First Look at ‘Jurassic World: The Experience' at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore

Time Out27-05-2025
Gather your dino-loving pals and step into a prehistoric wonderland, if you dare. The Jurassic World: The Experience has officially landed at Gardens by the Bay, taking over the Cloud Forest with towering dinosaurs, immersive effects, and heart-pounding adventure.
The set-up is reminiscent of Isla Nublar from the Jurassic World films, and is split into zones that showcase different species of dinosaurs in lifelike animatronic form. The highlight at the entrance? Two towering 8.5-metre-tall Brachiosaurus nestled near the waterfall. At night, the waterfall transforms into a gorgeous light display that enhances the dramatic atmosphere of the experience.
Jurassic World: The Experience isn't just visually impressive – it's interactive and as life-like as it gets. Dinosaurs peek out from the foliage, with tiny Compsognathus hidden among the plants and Velociraptors and Pteranodons soaring overhead. You'll also encounter mischievous Dilophosaurus that spit 'venom' – but worry not as it's actually just harmless streams of water.
Move deeper into the misty forest and you'll notice the background music becomes ominous, signaling the approach of the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex. This beast growls, thrashes, and tries to break free from its cage. It's a thrilling sight, but fair warning – the realistic detail may be intense for younger kids.
Time Out tip: If the effects get too overwhelming for the little ones, families can head up to the Cloud Forest Trail, where the sounds aren't as loud and children can observe the dinosaurs from a distance.
Visitors can stop by the petting zoo, where handlers introduce baby dinosaurs. Go ahead and extend a hand to be sniffed, before gently petting these adorable babies.
Fans of the film franchise will also love the special encounter with Blue, the beloved Velociraptor from the movies. With a guide's help, you can slowly approach and interact with her – just remember to move carefully and respectfully.
Snap a souvenir photo at the themed booth, where you can pose in front of various backdrops like the iconic Jurassic World gates or beside the menacing T-Rex. Each printed photo is priced at $10. End your visit at the gift shop and pick up Jurassic-themed merchandise such as sweatshirts, toys and other collectibles.
Time Out tip: The Cloud Forest has scheduled misting every two hours from 10am to 8pm. However, the mist can leave moisture on your camera lens and affect photo quality. If capturing clear shots is your priority, it's best to plan your visit outside of these misting periods.

I went to the new immersive experience that feels like being in Grease – with 50s themed funfair and huge live show

