't know right from wrong. His seniors were doing shady things, so he followed suit. There are many people like that – docile, grey, not black or white." His deep interest in people, even those he doesn't like, drives his performances. 'If I dislike someone, I ask myself why. What is it about them that bothers me? That's how you build nuance," the actor said. Dibyendu admits he is sometimes an 'yes-man' man person Dibyendu admits he's not always selective about roles, and that's not necessarily a flaw. 'I'm a yes-man. When someone comes to me with a character, whether it's a newcomer or a successful director, I always say yes first. Then I look at the story, then at my role. I ask, is this character important? If you remove it, will the story still stand?" But the decision is also practical. 'I'm not a part-time actor. I'm a professional. I run my household with this work. Sometimes I've gone a whole year without work. I'd cook, read, listen to CDs, watch TV. But you need money to survive. So I did small shows and films just to get by," he says. He acknowledges that saying yes hasn't always paid off. 'There have been projects I've regretted, sure. But that's also part of the journey. Our industry is like an ocean – so many things happen. You survive, that's the goal." Dibyendu says when he works very hard, but there are also moments of doing nothing Dibyendu says he brings full energy to every set he's on. 'When I work, I work. Ask any director or co-actor, they'll tell you. It's a full-on party. I enjoy the process, order food, crack jokes. But when it's time to prep, I isolate myself. I memorise my lines, get into the zone. And after shoot? I'm back to being with everyone, laughing." And when there's no work? 'I can sit in one place all day doing nothing – just staring at a tree. I love that kind of stillness. It's bliss," Dibyendu concludes and signs off. view comments First Published: August 04, 2025, 19:20 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Mrunal Thakur Says Son Of Sardaar 2 Reviews Are 'Misleading', Urges Fans To Judge Film Themselves
Last Updated: Mrunal Thakur called the reviews of Son Of Sardaar 2 'misleading' and urged fans to watch the film and decide for themselves. Mrunal Thakur is currently busy promoting her film Son of Sardaar 2, which was recently released in theatres. While the actress has been sharing happy reviews from the audience, the critics have given the film mixed reactions. Now, in her recent tweet, Mrunal has called the reviews misleading. Last night, Mrunal Thakur took to her X account and asked a fan, 'What are your Sunday plans?" Reacting to it, one user wrote, 'The way the reviews are on Instagram and YouTube, I don't even feel like watching it (Son of Sardaar 2) anymore." Responding to this, the actress quickly said, 'Most of the reviews are misleading… I would appreciate it if you decide how you like it, sir." Earlier today, Mrunal put out a reel revealing a ritual she follows after the release of her films. The actress took to her Instagram and shared a reel showing her enjoying Son of Sardaar 2 inside the theatre with the regular audience. While sharing the reel, she wrote, 'Ever since Sita Ramam, I've held on to this little ritual of watching the film in theatres with all of you. Because truly, the real magic happens when I hear your laughter, your cheers, your love echo through the halls." 'There's no bigger reward for our hard work than feeling your energy live in that moment. Go catch SOS 2 in theatres if you haven't already. And I hope it leaves you smiling, laughing, and feeling just a little more full-hearted," she further added. News18 Showsha rated the film 3 out of 5 stars. A part of their review reads: 'With all said and done, Son of Sardaar 2 is a decent watch that you can think of watching at the theatres near you with your family. Though the film tries to give a message at the end, go with a mindset to watch some pure slapstick comedy that doesn't require you to apply your mind and logic. Lastly, be ready to be surprised by a small announcement in the end, and no, it's not Son of Sardaar 3." The film also stars the late Mukul Dev, marking his posthumous release. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film features a powerhouse cast including Ajay Devgn, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Mrunal Thakur, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Vindu Dara Singh, Roshni Walia, Sharat Saxena, and Sahil Mehta.
