Bengals got gift from NFL schedule-makers in key area
The Cincinnati Bengals are shockingly slow starters under Zac Taylor, with no better example than last year's season-opening loss to a bad New England Patriots team that essentially derailed the season.
But with the 2025 NFL schedule released, one could almost suggest those in charge of making the schedule aimed to help the Bengals with this problem.
In fact, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports did just that while predicting the Bengals go 10-7:
"They are notoriously slow starters and couldn't pull themselves out of their early 1-4 hole last year. And in a division where the Ravens are a powerhouse and the Steelers should still be good, a fast start is essential. So it's a huge help that Cincinnati's first two games are against the Browns (in Cleveland) and Jaguars (at home). The NFL gave the Bengals a fighting chance to start fast."

Of course, the Bengals have to actually beat the Browns and Jaguars for this gift of an opening slate to matter. And with more contract drama hanging in the air before training camp via Trey Hendrickson, who knows if a slow start can be avoided again.
But Zac Taylor's plans to change the offseason up in an effort to stop the slow starts needs to work. The rest of the schedule is not friendly at all, not with six road games against playoff teams and a brutal Ravens-Bills-Ravens stretch late in the season.

Aaron Rodgers officially signs one-year contract with Steelers worth over $13 million: report

Aaron Rodgers is officially headed to Pittsburgh next season. The four-time league MVP officially signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday and will address the media on Tuesday for the first time following the team's first minicamp practice, the Steelers' senior director of communications Burt Lauten announced on X. Rodgers, 41, signed a one-year deal worth up to $19.5 million with incentives, which includes a $10 million guarantee, ESPN reported, citing sources. The news, first reported on Wednesday, ended months of speculation as to whether Rodgers would return for another NFL season or enter retirement after a failed two-year stint with the New York Jets. Rodgers addressed the rumors about his decision and his time with the Jets, during an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" in April. He said he had spoken to several teams, including New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell, whom he is in regular contact with. "I'm open to anything and attached to nothing. Retirement could still be a possibility, but right now my focus is and has been and will continue to be on my personal life … there's still conversations that are being had." Ultimately, the veteran NFL quarterback decided Pittsburgh would be where he would play his 21st season. Rodgers' arrival solves the Steelers' quarterback problems – at least for now – after Russell Wilson and Justin Fields both signed with New York Teams. Now Rodgers will battle Mason Rudolph, who signed a two-year contract in March, for the starting position. Bills Advised to Shake Up Roster With Major Trade Before 2025 Season

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entering the 2025 NFL season, the Buffalo Bills are one of the best teams in football. After ending their season with a heartbreaking loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game last season, the Bills are looking to take the final step and get into the Super Bowl. Throughout the course of the offseason, Buffalo made a few moves. However, the front office was not as aggressive as many expected it to be. Joey Bosa was the biggest outside addition for the Bills. Joshua Palmer was another addition who should be solid offensively. Read more: Bills Linked to Major Defensive Upgrade Before 2025 Season Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report has suggested the Bills consider trading one of their current players. He thinks that pass rusher A.J. Epenesa would make sense as a trade candidate for Buffalo. "Meanwhile, while Epenesa has been decent for the Bills the past three seasons, he hasn't been great. The second-round pick in 2020 has logged at least six sacks in each of the past three seasons, but the 26-year-old has never had seven sacks in a campaign and has topped 20 tackles just once," Davenport wrote. "There's always demand for edge-rushers in the NFL—even rotational options like Epenesa. And with him unlikely to be with the team past the 2025 season, now is the time to see what they can get for him." Truthfully, this kind of cost-cutting move would be counterproductive to the Bills' pursuit of a championship. If they were to trade Epenesa with a backup plan in place to improve the roster, it could make sense, but giving up quality pass-rushing depth is always dangerous. Read more: Bills Receive Bad Update Regarding James Cook Epenesa has played in 75 games over his five seasons with Buffalo. He has racked up 103 total tackles to go along with 21.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and 17 defended passes. Josh Allen will give the Bills a fighting chance. He won the NFL MVP award last season and is the kind of quarterback who can power a team to Super Bowl contention year in and year out. Hopefully, the team made enough moves this offseason to get over the hump. Epenesa is a name to watch on the trade market, but it would be very surprising to see Buffalo move him at this point. Aaron Rodgers signs reported 1-year, $13.65 million contract with Steelers, including $10 million guaranteed

Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers are officially official. On Saturday, the veteran quarterback went to the Steelers' practice facility to sign a one-year deal with the team, per multiple reports. The contract is worth $13.65 million, with $10 million guaranteed, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. With incentives, which include playing time and team performance, the contract is worth up to $19.5 million. Rodgers, after a long offseason full of hints, finally ended the speculation earlier this week by agreeing to a short-term deal with Pittsburgh. The four-time NFL MVP will now put on a Steelers uniform as the end of his career winds down. Advertisement Rodgers' move to Pittsburgh came after two disappointing years with the New York Jets. As New York went through a coaching and GM change this offseason, Rodgers was informed that the Jets were moving on without him. In the weeks since, Rodgers had been weighing whether to retire or to keep playing, though the Steelers staff seemed optimistic that Rodgers would join in the offseason. Rodgers' commitment to the Steelers sets up a handful of exciting matchups in the 2025 season, including an early matchup against the Jets, and another matchup against his other former team, the Green Bay Packers.
