Francisco Bruto da Costa has had stints with NorthEast United FC and Kerala Blasters as assistant to Portuguese coach Nelo Vingada Panaji: Geno FC have confirmed the appointment of Francisco Bruto da Costa as their head coach for the season. Francisco, an AFC Pro coaching licence holder, has had several roles with the national youth teams, besides stints with NorthEast United FC and Kerala Blasters as assistant to Portuguese coach Nelo Vingada. He has also worked abroad with assignments in Malaysia, Bangladesh, Egypt and Vietnam, where he most recently worked with Cong-Viettel FC in the Vietnam League 1. He was part of the Malaysian FA's technical team when Vingada was strategic advisor and technical director with Carlos Queiroz as coach and Mohamed Salah leading the team. 'Francisco's appointment represents a bold step forward in our club's evolution,' said club owner Sagar Salgaocar. 'His wealth of international experience, combined with a deep understanding of Goan football culture, makes him the ideal person to lead our senior team.' Joyner Antao, former coach at Sesa FA, will join the technical team as assistant coach. He is known for his work in youth development and local football structures. 'Together, they will shape a new footballing identity for Geno,' said Salgaocar.

'It was smooth sailing as the management put things in place in a very professional manner. When you have like-minded people around you, facing challenges becomes easy,' said the former FC Goa defender. The GPL now has 14 teams, so it was never going to be easy for the debutants, owned by industrialist Dattaraj Salgaocar , who co-owned Indian Super League (ISL) side FC Goa during its inception in 2014. Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], May 4 (ANI): FC Goa defeated Jamshedpur FC with a 3-0 win to clinch the 2025 Super Cup title at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. Borja Herrera led the charge with a brilliant brace, while Dejan Drazic added the finishing touch on a night. The victory marked FC Goa's first trophy under head coach Manolo Marquez, whose chapter at the club came to an end in the perfect manner. It was Goa's second Super Cup title overall, making them the first club to win the tournament twice. The result also secured their qualification for the AFC Champions League Two 2025-26 as they will return to an Asian club competition after four years, an AIFF release read. The match was billed as a battle between FC Goa's attacking firepower and Jamshedpur's unbreached defence, yet by full-time, it was clear which side had stamped its authority. Jamshedpur, known for their compact shape and counter-attacking style, and having not conceded a single goal until the final, simply couldn't cope with Goa's expansive play, it added.
