Police offer £20,000 reward for information over fatal stabbing
Imran Maroof, 20, was killed on 27 July last year after reports of a fight in Plashet Park, Newham. Police officers arrived at the scene at 7.38pm to find the young man with stab injuries.
Despite attempts by the emergency services to stabilise Mr Maroof, the Metropolitan Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 16-year-old boy who could not be named for legal reasons was arrested the following month in connection with the murder, appearing later at Bexley Magistrates' Court, but he was subsequently released.
A spokesperson for the force said the case against the teenager was then dropped.
Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend from Specialist Crime South said Mr Maroof's murder had a 'profound impact' on the young man's family, adding that the Met 'remains committed' to finding his killer.
'Imran's family and friends continue to live with the trauma,' she said. 'One year has passed since this senseless killing, and the Met remains committed to bringing those who killed Imran to justice.
'If you were in the vicinity of Plashet Park on the day of the stabbing or know anything that could help us, we need you to contact us.'
Police have released a photo of the victim, with independent charity Crimestoppers offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information.

He was only young.' The fall happened during the latest in a run of stadium shows for the band's sell-out Live '25 reunion tour – their first since splitting in 2009. Wembley Stadium said their concert on Sunday night will still be going ahead. A spokesperson said: 'Last night, Wembley Stadium medics, the London Ambulance Service and the police attended to a concert-goer who was found with injuries consistent with a fall. 'Despite their efforts, the fan very sadly died. Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers. 'The police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them. 'Tonight's Oasis concert will go ahead as planned.'

Former US soldier suspected of killing 4 in Montana remains at large
The former U.S. soldier suspected of killing four people at a Montana bar was still at large early Sunday and may be armed after escaping in a stolen vehicle containing clothes and camping gear, officials said. Authorities believe 45-year-old Michael Paul Brown killed four people on Friday morning at The Owl Bar in Anaconda, Montana, about 75 miles (120 kilometers) southeast of Missoula in a valley hemmed in by mountains. Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen said at a press conference Sunday that Brown committed the shooting with a rifle that law enforcement believes was his personal weapon. All the victims were adults between 50 and 70 years old. One of the victims was the bartender. Knudsen warned residents in the town of just over 9,000 people that Brown, who lived next door to the bar where he was a regular, could come back to the area. 'This is an unstable individual who walked in and murdered four people in cold blood for no reason whatsoever. So there absolutely is concern for the public,' Knudsen said. Numerous public events were canceled over the weekend as the search entered its third day, according to local Facebook pages. Investigators are considering all possible options for Brown's whereabouts, the attorney general said. That includes searching the woods where Brown hunted and camped while he was a kid. But Knudsen noted that, during peak tourist season in western Montana, some law enforcement officials would have to return to their local jurisdictions for their regular responsibilities. Brown served in the Army as an armor crewman from 2001 to 2005 and deployed to Iraq from early 2004 until March 2005, according to Lt. Col. Ruth Castro, an Army spokesperson. Brown was in the Montana National Guard from 2006 to March 2009, Castro said, and left military service at the rank of sergeant. Brown's niece, Clare Boyle, told the AP her uncle has struggled with mental illness for years and she and other family members repeatedly sought help. Oasis said Sunday that its members are 'shocked and saddened' after a man fell to his death during a concert by the band at London's Wembley Stadium. The Metropolitan Police force said officers and paramedics responded to reports of an injured person just before 10:30 (2130GMT) on Saturday night It said a man in his 40s was found 'with injuries consistent with a fall.' He was pronounced dead at the scene. The force urged anyone who saw what happened or caught it on phone video to contact police. 'We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night,' Oasis said in a statement, offering 'sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.'
