A STRANDED tourist has been trapped inside an active volcano for three days following a horror hiking plunge - with rescue teams desperately rushing to save her.

The young woman, who works as a publicist and pole dancer, reportedly screamed as she lost her footing on the treacherous 12,200ft-tall volcano.
She took a terrifying plunge off the edge overlooking the volcano's famous crater lake in the morning of June 21.
Shocking drone footage showed stranded Juliana sitting in a hellish volcano pit, appearing out of energy and desperate for help.
She is said to have rolled nearly 1,000ft down the slope before coming to a stop in a rocky ravine on the Indonesian island of Lombok.
Juliana, from Rio de Janeiro, was spotted by passing tourists after they heard her harrowing screams for help.
She was lying on the ground alive, but was unable to climb back up the hazardous slopes.
Authorities are still battling to reach her and pull her to safety.
Spokesman for the East Lombok Police Nikolas Osman explained that Juliana was part of a group heading to the summit of Rinjani on the way to the Cemara Tunggal area.
He said: "The victim experienced fatigue and the guide at that time advised her to rest.
"Then the five guests in the tour group were taken by the guide to continue the journey."
Flight 'red alert' issued & tsunami fears as giant 10-mile-high ash cloud soars from Mount Lewotobi volcano eruption
He continued: "However, by the time he returned to fetch her, the Brazilian woman was already missing."
A rescue team was dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 2:32pm local time.
The head of the Mount Rinjani National Park Office, said: "The team has descended 300 metres but we have not reached the victim.
"We tried to call out to her but there was no response."
Gruelling rescue efforts on Sunday morning were plagued by cold and extremely foggy conditions.
The Mount Rinjani head also said that the stranded hiker had moved since she initially fell.
He said: "At 10:00 WITA, visual information from the drone showed that the victim was no longer at the previous point."
Officials confirmed the search was continuing on Monday.
More drones have been deployed to help the search - while dozens of rescuers rappelled down the volcano to cover ground towards Lake Segara Anak.

The search has been plagued by fog and bad weather
Juliana's sister, Mariana Marins, hit back at fake news reports that her sibling had been safely rescued.
She said: "We received, with great concern and apprehension, information that the rescue team took food, water and warm clothing to Juliana.
"This is not true."
The heartbroken sister added: "The information we have is that so far they have not been able to reach her, because the rescue ropes were not long enough, in addition to the low visibility.
"All the videos that were made are lies, including the one of the rescue arriving at her.
"The video was forged to look like that, along with this message associated with it."
She made a devastating revelation, saying: "We even celebrated. It was a shock to find out that it was a lie."
The Brazilian Foreign Ministry said that their embassy in Jakarta had sent representatives to monitor the rescue.
Juliana had been on a solo trip across Asia since February.
Before the terrifying fall, she had previously visited Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines, documenting her journey on her social media.

Greece's smallest inhabited island has peaceful harbour town, extremely quiet beaches and even sea turtles

Plus, a Greece expert reveals the lesser-known islands for holidaymakers SEA IT Greece's smallest inhabited island has peaceful harbour town, extremely quiet beaches and even sea turtles Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IF you want to avoid the Greek crowds and a more intimate experience, then you should try one of the country's smallest islands. While Halki still has the classic colourful buildings and traditional tavernas, it has a quieter feel than its neighbour, Rhodes. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 6 Halki, or Chalki, is an island two hours away from Rhodes Credit: Alamy 6 Halki is not for party-goers but suits people seeking a laid back holiday Credit: Alamy Halki, also spelled as Chalki, is the smallest inhabited island in Greece. It's part of the Dodecanese archipelago and is home to around 330 residents. Most of them live in the main town and port of Halki island, called Nimporio, also known as Emporio. The beautiful town is full of colourful houses with terracotta roofs and small tavernas and cafes. The town curves around the harbour where the small boats dock and because of that, there are plenty of places to sit and take in the view with a glass of Greek wine and food. For anyone looking for a party island, this is not the one for you. Halki is known for being peaceful so, except for swimming in the calm beaches, don't expect much to do. There is a medieval castle that sits on top of a huge and rocky hill above Chorio village - which is largely abandoned. The 14th century castle was built to protect the island from pirates - now you can go for a hike up to the ruins. Popular beaches include Kania Beach, Potamos Beach, Ftenagia Beach and Trachia Beach. Another wrote on Tripadvisor: "It is our favourite spot to swim. The sea is turquoise and shimmers in the light." The beaches are relatively quiet as the island sees around 1,500 to 1,700 visitors each summer - compared to Rhodes who recorded over 3.5 million visitors last year. Halki has impressive bell tower that hovers high into the sky is the tallest of any found in the Dodecanese Islands. The water is clear and great for snorkelling to spot various types of fish - even dolphins and sea turtles if you're lucky. 6 The beaches are great for swimming and snorkelling To get to the island, travellers will need to fly to Athens, then to Rhodes, then take a two hour ferry. Ferry tickets from Rhodes to Halki can be found for as low as £4 when booked in advance, with the average ticket costing around £6. There are good options to stay on the island with some Airbnb apartments that look over the harbour starting from £71 per night. One Greece expert has revealed the other islands that are better value than Santorini. She said: "If you really want good value, go to the islands that a lot of tourists don't even know about like Sifnos, Syros, Pserimos, Folegandros." And the Greek island with 70 beaches that experts warn you should see before it gets too popular. This Greek Island Is Becoming More Popular Too One Greek island is becoming more well-known and is set to rival the likes of Santorini... A new study has named the island of Paros as a trending destination for this year. American Express Travel included the island in their 2025 Trending Destinations list. Analysing travel bookings as well as working with global travel consultants, the island was one of the few European destinations to make the list. The website states: "Laid-back Paros has become the Greek island of choice for many. The cultural scene is vibrant here, and the rocky coastline is studded with beaches, secluded coves, and sea caves. "A mere 40-minute flight from Athens—or three hours on a ferry—this windblown retreat is also easy to get to." Around 200,000 people visit a year - just 10 per cent of the annual tourists that go to Santorini. This means you can expect the island to be much quieter, and off-the-beaten track. The town of Naoussa is the second largest town on the island and has been called a "smaller version of Mykonos". Expect amazing seafood when there too, with most of it caught at fresh before being served up.

