SHOPPING for a new smartphone? Black Friday is the ideal time to score savings on Apple's latest device. Whether you're eyeing an upgrade or treating a loved one to a new piece of tech, this is your go-to guide for this year's best iPhone 16 Black Friday deals. 1 Black Friday is a fantastic time to hunt for a new iPhone as retailers love to cash in on the sale, slashing prices throughout the month. Unfortunately, Apple's usually not one of them, but that doesn't mean you won't find plenty of marked-down devices when the November sale rolls around. If you're hoping to save on an iPhone 16, you'll need to shop elsewhere, which is where we come in. We'll be tracking the best Black Friday deals as they drop, so make sure to bookmark this page and keep checking back closer to the sale. In the meantime, read on to learn more about Black Friday 2025. When is Black Friday 2025? November 28, 2025, is the date to know, but you can expect deals to land earlier in the month, with the best reserved for the big day. The sale always falls on the day after Thanksgiving, as per the American tradition. But while it may have begun over in the States, Black Friday has snowballed into one of the biggest events across the world, including in the UK. If you're interested in learning more, check out our guide to the meaning behind Black Friday. Is Apple taking part in Black Friday this year? Apple doesn't tend to discount its tech, and the brand doesn't join in Black Friday shenanigans. So third-party retailers are your best bet, and often where you'll find the biggest discounts on Apple products during the sale period. The likes of Argos, Amazon, John Lewis, and Currys will almost certainly have offers to jump on, as well as mobile phone network providers. We'll handle the hard work for you by updating this page with the best discounts as soon as they drop. So, keep checking back to snap up a bargain. What to expect from the iPhone 16 Black Friday sale 2025 This year, we're expecting UK retailers to treat tech fans to deals on a range of iPhone models, including the iPhone 16. While the iPhone 16 might see some deals, the newest models typically don't experience major price drops in their first year. So, if you're shopping with savings in mind and you're not fussed about having the absolute latest features, it's a smart idea to search for deals on older models like the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone 15 will continue to be supported by Apple until at least 2028. What was in the iPhone 15 sale last year? In 2024, we saw a bunch of amazing deals on Apple's iPhone 15, and things will likely follow a similar blueprint for the iPhone 16 this year. For a taste of what you can expect on SIM-free and pay-monthly deals across the retailers, here are a few of our favourite offers from last year: iPhone 15 Apple iPhone 15, 128GB, £678 (was £699) from Amazon - buy here Apple iPhone 15, 128GB, £679 (was £699) from John Lewis - buy here Apple iPhone 15, 128GB, £678 (was £799) from Very - buy here Apple iPhone 15, 100GB, £38/month from Sky - buy here Apple iPhone 15, 150GB, £50/month (£25 upfront) from Three - buy here Apple iPhone 15, 100GB 500GB, £36.99/month (£9 upfront) from - buy here Apple iPhone 15, 25GB 60GB, £39.55/month (£20 upfront) from GiffGaff - buy here iPhone 15 Plus Apple iPhone 15 Plus, 128GG, £779 (was £899) from Very - buy here Apple iPhone 15 Plus, 128GB, £779 (was £793.61) from John Lewis - buy here Apple iPhone 15 Plus, 128 GB, £779 (was £799) from Amazon - buy here Apple iPhone 15 Plus, 128GB, £779 (was £799) from AO - buy here Apple iPhone 15 Plus, 100GB, £42/month from Sky - buy here Apple iPhone 15 Plus, 150GB, £58.75/month (£35 upfront) from Three - buy here Apple iPhone 15, 50GB 100GB, £58/month (£25 upfront) from - buy here Apple iPhone 15 Plus, 25GB 60GB, £43.92/month (£25 upfront) from GiffGaff - buy here iPhone 15 Pro Apple iPhone 15 Pro, 512GB, £1,149 (was £1,219) from Amazon - buy here Apple iPhone 15 Pro, 150GB, £63.25/month (£35 upfront) from Three - buy here iPhone 15 Pro Max Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, 256GB, £1,049 (was £1,119) from Amazon - buy here Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, 256GB, £1,049 (was £1,099) from John Lewis - buy here Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, 150GB, £71.13/month (£55 upfront) from Three - buy here When is Cyber Monday 2025 and is Apple taking part? This year, Cyber Monday takes place on Monday, December 1. Back when Black Friday was a bigger brick-and-mortar event, Cyber Monday had been reserved for an exclusive online-only event. These days, things have moved on, and the day is more of an extension to the month-long event, with pretty similar deals across the board. That's not to say there are no surprises, but where iPhones are concerned, the deals will only last as long as the stock does, so with hot ticket items like this, it pays to snag them early. While Apple doesn't typically offer direct discounts on its products for Cyber Monday, plenty of other retailers do. We've listed several UK iPhone 16 retailers below, so make sure to check them out. How much does Apple's shipping cost? Apple offers free standard shipping for all online orders in the UK. That said, if you're shopping for a bargain, you likely won't be shopping there. So, the shipping costs will vary from retailer to retailer. To avoid any surprises, check your chosen retailer's shipping costs before checking out. Does Apple offer any other discounts? If you are shopping with Apple directly, there are a few types of discounts offered. First there are its education discounts for students, teachers, and educational staff, available through its education store. This typically includes savings on Macs, iPads, and accessories, along with free Apple Music subscriptions and discounts on AppleCare. There's also a trade-in programme that allows you to trade in eligible devices for credit toward a new purchase or an Apple Store Gift Card. Plus, you can check out the certified refurbished products page, which features discounted items that have been tested and come with a full warranty, often making them a cost-effective option. For more information on refurbished devices, visit our refurbished tech guide. Which retailers have the best Black Friday iPhone 16 deals in the UK? Seeing as Apple is one of the most well-known brands worldwide, all major network providers in the UK will be selling the smartphone. If, on the other hand, you're just looking for the device without a SIM, you can also expect to find it on major retailer sites. If you want to land yourself the best deal possible, make sure you have a look at the sites below. Visit our tech Black Friday deals hub to shop more of the best discounts from the top brands.

