Hello and welcome to live coverage of the first women's T20I between New Zealand and Australia.
The White Ferns arrive at Eden Park as the T20 world champions after their stunning form reversal last year ended with a historic win over South Africa in the final. Australia had claimed the T20 World Cup at the three previous tournaments before their shock defeat to South Africa in the semi-finals, and have been on a tear since then with 12 victories from as many completed matches across all formats.
Both sides are close to full strength though Australia are most crucially without captain Alyssa Healy for this three-match series as the star keeper-batter rehabilitates a foot injury. New Zealand have recalled Sophie Devine, who has given up the T20 captaincy since lifting the trophy last year, while Melie Kerr also returns after sitting out the white-ball matches against Sri Lanka and impressing in the WPL.
The conditions in Auckland are looking promising for a full 40 overs, with a predicted high of 24C and little cloud around.

Australia set South Africa daunting target of 282 runs to win WTC final
LONDON, June 13 (Reuters) - Mitchell Starc scored an unbeaten half-century as Australia's last-wicket pair put on a 59-run partnership on Friday to set South Africa a daunting target of 282 runs to win the World Test Championship final at Lord's. Starc scored a potential match-winning 58 as Australia looked to have put the contest beyond an increasingly deflated South Africa side, who had high hopes of wrapping up the tail on the third day but took two hours to make the breakthrough. They will need to produce the joint second-highest run chase in test history at Lord's following England's successful 282-run chase against New Zealand in 2004. The highest is West Indies hunting down 342 against England in 1984. A flatter wicket might offer some hope, after 28 wickets were taken on the opening two days of the contest, but Starc's exploits make Australia runaway favourites to retain their title after they scored 207 in their second innings. They started the day on 144-8 with a 218-run lead and modest ambitions of adding 20-30 runs more, captain Pat Cummins had said after Thursday's play. But while Nathan Lyon was dismissed in the third over of the day, becoming Kagiso Rabada's ninth victim of the match as he was trapped leg before wicket for two, Starc and Josh Hazlewood frustrated South Africa's hopes of chasing a less daunting target. Starc was a model of patience, picking up runs and protecting Hazlewood, before bringing up his 50 with a scything cut shot that took Australia past 200, having been reeling at 73-7 late on the second day. South Africa used six bowlers on Friday in their bid to forge a breakthrough and were increasingly desperate as the target crept up. It was part-timer Aiden Markram who finally dismissed Hazlewood, as the batsman dragged the ball to Keshav Maharaj at cover. Hazlewood scored 17 off 53 balls. South Africa scored 138 in the first innings which offers some perspective on how tough their second-innings task will be, albeit they have two and a half days in which to chase down the target.

