Interim relief for Puneet Singh, Gensol for usage of defamatory words against them
A Delhi court granted interim relief to Puneet Singh, co-founder of Gensol Engineering and BluSmart, against defamatory statements. The court clarified that fair and accurate reporting of investigations and court proceedings is still permitted. This comes amidst investigations by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, NFRA, and ED into Gensol Engineering following fraud allegations, including fund diversion and FEMA violations.

Mumbai: A Delhi court has allowed interim relief sought by Puneet Singh , co-founder, Gensol Engineering Ltd , the company and its affiliate BluSmart for usage of defamatory words which are unsubstantiated or unverified.The court has however clarified that the order shall not have any bearing on the merits of the matter and shall not be construed to restrain any person from reporting about investigation and court proceedings in relation to the allegations so long as it is fair and accurate reporting based on duly substantiated, conclusive and verified material.Singh was represented by his advocate Ayush Jindal. Jindal had argued that the publication contained reckless innuendos, distorted facts, prejudicial implications thereby violating plaintiffs rights guaranteed under Articles 19 & 21 of Constitution of India. It is also stated that the defamatory material constitutes an egregious assault upon the personal and professional reputation.The court while granting the interim relief opined that Court very much understands and recognises that there is freedom of speech and expression under Articles 19(1)(a) of the Constitution of India, however, these are not absolute rights but have limitations contained within itself under Article 19(2) of the Constitution.The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) and the Enforcement Directorate are looking into the books of Gensol Engineering following fraud allegationsIn April, Sebi banned the promoters of renewable energy company Gensol Engineering Ltd , brothers, Anmol and Puneet Jaggi, from the capital markets over alleged fund diversion and document falsification. The regulator also ordered a forensic investigation. Soon thereafter, BluSmart, an all-electric vehicle ride-hailing service promoted by the Jaggi brothers, began shutting its operations.ED's Fema case is focusing on whether funds to the tune of Rs 200 crore routed through a car dealer and cycled back to promoter-linked entities were in contravention of FEMA norms. Some of it was used for unrelated personal expenses, including buying luxury real estate.At the centre of the controversy is the alleged misutilisation of term loans availed by Gensol Engineering Ltd from state-run Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency and Power Finance Corporation . According to Sebi, the company secured a total of Rs 977.75 crore in loans, of which Rs 663.89 crore was meant specifically for the purchase of 6,400 electric vehicles (EVs). These EVs were procured by the company and subsequently leased to BluSmart, a related party.However, in a response submitted to Sebi in February, Gensol Engineering admitted that it had procured only 4,704 EVs till date, while it had received funding for 6,400 EVs. This was corroborated by Go-Auto Private Limited, the EV supplier, which confirmed delivering 4,704 units to the company for a total consideration of Rs 567.73 crore.Given that Gensol Engineering was also required to provide an additional 20% equity contribution, the total expected outlay for the EVs was around Rs 829.86 crore. By that calculation, Rs 262.13 crore remains unaccounted for, said people in the know.

With no official storage options nearby, they often face uncertainty and anxiety about where to leave their belongings. Seizing this opportunity, the autorickshaw driver started a paid bag storage service. He caters to around 20-30 customers daily, earning Rs 20,000-30,000, which translates to a monthly income comparable to that of high-level corporate professionals. In a post on LinkedIn, Mr Rupai explained the auto driver's business model: "I was outside the US Consulate this week for my visa appointment, when security told me I couldn't carry my bag inside. No lockers. No suggestions. Just: "Figure it out." While I stood clueless on the footpath, an auto driver waved at me: "Sir, bag de do. Safe rakhunga, mera roz ka hai. ₹1,000 charge hai." I hesitated. Then gave in. And that's when I discovered this guy's brilliant business." See the post here: To accommodate the volume of bags, the autorickshaw driver has partnered with a local police officer who owns a nearby locker facility. The officer provides secure storage space, allowing the driver to safely store the bags, as his autorickshaw isn't equipped to hold them all. "And while most people are sweating over US visa interviews, this guy is running a zero-mile, hyper-profitable, bootstrapped operation. No MBA. No startup jargon. Just pure hustle and street-smart product-market fit," Mr Rupani wrote. He further called it "a masterclass in solving a hyper-specific pain point," admiring the driver's ability to build trust, ensure security, and charge a premium without relying on apps, funding, or formal business education. He praised the driver's resourcefulness, saying, "Real entrepreneurship doesn't always need a pitch deck. Sometimes it just needs a parking spot." NDTV is unable to confirm the authenticity of the post and the claims presented. While some users were impressed, others raised doubts and questions, seeking more information or clarification about the driver's business venture. One user wrote, "That's not his income alone. He has to share with multiple people, including the police. Otherwise, what stops other autowallahs from doing the same at a lower price? Also, I guess they don't know that there is s locker facility inside the consulate at a charge of 500."

Piyush Goyal calls Italian business enclaves in India to boost investment
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday proposed to develop an industrial conclave for Italian businesses in India to promote investments. Speaking here at India-Italy Business Forum meeting, he said Italian companies can consider setting up manufacturing units and offices in those enclaves. "I have a proposition for you. We can set up Italian enclaves where Italian businesses can set up shops... we can set up hotels, restaurants, healthcare for Italian people who would come to work there. It will be home away from home for them," Goyal said. These industrial parks can be set up in the proposed industrail corridors in different parts of the country. The minister is here on a two-day visit. He is meeting leaders and businesses to boost trade and investments between the two countries. India would invite Italian companies to certain locations in India such as Dighi near Mumbai and Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) in Maharashtra to showcase potential locations for these enclaves. The government has announced to invest about Rs 28,000 crore to set up 12 industrial nodes, and build 100 industrial parks in the country. These industrial areas will be located at Khurpia in Uttarakhand, Rajpura-Patiala in Punjab, Dighi in Maharashtra, Palakkad in Kerala, Agra and Prayagraj in UP, Gaya in Bihar, Zaheerabad in Telangana, Orvakal and Kopparthy in Andhra Pradesh, and Jodhpur-Pali in Rajasthan.

Man gets 22 yrs RIfor raping Dalit girl
Bareilly: A 29-year-old man was awarded rigorous imprisonment (RI) of 22 years by a Pocso court for abducting and raping a 16-year-old Dalit girl and attempting to change her religion. ADGC Brajesh Kumar Pandey said, "The crime was reported on June 8, 2020, when a minor girl, who studied in an inter-college, was abducted by Mohd Haneef. The accused took her to Pilibhit, where she was raped and he also tried to change her religion. The girl managed to escape and return home on June 17, and the accused was arrested on Sept 28 and charged under sections of rape, abduction, along with Pocso and SC/ST acts. A chargesheet was filed against him in the court in Nov 2020. " The court of ADJ Ghulam Mustafa found Haneef guilty under sections of rape, abduction and the Pocso Act on May 27, and sentenced him to 22 years in jail along with a fine of Rs 22,000 on Wednesday.
