Kim Soo Hyun moves National Forensic Service after his plush apartment seized; to challenge Garosero's ‘fabricated' evidence
Since the advertisers pulled out of their contract based on the evidence submitted by Garo Sero, which Soo Hyun's legal team insists is fabricated, his lawyers have now taken the case to South Korea's National Forensic Service (NFS) to verify the files' authenticity. If the files turn out to be doctored, it could flip the entire case.

Since March, Garo Sero and Kim Sae Ron's family have dropped plenty of digital content they claim as evidence, pictures, screenshots, call logs, alleged audio recordings, and more, forcing Soo Hyun and his agency to hold a press conference. There, he admitted to dating Kim Sae Ron, but denied claims that they were together when she was underage, insisting the relationship only began after she became an adult. But Garo Sero didn't stop. They even dragged in the attorney, threatening to sue him based on a re-constructed audio recording. Soo Hyun's lawyer, Bang Sung Hoon from LKB & Partners, stated, 'It's true that provisional seizure was granted, but Kim Soo Hyun is the victim of criminal slander by Garo Sero Institute. Their false claims that Kim dated and exploited the underage Kim Sae Ron led to these consequences. The blame lies with the instigators, not Kim.'
His team is now fighting back against all the advertisers who dropped him based on that 'fabricated' evidence. One of them, a medical beauty company called CLASSYS, had hired Kim to endorse their brand, Volnewmer. When the scandal blew up, CLASSYS scrapped the deal and sued him for damaging their reputation, securing a court order to seize one of his luxury apartments worth about ₩3 billion KRW (around $2.2 million USD). Three more companies have followed suit.
Kim Soo Hyun enjoys a massive fanbase in South Korea and globally, some of whom have even launched a petition to protect the actor from cyberbullying. They have now accused CLASSYS of causing 'secondary harm', stressing that the brand is doing additional harm to someone who is already being targeted. Fans argue that the company made money off Kim Soo Hyun's image for years, but turned against him when the controversy broke. They are now threatening to boycott the brand unless it publicly explains itself.

Kim Soo Hyun and Gold Medalist have filed a countersuit for ₩11 billion KRW (around $8 million USD) against both Garo Sero Institute and Kim Sae Ron's family. The charges include defamation, to privacy breach and the distribution of malicious information. Additional complaints have been filed under South Korea's sexual violence laws and the Information and Communications Network Act. Earlier, the actor's legal team confirmed that they are working on the provisional seizure of Garo Sero's bank account, where Soo Hyun is the direct creditor.

Freakier Friday Global Box Office: Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis' comedy hits big, driven by nostalgia and star power
Disney's Freakier Friday is turning out to be one of the most talked-about films of the summer. The long-awaited sequel to the 2003 classic is doing much better than expected at the box office. In just a few weeks, the Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis starrer has managed to win over both fans and critics, showing that audiences are still eager for feel-good, family-friendly stories. Freakier Friday Became A Success Story, Right When It Opened To Heartening Numbers In Its Opening Weekend In its opening weekend, Freakier Friday made around USD 28.5 million in North America. That number grew quickly. By August 20, it had reached around USD 56 million domestically and another USD 32 million from overseas markets, bringing its worldwide total to about USD 88 million. For a film made on a modest budget of USD 42 to 45 million, this is a strong success. It heads for a finish in the vicinity of USD 100 million in USA-Canada and the global gross should be to the north of USD 150 million. Why The Success Of Freakier Friday Is Impressive? What makes the film's performance even more impressive is the positive response from viewers. It received an 'A' grade from CinemaScore, which is even higher than the 'A-' given to the original film. This strong word-of-mouth is helping the movie sustain in theaters. In today's time and age, the pre-release reviews hold the power to break non-blockbusters like Freakier Friday. Luckily, the movie got good reviews that converted to the exceptional audience support that it is now getting. Weapons Makes Its Presence Amply Felt Against The The Nostalgia Sequel While Freakier Friday is drawing families and fans of the original, another film is dominating the horror space. Zach Cregger's Weapons has already passed USD 100 million in just two weeks at the domestic box office. It heads for a USD 160 million plus finish in just US-Canada. Still, Freakier Friday offers something different, a light-hearted escape that audiences seem to really appreciate. With strong numbers and lots of fan love, Freakier Friday is more than just a sequel. It's a true comeback story.