Olympic rider, 66, filmed striking horse '40 times' in ‘most awful video' banned a year on from Charlotte Dujardin shame
AUSSIE former Olympian Heath Ryan has been suspended following the emergence of a distressing video in which he can be seen whipping a horse around 40 times. Ryan, 66, represented Australia in dressage at Beijing 2008. 3 Equestrian Australia have since suspended the Sydney-born rider, while launching an official investigation into the online video. Their statement read: "Equestrian Australia is extremely alarmed and concerned by the treatment of the horse shown in this footage. "Our policies include high standards to protect all participants and their horses against any adverse physical, social, and emotional conditions." In a lengthy Facebook post, Ryan claimed that he had been trying to save the horse, named Nico, from being put down - and that the footage was taken around two years ago. An excerpt of his post read: "Oh my goodness! The most awful video of me on a young horse has just surfaced. "This horse was dropped off at my place on his way to the knackery. His name is Nico. He was 6 years of age. A beautiful type. "(After the events of the video) I rode Nico for another couple of days and he responded very well. "All of this transpired sincerely with the horse's best interests the sole consideration. "I need to add that this happened about two years ago…..and the video has been posted by an unhappy ex-employee. "All I can say is that this awful video was collateral damage of me from the bottom of my heart launching a rescue mission." If I had been thinking of myself I would have immediately just gotten off and sent Nico to the knackery. "That video was a life or death moment for Nico and I genuinely had to try my very hardest to see if Nico would consider other options. "All of this transpired sincerely with the horse's best interests the sole consideration. Unbelievably it was so successful for everyone except me with the release of this video." DUJARDIN CONTROVERSY Last summer, decorated British Olympian Charlotte Dujardin pulled out of the Paris Games just days before after video footage emerged of her whipping a horse. Dujardin, 39, was subsequently handed a one-year ban by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports. The three-time Olympic gold medallist subsequently released a statement, in which she revealed that she was pregnant. It read: "I fully respect the verdict issued by the Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), released today. "As the federation has recognised, my actions in the video do not reflect who I am and I can only apologise again. "I understand the responsibility that comes with my position in the sport, and I will forever aim to do better. This has undoubtedly been one of the darkest and most difficult periods of my life, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me during this time. "To those of you who have sent messages, emails and tried to reach me to check in on how I am – thank you. Every kind word truly has made a difference, more than you'll ever know. "What I was unable to share at the time is that I am currently pregnant, with my baby due in February. "This was planned well before the Olympics and something my partner Dean and I have been excited about for a long time. "At the moment, the energy I have is focused on Dean and our daughter Isabella, and we are all very much looking forward to the arrival of our new family member."

Jake Paul ranks cruiserweight world champions and reveals he is in talks with TWO for shock title fight
JAKE PAUL says he is in talks to fight TWO of the cruiserweight world champions - having ranked the title holders. The YouTuber-turned-boxer - who only debuted as a professional in 2020 - has set his sights on challenging for 200lb gold after just 12 fights. 6 6 6 6 Current WBA and WBO unified champ Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez returns on Paul's June 28 undercard and WBC boss Badou Jack is also on his radar. Australia's pound-for-pound star and IBF holder Jai Opetaia is considered the best of the bunch - and Paul is in agreement. He said: "Zurdo and Jai are probably tied for No1 and I would say Badou is No2. "But all formidable opponents and we're in conversations with Zurdo and also Badou as as potential fights for next year." Ramirez, 33, faces Cuban Yuniel Dorticos, 39, the night Paul returns against former middleweight world champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. And promoter Oscar de la Hoya has talked up a shock bout between Ramirez and Paul in the future. Meanwhile Jack, 41, opened the door to defending his green and gold belt against the former Disney Channel actor, sparking behind-the-scenes conversations. "So it's just about what makes sense and we'll see when the negotiations come but I would for sure entertain a fight with him." Paul drops back down to the 14st 4lb cruiserweight limit of 200lbs after bulking up TWO STONE to fight at heavyweight against Mike Tyson. But he admitted to getting "too fat" at 227lb (16st 2lb) for his points win over Tyson - who controversially returned at aged 58. "It was just too much and my body wasn't made for it," he said. "And even when I got into the ring I just felt too fat. So cruiserweight is definitely the perfect weight for me." Paul was close to agreeing a blockbuster May 3 bout in Las Vegas against Canelo Alvarez, 34, until the Mexican walked away from the deal. So Paul turned his attention to an exhibition bout against WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis - despite their FIVE STONE difference. But Davis is now set to rematch Lamont Roach in August after their controversial New York draw in March. Paul, 28, finally called upon ex-middleweight world champ Chavez Jr, 39, back down at his natural and more comfortable weight. He said ahead of the June 28 DAZN PPV: "I wanted the hardest and the biggest fights, which was first Canelo then Gervonta fell through. "And then at any given point in time we're negotiating or talking with five to six fighters to see who's down and ready to fight and making a date happen. "And after Canelo and Gervonta, we were talking to multiple people and Chavez was the one to step up, that made sense for me to stay active and get a fight in June. "So really it's just the long line and I just need more time but I'm gonna get to all of these names when the stars aligned." 6