I HAD walked straight into 1959, surrounded by red and white Rydell High memorabilia and dazzling lights of carnival rides. Secret Cinema's, Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical had immediately transported me out of London in 2025 and landed me in the world of Sandy and Danny in the 1950s. 10 10 It was the latest edition of the immersive cinema company's productions that transport guests into the worlds we see on the screen, following the success of Casino Royal and Stranger Thing. "Welcome to your first day of school," a women dressed in Rydell colours chimed. Hundreds of guests - or should I say 'students' - had fully embraced the experience for the next few hours, dressing themselves in ankle-length skits, Pink Ladies Jackets and T-Birds leather. The production staff even wore Greased Lightnin' mechanics outfits, splattered with oil. It felt like a time machine had dropped me into the world of Sandy and Danny, more than 65 years in the past. Guests can purchase carnival tokens, just like at a real fair, to enjoy the attractions at the experience. There was a Ferris wheel, flying chairs, hook-a-duck and even the iconic fun house from Sandy's unforgettable transformation scene. Food vendors line the edge of the carnival, where I opted for a £13 vegan hot dog, complete with beer-infused onions. Pricey, for sure, but in line with what you would expect at a London event. As for a tipple, the £12.50 Lillet Hugo Spritz was a nice nod to The Pink Ladies - made with elderflower, rose and fresh mint. 'I visited the new Traitors live experience' Eventually, it was time to leave the carnival behind and step through the doors of Rydell High. Inside, the school's gymnasium dominated the room, serving as the central stage for the night's performance. Around the edges, themed bars and seating areas were scattered - each also playing a role in the experience. My table was at Frosty's Palace, which was decked out with blue and white booths and classic diner tables. The table was then complete with a bottle of rose in an ice bucket - another subtle wink to The Pink Ladies. Rows of vintage cars had been converted into tables, the auto shop was slick with oil and the bleachers were ready for Patty Simcox to screech about school spirit. 10 10 Every area had been well thought out with the creators not just producing a stage for a show, but a world to transport yourself into. The experience kicks off with the film itself, but as key scenes played out, actors took to the stage to bring them to life, all before cutting back to the movie. My only criticism would be that at times it felt a little overwhelming to the senses. I found myself on occasions unsure where to look or what to listen to as the sound from the film, orchestra and actors sometimes battle against each other. Yet, the entire time my feet tapped and I couldn't help but sing along. 10 10 And the entire performance really was full of unforgettable moment after unforgettable moment. One guest, in a silver dress with curlers in her hair, was plucked from her seat to perform in the 'Beauty School Dropout' scene. In another scene, Danny performed in his car whilst dancers flipped and spun around him. Both the dancing and singing throughout the experience was breathtakingly flawless. The energy to sing and dance simultaneously as they did, really deserves recognition. Liam Buckland - who played Danny - nailed John Travolta 's swagger, complete with slicked-back hair and a cheeky-yet-charming attitude. 10 10 Unlike traditional West End shows, most ticketholders stand and move freely about the room. The actors even join in, chatting to guests whilst fully in character. One student dropped by our table to rant about being 'left out of Frenchy's sleepover' - dragging us directly into the drama. For the finale, the audience was led back outside to the carnival. Sandy's final transformation scene with song 'You're the One That I Want' really did bring the house down. Yes, there were leather trousers and red lippy. Yes, they shimmied on the Shake Shack. Yes, it did send the audience wild. 10 By the end of the night, one thing was clear: the experience really did 'have me a blast'. In a city with so many stage shows and immersive experiences, Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical stood out like a Pink Lady's jacket in a sea of beige. The experience runs until September 7 in Battersea Park, London and tickets cost from £49 per person. I also headed to the new Traitors live experience - it was a heart-pounding world of lies and best friend-betrayal. And I have also seen the new Titanic immersive exhibition - I gasped as the iceberg hit but there was another 'wow' moment.

Maya Jama BANS Love Islander from All Stars saying ‘that's enough'

It comes after Casey recently teased returning to the show AGAIN for Love Island Games MAYA SAYS NO Maya Jama BANS Love Islander from All Stars saying 'that's enough' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOVE Island host Maya Jama has BANNED Casey O'Gorman from doing All Stars again, and said "that's enough". Casey, 28, who is now single after his split from Gabby Allen, 33, has had more villa appearances than any other Islander. He then returned to the villa for Love Island All Stars the following year, before going back AGAIN on the show in January. Casey went onto win the show with Gabby, but they split not long after scooping the £50K prize pot. Now he has teased another return the villa, but host Maya is having none of it. The Sun exclusively revealed how All Stars will be back for a third series next year. After we broke this news, Casey then took to TikTok and posted a video of himself dancing around in his speedos. He wrote over the top of the clip: "When they announce their is going to be an All Stars season three." However, Maya immediately put a stop to any plans Casey might have at applying to be in the villa again, and wrote beneath the clip: "Lol my guy it's enough!" It comes just weeks after Casey spoke exclusively to The Sun about the possibility of doing another Love Island spin-off show. It came after we revealed he was in talks for the show's Games spin-off. Casey O'Gorman hits back at ex Gabby Allen's 'boy' swipe in new video Speaking about this, he told us: "I don't think I'd go back on for £10,000, no. "Look, money talks right? So if I'm getting paid £1,000,000 to go back on, I think you'd be stupid not to. That's not really been a thought of mine to be honest with you." Talking about his most recent stint on All Stars, Casey said: "The third time going in, they were like, 'look, Case, we feel like you've got so much more to give on Love Island and we want you to go in from the start. "And I went, if you put me in from the start, I'll do it. I'll 100 percent do it because I feel like it's a completely different experience going in pretty much from day one. "So that's why I did it again because I felt like I was given a lot better chance going in from the start and it obviously paid off." He's also in no rush to start dating again after his split from Gabby in May. "I couldn't be more single. I'm just focusing on the marathon. I'm not focusing on dating or anything like that. I'm very happy," he said.

