Chargers' Denzel Perryman released from custody (Getty Images) Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman has been cleared of felony gun charges and released from custody, according to official records. The 32-year-old veteran, who was arrested last Friday night after a traffic stop led to the discovery of multiple firearms in his vehicle, will not face prosecution. The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office has opted not to pursue charges at this time, marking a significant turn in what could have become a career-altering situation. Denzel Perryman walks free after gun charges dropped, avoids prosecution in shocking legal twist Denzel Perryman had spent the weekend in custody without bail after South Los Angeles Station deputies discovered five firearms — including two assault-style rifles — during a routine traffic stop for vehicle code violations. Despite the seriousness of the initial report, no charges were filed, and Perryman's record will reflect a detention rather than a formal arrest. His agent, Ron Butler, confirmed the decision on Monday. 'We're grateful the matter has been resolved,' Butler said in a statement to The Athletic. 'At this time, Denzel is focused on getting back to his family and teammates.' Perryman was slated to appear in court Tuesday morning, but Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman returned the case to law enforcement for 'further investigation,' leaving Perryman free to resume his football responsibilities. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like This new air conditioner cools down a room in just seconds News of the Discovery Undo Support from the Chargers and coach Jim Harbaugh Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh personally visited Perryman while he was in custody, reflecting the organization's belief in the veteran's character. 'Unable to tie rakhi this year': Newlywed lecturer dies by suicide after months of abuse; suicide note blames husband
VIJAYAWADA: A 24-year-old newlywed woman died by suicide, allegedly driven to the extreme step due to relentless physical and emotional abuse by her husband near Vuyyur in Krishna district. The deceased, Srividya, left behind a detailed suicide note accusing her husband, Rambabu, a village surveyor, of repeated domestic violence and humiliation. According to police, Srividya, who worked as a lecturer at a private college and held an MSc degree, was found hanging at her residence when no one else was home. Her parents, devastated by the incident, filed a complaint, following which Vuyyuru police registered a case and launched an investigation. During the course of the investigation, it was found that Srividya was married to Rambabu from Kalavapamula village about six months ago. The suicide note reportedly reveals that the abuse began just a few weeks into the marriage. In the letter, Srividya described how her husband would frequently beat her, insult her in front of others, and compare her unfavourably to another woman named Sai. She recounted instances where he would pull her by the hair, bang her head against doors and furniture, and hurl abusive language at her and her parents. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You To Read in 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Srividya also mentioned that she endured these assaults in silence for months while confiding in her family about the ongoing harassment. The letter further highlights that Srividya suffered severe headaches due to repeated head injuries inflicted by her husband. She expressed anguish over the verbal humiliation, especially when Rambabu allegedly made demeaning remarks in front of another woman, leaving her emotionally scarred. She noted that even while she was correcting exam papers at home, Rambabu tore them up and threw them away. Srividya's final words in the suicide note conveyed her emotional distress ahead of Raksha Bandhan, expressing sorrow that she would not be able to tie a rakhi for her younger brother this year. She urged her family to take care of her parents and requested police not to spare her husband and his family, whom she held responsible for her death. Rambabu is currently absconding. Police who reached the spot after being alerted conducted preliminary inquiries and moved the body to a govt hospital for postmortem examination. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