Paramount to become exclusive US home for UFC in $7.7 billion streaming deal

Aug 11 (Reuters) - Skydance-owned Paramount will become the exclusive U.S. home of Ultimate Fighting Championship under a seven-year streaming deal valued at about $7.7 billion, the first major strategic move by the newly merged media giant under new CEO David Ellison. Starting next year, Paramount+ will carry the complete U.S. slate of 13 numbered UFC events and 30 Fight Nights. UFC, owned by TKO Group Holdings (TKO.N), opens new tab, will also have select numbered cards simulcast on Paramount's CBS broadcast network, the companies announced on Monday. The deal builds on Ellison's commitment to increase investment in high-quality exclusive content, which he had called the "single biggest driver of subscriber growth". Sports content, especially rights to live events, has become the cornerstone of media strategy, as cord-cutting accelerates, with rivals such as Netflix (NFLX.O), opens new tab and Disney (DIS.N), opens new tab also striking similar deals to strengthen their offerings. Netflix secured a $5 billion, 10-year global deal for WWE Raw from 2025 and added two NFL Christmas Day games. Disney's ESPN extended rights with NFL, NHL, MLB and College Football Playoff, and plans a joint sports streaming venture with Warner Bros Discovery (WBD.O), opens new tab and Fox. "The addition of UFC's year-round must-watch events to our platforms is a major win," Ellison said, calling UFC a "global sports powerhouse". The company will pay an average of $1.1 billion a year and include events at no extra cost to subscribers, shifting away from UFC's traditional pay-per-view model. It also said it may seek UFC rights in other markets as they come up for bidding. UFC stages about 43 live events a year, reaching roughly 100 million U.S. fans and nearly 950 million households globally. Its slate includes marquee numbered card events like UFC 300, weekly Fight Nights, and reality shows like "The Ultimate Fighter" and "Dana White's Contender Series". Paramount Global and Skydance Media completed their $8.4 billion merger last week and appointed Ellison as CEO, capping a drawn-out deal process marked by political scrutiny and shareholder concerns.

Intel CEO to visit White House on Monday, source says

Aug 11 (Reuters) - Intel (INTC.O), opens new tab CEO Lip-Bu Tan was due to visit the White House on Monday after U.S. President Donald Trump called for his removal last week, a source familiar with the matter said. Intel and the White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Tan is expected to have an extensive conversation with Trump while looking to explain his personal and professional background, according to the Wall Street Journal, which broke the news, adding that he could propose ways Intel and the U.S. government could work together, the paper said. Tan hopes to win Trump's approval by showing his commitment to the U.S. and guaranteeing the importance of keeping Intel's manufacturing capabilities as a national security issue, the Journal added. Last week, Trump demanded the immediate resignation of Tan, calling him "highly conflicted" due to his ties to Chinese firms and raising doubts about plans to turn around the struggling American chip icon. It was a rare instance of a U.S. president publicly calling for a CEO's ouster and sparked debate among investors. Tan said he shared the president's commitment to advancing U.S. national and economic security. Reuters reported exclusively in April that Tan invested at least $200 million in hundreds of Chinese advanced manufacturing and chip firms, some of which were linked to the Chinese military. Tan, a Malaysian-born Chinese American business executive, was also the CEO of Cadence Design (CDNS.O), opens new tab from 2008 through December 2021, during which time the chip design software maker sold products to a Chinese military university believed to be involved in simulating nuclear explosions. Last month, Cadence agreed to plead guilty and pay more than $140 million to resolve the U.S. charges over the sales, which Reuters first reported.