I watched a woman orgasm on stage and it wasn't even awkward

If you stumbled across Betty Grumble's Edinburgh Fringe show unawares, drawn in by an eye-catching poster and Melbourne Comedy Festival's rave reviews, you would be forgiven for hating every second of it. Just as it seemed, a group of women was sitting next to me in the audience. 'Did you know she was going to do all this?' one of them asked me, with a face full of horror as Emma Maye Gibson was finishing up her show, writhing and sliding around on a wet floor totally naked, having a moment before she shaved her public hair and pretended to eat her own poo (it was not actual faeces, though she did mimic laying it). Not long into the show, Gibson masturbated on stage in her 'Grief Cum' – a way of releasing her past traumas. (Yes, she did actually orgasm on stage, as she told Metro in a pre-Fringe interview.) Gripping a pink vibrator to her chest, Gibson went for it, moaning and masterbating like she was alone in her bedroom. Apart from a few courtesy side-eyes and clenched smiles shared with my uninitiated neighbour, the room – made up of men and women, mostly young but with some older – watched on without the creepy intensity you may expect. Some even started shaking their macarenas in vocal support of her climax, as is encouraged by Betty throughout the show. Audience members were warned of 'sex scenes' and 'joyfully wetter full-frontal nudity'. But there should have been a stronger trigger warning that we were about to see a sex act on stage. Gibson did tell people they could leave while explaining what she was about to do. But at this stage, being an 'Enemy of Grooviness' didn't seem like an option. My neighbour said her friend just wanted to go home after seeing this intensely artistic show, having thought they'd signed up for a comedy. But Grumble fans, who knew the wild ride they were in for, were left in awe and raving, as I found out in the toilets after. Enemies of Grooviness Eat Sh!t is the Australian sex clown's most recent wild art piece, and it sees her messily, chaotically and in some strange way beautifully put a middle finger up to beauty standards and social norms, while owning and giving thanks to her body, which men have attempted to violently claim over the years. She talks about the death of a friend, domestic violence and the court systems, which, after her ordeal concluded, 'Hell hath no fury than a woman scorned.' It's heavy stuff. But while some people go to therapy, Gibson releases it all through her art. It leaves her through music; with her voice tuned into a man's for a thrilling, naked and crazed rendition of Don't Cha by the Pussycat Dolls. She also finds freedom in poetry, nudity and sex in a way that's strange – deeply so – but also euphoric. Betty's musical assistant Craig – who was utterly poker-faced throughout, wearing Charli XCX sunnies and nipple tape – offered an almost comical contrast to her extravagant frolicking. Together, they were what I can only describe as lesbian rock n' roll. Erring into the spiritual, eco-sexual Betty sees earth as a lover rather than a mother: she lovingly talks of tree roots and composting her grief. That was a little much for my personal tastes, but I totally went with it. This is her hour of soul-pouring with absolutely no regard for what is considered 'normal': who am I to tell her this isn't? Gibson has an almost hypnotic knack for taking the audience with her into a cult-like mindset of releasing inhibitions. It is admirable, and although her confidence on stage likely couldn't be dented by an 18-wheeler truck, I think it's brave. At one point, the audience were hurried up on their feet to do a 'boogie with Grumble in the bin'. (The bin being her messy trauma). Led by Gibson, this moment reminded me of a housewife's dance fitness video from the 1980s – except she was totally naked and wearing demented The Joker-esque makeup applied by an audience member. So, naturally, we danced. Mortifying, right? Weirdly… no. I've had redder cheeks seeing poorly executed stand-up comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe. Betty gives so much of herself that a little jig in a lit-up room with 50 strangers paled in comparison. All in all, Betty Grumble wasn't totally my cup of tea. But perhaps that says more about me than it does her. This sex clown is on the frayed fringes of the Fringe. It's totally over the top and verges on the pretentious. But hell, it was more interesting, gripping and life-affirming than watching someone stand on stage for an hour talking about that time they missed the bus. Got a story?
