Nyra Banerjee shared that casting directors often said her look suited South Indian films. She initially resisted, despite being compared to legends like Sridevi.
Television actress Nyra Banerjee, also known for her work in South Indian cinema, recently shared her experiences with casting directors. She revealed that early in her career, she was often told that her physical appearance suited roles typically seen in South Indian films due to her face and body.
Nyra said, 'I always heard casting directors say, 'Tumhaara face and body South Indian films ke lie perfect hai.' I was a little voluptuous and not so skinny at that time. Yeh log bol lete hain muh par ki aapka face and figure South movies wala hai. I said that I don't want to do it. I have never even seen a South film. A casting director took Sridevi and other legendary actor names, explaining how South Indian films are also good."
She shared that when she returned home and told her parents about the offer, her father refused, while her mother advised her to forget about it, as they didn't have anyone to turn to for advice.
Nyra added, 'They also said that if one of them is travelling with me to Mumbai and overlooking, then it's worth giving a shot. Because astrologically, several pandits had already destined that this girl will definitely do something in the creative field, she is very good at fine arts. That's how I did Kadambari, a Sanskrit TV show."
The actress revealed that South Indian cinema is incredibly competitive. When she started receiving significant film offers and lead roles, she chose to turn them down to focus on her studies. Many questioned her decision, telling her, 'You're choosing studies over acting? What nonsense?"

Rare pic! Suriya spotted with daughter Diya in a candid moment; Fans can't stop gushing

Suriya and Jyothika are one of the most adored couples in the South Indian film industry, known for their stellar work on screen and their grounded family life off-screen. While both actors have often remained tight-lipped about their personal life, a rare moment recently caught fans' attention—Suriya was spotted in Hyderabad with his daughter Diya, offering a glimpse into their private world. Currently in Hyderabad for the shoot of his upcoming film directed by Venky Atluri , Suriya was seen walking with Diya in a candid photograph that has now gone viral. Dressed casually in a navy blue t-shirt and cream pants, Diya looked relaxed beside her father. The moment warmed fans' hearts as the star kid is rarely seen in public or on social media. Just a few weeks ago, Diya made headlines when she attended her graduation ceremony from Ascend International School in Mumbai. Proud mom Jyothika shared a few pictures from the event, offering a heartfelt note of gratitude to the teachers and staff who supported Diya through her academic journey. She also gave a special shout-out to the school's helpers and mentioned Diya's sweet gesture of regularly cooking meals for one of them, highlighting her compassionate side. Reportedly, Diya isn't just an academic achiever but also an enthusiastic sportsperson. She was even the house captain at her school, a position that speaks volumes about her leadership skills and discipline. Suriya and Jyothika have always maintained a strong boundary between their work and personal lives. They've made a conscious choice to shield their children—Diya and her younger brother—from the limelight, only sharing glimpses on rare and significant occasions. Meanwhile, before starting the film's first schedule, Suriya and director Venky Atluri visited the Palani temple to seek blessings, staying true to his spiritual roots. As fans eagerly await Suriya's next cinematic outing, this rare family moment has offered a heartwarming pause, reminding everyone that behind the superstar is a devoted father.