Forget the war, what about my glam holiday! Brit influencers complain after Iran-Israel crisis sparks travel chaos

Social media users even vented their frustration towards airports and airliners - despite the whole situation kicking off with Iran's blitz on a US base in Qatar. The resulting airspace closure meant that thousands of travellers were left stranded in the capital, while many others had connecting flights disrupted and some even had their planes diverted mid-air. Doha's Hamad International Airport stayed shut down for eight hours from Monday evening, prompting airlines to quickly cancel flights. It reopened in the early hours of Tuesday - but with international routes already interrupted the disruption is taking its time to resolve. Beth Hassan, a running and lifetyle influencer, detailed how her flight to Doha from Sydney had been cancelled early on Tuesday. She said: "I'm so stressed - there's been no information given. "I've tried to contact the airline but can't get through on the phone or email so don't know what to do." She said that she would be going to the airport to figure out how she could speak to someone and get to Doha. The Brit traveller said: "I'm really stressed, somebody help!" Another user named Codalley described his experience stuck in Doha's airport while laying on the floor with his belongings due to the US attacks. Major UK airport warns of flight delays after being hit by 'ongoing IT issue' as passengers urged to check journeys He said: "Stuck in Doha airport, 34km away from the airbase that was just bombed. "Airspace and airport shut down." Another Brit with the username Clodagh7 said that she had been unable to leave Brisbane. She said: "Apparently Doha airport is just chockablock, so I'm going back to Brisbane now." Meanwhile, other influencers from elsewhere in the world made similar complaints. Beauty influencer Maddie Wilcox detailed how she woke up on board her flight from India to Doha to the sound of an announcement. The crew were telling her and fellow passengers that their plane was diverting - with just two hours remaining until they were supposed to reach their destination. She was told the sudden diversion was due to missiles being fired at Qatar's capital. 9 Sine had their flights diverted mid-air Credit: TikTok/bymadeline_makeup 9 Some were stuck in Doha airport, less than 40km away from the US military base in Doha Credit: TikTok/codyalley 9 Missiles being intercepted by air defence systems above Doha Qatar Airways said on X about the cancelled flights: "Our focus at this time is to help our passengers return home or reach their onward journey safely and smoothly. "We've deployed extra ground staff at Hamad International Airport to support you as we resume operations." Flights were diverted to a variety of alternative destinations amid the missile salvos, including Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai World Central, Jeddah Muscat, Medina and Riyadh. Several planes departing from Heathrow and West Midlands Airport even u-turned mid-air and returned home or were cancelled. It comes after flights to holiday hotspots were cancelled following Donald Trump's bombing raid on Iran. Loud explosions were heard in Doha while bright flashes could also be seen lighting up the night sky as air defence systems worked to intercept the missiles. All the Iranian missiles were shot down, and no casualties were reported. Following the Iranian attack, Trump posted on Truth Social saying he hopes "Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region". The president wrote: "Iran has officially responded to our Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered. "I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done. Most importantly, they've gotten it all out of their 'system'. "Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same." 9 Iranian missiles had been launched at the Al Udeid airbase which lies less than 20 miles away from Doha
