Huawei Consumer Cloud Services signed two MoUs with the Middle Eastern music streaming platform Anghami and the Arabic news platform Nabd, during the 2025 Huawei Developer Conference. These partnerships enrich the ecosystem capabilities of Huawei HMS for Car and provide localized informative and entertaining content service solutions for global automakers.
As the leading music streaming platform in MENA with more than 57 million tracks, Anghami brings strong regional expertise and deep understanding of local listening preferences. Through this new partnership, Anghami will now deliver its content via HMS for Car, helping automakers offer a rich and relevant in-car music experience tailored for the local market.
Anghami has a long-standing partnership with Huawei. In 2020, Anghami completed the integration of Huawei Mobile Services and collaborated with Huawei AppGallery to promote and expand the Middle East and Africa market. In 2021, Anghami developed and launched the HarmonyOS app for Huawei smartwatches in the MEA, and in 2025, it launched a new application version optimized for Huawei Watch 5.
With a user base of more than 32 million, Nabd has established itself as the preferred destination for Arabic content consumption. The platform provides an extensive range of features, including personalized news, live match scores, football schedules, real-time financial markets data, weather forecasts, live TV streaming, entertaining video feeds, e-commerce listings, and engaging word games. This cooperation with Huawei HMS for Car will provide localized content and multilingual services.
As a long-term partner of Huawei since 2021, Nabd has promoted the integration of the HMS media kit and supported ecosystem cooperation, while expanding brand coverage in the MEA through AppGallery.
At the HDC 2025, Huawei also unveiled HMS for Car MAAN 4.0, its latest innovation that allows web-based apps to work just as smoothly as native apps inside the vehicle. Paired with the new App Box development tool, it makes it easier than ever for partners like Anghami, helping them bring seamless, high-quality entertainment to connected vehicles around the world.

Built on a strong VoIP foundation that established seamless communication, botim has evolved into a fintech-first, AI-native platform by integrating advanced financial features designed to meet the changing needs of its users. From January to May 2025, Botim saw a 50 percent increase in monthly active wallet users, a strong indicator of its growing relevance in the digital finance space. The redesigned interface is faster, more intuitive, and purposefully structured to simplify how users interact with its core functions including payments, transfers, lending, and calling. 'botim has always been a trusted platform for meaningful connection but is much more. With this update, we're reinforcing our position as a fintech-first platform, built on a foundation of secure VoIP, and designed with simplicity at its core,' said Dr. Tariq bin Hendi, board member at Astra Tech and CEO of botim. 'We've streamlined the experience to meet the needs of a growing user base that expects more not just from communication, but from the way they interact and manage their financial services as well.' As the UAE continues to experience significant population growth, reaching an all-time high of 11.22 million in 2025 according to Worldometer, botim stands as a trusted platform for this expanding community combining seamless communication and financial tools into one unified experience. botim's evolution from a local service to a globally scalable solution reflects market demand, with its embedded financial services such as peer-to-peer transfers and lending designed to meet users' everyday financial needs, no matter where they are. botim's AI-native foundation enhances accessibility through intelligent features such as real-time translation, smart call filters, and an interactive in-app chatbot, serving a diverse, multilingual audience. These advancements have driven the platform's latest interface update. Designed around real user behavior, the new UI makes it easier to perform everyday actions from payments and transfers to lending and calling. Services are now clearly segmented, navigation is more intuitive, and the overall experience is simplified to meet the demands of an increasingly digital, mobile-first audience. The app adapts to user profiles, from first-time users to VIPs, surfacing the most relevant services. Financial tools are now directly accessible within chat with a single click, while improved call quality and AI-powered chatbot assistance further enhance the user experience. The result is greater responsiveness, reduced clutter, and increased clarity all tailored to the needs of a growing, digitally active population.

Syria to sign 44 agreements worth nearly $6 billion with Saudi Arabia

Syrian Information Minister Hamza al-Mustafa announced on Wednesday that Syria is set to sign 44 agreements with Saudi Arabia, with a total estimated value of around $6 billion. His remarks came during a press conference held on the sidelines of the Syrian-Saudi Investment Forum in Damascus. The event is being attended by a high-level Saudi business delegation. Al-Mustafa said the agreements signed at the forum are expected to create 50,000 jobs. Earlier on Wednesday, a senior Saudi delegation led by Investment Minister Khalid bin Abdulaziz al-Falih arrived in Damascus to take part in the Syrian-Saudi Investment Forum, which was launched under the direction of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as part of efforts to help Syria rebuild. According to the Syrian state news agency, the delegation includes over 130 Saudi businessmen and investors. The forum aims to explore joint cooperation opportunities and discuss the signing of strategic agreements that support sustainable development and strengthen mutual economic interests between Saudi Arabia and Syria – a move that could mark a significant turning point in their bilateral relations. Speaking to Al Arabiya, Saudi Investment Minister al-Falih said Riyadh sees long-term potential in Syria and is committed to investing through its capital and major companies. He described Syria's investment climate as 'very attractive' and emphasized the Kingdom's desire to play an active role in the country's reconstruction and development phase. Al-Falih added that some Saudi companies have already begun building factories inside Syria, and that a large number of new investment projects will be announced on Thursday, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to supporting Syria's economic recovery. He highlighted Syria's human capital, natural resources, and strategic location, and noted that the Syrian government is increasingly relying on the private sector to drive reconstruction, opening up major opportunities for Saudi investors. Al-Falih also stressed that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is personally invested in supporting Syria's path to rebuilding and prosperity. This initiative, he said, is part of Saudi Arabia's broader vision to promote regional stability through economic cooperation and shared development.