Cyber experts warn of China, Pakistan intrusions, call for robust measures
1 2 Lucknow: Cyber experts cautioned against increasing intrusions from China and Pakistan and urged Indian authorities to rapidly strengthen digital security infrastructure on the concluding day of the Uttar Pradesh Institute of Forensic Sciences (UPSIFS) seminar on Wednesday. The final day featured detailed deliberations on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, genome mapping, genealogical databases, forensic justice, ancestry research, forensic applications, and forensic entrepreneurship. Principal secretary (Maharashtra) Brajesh Singh spoke about how even minor cyber incidents can trigger massive disruptions, citing the Hezbollah pager attack and the malware strike that shut down India's largest port for three months. He explained that cybercrime cannot be countered by traditional policing and requires international cooperation. Breaking LockBit, for example, took the combined effort of 11 countries, he noted. Singh called for real-time crisis mapping, chain-of-custody protocols for digital evidence, tracking illicit money flows through blockchain and wallets, seizing criminal infrastructure, and swift victim assistance. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Knee Pain Keeping You Up at Night? This Trick Could Help Instantly Read More Undo He also praised the RBI's cyber framework and said that cybersecurity was 'like agriculture, it cannot be imported, it must be cultivated within the country.' Cyber expert Robbie Abraham, who joined the seminar virtually from Australia, traced the evolution of cyberattacks, from worms like I Love You, which caused losses of USD 8.7 billion, and Conficker, which caused USD 9 billion in losses across 190 countries, to modern ransomware and phishing-based intrusions targeting browsing data, crypto wallets, and confidential information. Hackers, he said, are increasingly relying on logging and credential theft, selling stolen data on the dark web. His focus was on preventive measures such as regular security training, use of antivirus, and heightened precautions with emails and messages. Another cyber expert, Vivek Sood, discussed advanced security management in the global supply chain. Dr. Madhusudan Reddy Nandineni from the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics in Hyderabad highlighted the importance of next-generation sequencing, rapid DNA analysis, and portable forensic devices. Weapons Domestic Box Office Update: Zach Cregger's blockbuster horror-comedy set to breach USD 100 million in 2 weeks flat
Weapons, directed by Zach Cregger and starring Julia Garner, Josh Brolin and others, is a big blockbuster. The movie is on an exceptional run and will comfortably enter the USD 100 million domestic club by the end of its second week. It was produced at a modest budget of USD 38 million and will end up with lifetime collections, almost 8 times as much as its budget, thanks to exceptional word of mouth. Weapons Is Set To Cross USD 100 Million At The Domestic Box Office In 2 Weeks Flat; Gallops Towards USD 200 Million Worldwide Weapons was never seen as the year's dark horse at the box office, even when Cregger's last, Barbarian, grossed USD 45 million against a budget of under USD 5 million. It was always seen as a movie that would play with the horror movie buffs, but it was never expected to breakout to the level that it has. After an already exceptional first week, the movie dropped by under 45 percent in its second weekend. With legs getting even stronger, the movie is expected to end its domestic run with collections of around USD 160 - 170 million. The predictions are modest because another big horror movie, Conjuring 4, is almost up for release. Since both movies target the same audience, the collections may not reach USD 200 million. Weapons is one of the biggest hits of Summer 2025, based on return on investments. The movie should motivate independent writers and directors to invest more time on story and screenplay because the results are directly proportional. Freakier Friday Ends Up Being A Good Counter-Programmer For Exhibitors Alongside Weapons Freakier Friday released alongside Weapons and it has ended up being a good counter-programming movie for the exhibitors. It recently crossed USD 50 million domestically and it heads for a finish in the USD 80 million range. On the global front, it should break into the USD 125 million club. Against a modest budget of USD 40-45 million, the teen-comedy is a hit at the box office as well.
