MARTA Five Points Station construction: Entrances, offices, restrooms to close
MARTA says several offices, three of the station's entrances and all restrooms will close by the end of the day.

The following offices will close at 5 p.m. and be relocated to another station: lost and found, reduced fare, RideStore, MARTA Police Precinct and MARTA HOPE.
The restrooms and the entrances at Alabama Street, Broad Street Plaza and Peachtree Street will also close at the end of service. The Forsyth Street entrance will remain open.
In addition to the restrooms, MARTA customers won't have access to the MARTA market, StationSoccer and tunnel to the Atlanta federal building.
MARTA says rail service and transfers will not be impacted by Friday's changes.
While the precinct will move to the Ashby Station, MARTA police will continue to patrol the Five Points Station.

Brazil will host the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2027, becoming the first South American nation to do so. During the June 24-July 25 tournament, all eyes will be on their prolific forward Marta, a six-time FIFA Women's Player of the Year, who will be 41 years old at the time of the tournament. Although Marta initially announced her international retirement last year after their silver medal achievement at the Paris Olympics, she made a comeback for the national team in May this year and is part of their ongoing Copa America Femenina campaign. No longer feeling the weight of pressure to prove herself, Marta says she wants to enjoy every moment of playing the sport, taking it one day at a time. 'I don't know whether I'll still be playing in 2027 or whether I'll be fit. It's too early to say that I'm definitely going to play. I still have a very strong desire to be a mother,' Marta told Brazilian media Globo's Esporte Espetacular TV program on Sunday. 'So, I might wake up one day and decide to call my doctor to see if it's still possible. If it is, then bye, I have to go.' However, she is yet to win a World Cup, coming closest in Brazil's runner-up finish at the 2007 edition in China. Marta, who became the first player in world football to score in five World Cups during the 2019 tournament, added that regardless of her participation in the 32-team tournament, she hopes for her country to host a memorable World Cup. "I hope that Brazil can uphold its tradition of throwing a beautiful party, enjoying the moment and welcoming people warmly. This competition is unique for our continent and South America,' the 39-year-old said. Spain will be the defending world champions in 2027, having sealed their maiden title by beating England in the final at the 2023 edition, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. Marta's last World Cup appearance came in the 2023 edition, where she did not register a goal or an assist as the Brazilians were knocked out in the group stage. Currently playing the 2026 Copa America Femenina with Brazil, Marta expects the team to lift their record-extending ninth title. The Brazilians have won six of the tournament's last seven editions. 'Brazil is the favorite, and we know it,' Marta said. 'We know our responsibility to bring home the title. But it's no use just being the favorite if you don't perform and make things happen on the pitch.' Brazil started their title defense with a 2-0 victory over Venezuela in Group B on Sunday. The 10-team competition is being held in Ecuador from July 11 to August 25.

Beyoncé in Atlanta: How to get last-minute tickets
The moment for which you relinquished hundreds (or thousands) of dollars, splurged on the perfect outfit and memorized all of the songs has finally arrived in Atlanta. Why it matters: Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour stop in Atlanta will occur over four days — Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday — at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The latest: Ticketmaster shows seats are still available for Thursday, starting at $67.95 with an obstructed view. Tickets for Friday, Sunday and Monday all start at or above $100. Driving the news: Beyhive members from all over the world will descend onto Atlanta over the weekend, which likely means traffic around the stadium will be a bit chaotic. To that end, take MARTA or book a ride-share service. If you insist on driving, you can check out parking options at Mercedes-Benz Stadium or other available parking spots around the stadium. Wardrobe: If you're still undecided on your fit or can't find that one accessory that will make your look pop, Goodwill may be your best last-minute bet. The nonprofit in May launched its Cowboy Goodwill fashion pop-ups, featuring curated Western wear, denim and other items. Merch: What's a concert without great swag? If you got a ticket to see the show, you will be able to buy merch at dozens of locations inside, according to Mercedes-Benz Stadium's Instagram page. Outdoor merch sites are located across from Gates 1 and 2 and are available to the public even if you don't have a concert ticket. These will open at 2pm on show days, with the Gate 2 area staying open after the show. Gate 2 will also open from noon to 6pm Saturday. 535 miles of trails could one day crisscross Atlanta
Atlanta now has a clear blueprint for building hundreds of miles of trails connecting all corners of the city. Why it matters: The 535-mile Trails ATL plan — the city's first trails master plan in more than 30 years — prioritizes new ways to travel seamlessly and safely from neighborhood to neighborhood without a car. Zoom in: The 186-page plan calls for creating greenways — park-like trails along waterways or through forest areas — and protected lanes for bicyclists, pedestrians and wheelchair users across Atlanta. Several projects like the Valley of the Hawks Trail and Emerald Greenway would create new ways to travel under MARTA tracks and interstates. The Whitewater Greenway would run along the Chattahoochee River and connect to the Lovett School. Smaller projects, like a small spur connecting to the Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail, could have a big impact in terms of connections. By the numbers: According to the plan, 37% of Atlanta residents have access to an "all-ages, all-abilities" trail within a 10-minute walk or wheelchair ride. Officials say the proposed trails and connections in the plan could boost that to roughly 95% by 2052. Reality check: Plans without funding fit nicely on a shelf. Building out the vision will require dedicated funding, political will and constituent support, Rebecca Serna, the executive director of Propel ATL, told Axios. What's next: The plan's $252 million, 35-mile first phase calls for greenways and protected street trails in neighborhoods including Lakewood Heights, South Atlanta and Buckhead, plus a new trail system throughout southwest Atlanta communities. Phases 2 and 3 would construct more than 380 miles of new trails. 🚴 Thomas' thought bubble: I've been burned on city plans in the past but as a bicyclist I'm holding out hope these projects come to fruition. We've built a pretty brutal city to move around if you're not in an automobile; these projects give people a new way to travel.
