Alizeh Shah is not letting criticism slide
The actor added that her mother never forced her to follow "outdated ideas" of how a girl should dress. "[My mother] never imposed tradition on me. She raised me with love, not limitations. She saw me for the child I was, and the emotional, expressive woman I was becoming," Alizeh said.
The Taqdeer actor questioned the recent upsurge of outrage directed at her, expressing confusion over why it is happening now. She wondered if these reactions were prompted by her being honest about her dressing and not complying with someone else's standards of who she must be.
"This isn't about clothes. It's about control," she said. "I'm not here to be anyone's idea of 'acceptable'. I've worked for everything I have, and I don't need your permission. What's truly disturbing isn't my appearance - it's the obsession with tearing someone down just because they're visible. If my confidence bothers you, maybe ask yourself why."
Slamming double standards, Alizeh asserted that those who point out faults in women online must stop engaging with content from actors and influencers overall.
"Islam teaches us to reflect on our own actions before judging others. Telling a woman she must wear a burqa or leave her profession is not your role," she said. "Everyone is accountable to Allah, not to public opinion. Let people work and live with dignity. This world is hard enough - especially for women - so instead of policing them, focus on your own path."

Stop trolling celebs, pleads Juggun Kazim
In the wake of her public and private reconciliation with young actor Alizeh Shah, host Juggun Kazim has taken some of her followers to task by demanding to know why trolling is their go-to response to celebrities. "Even though Alizeh and I have settled our differences, the sad thing is that the trolling is still ongoing. What is our problem as a nation, as human beings?" began Juggun in a 10-minute video aptly titled 'Why Can't We Stop Trolling?' on her YouTube channel. "Why do we find comfort in inflicting pain on others? I just don't understand it." Juggun's video comes against the backdrop of an apology she issued to Alizeh after the latter called her out for causing public humiliation in the past. Juggun offered a public video apology to Alizeh when the issue came to light. However, Juggun added that amid the congratulatory messages from her followers came the inevitable series of negative comments. "I thought this was the best way of dealing with the matter," continued Juggun. "It is so simple. A person makes a mistake and they apologise for it [...] why has this become such a big deal? Why are people still going on social media and discussing whether or not it was the right thing to do and whether or not it would make any difference to Alizeh?" In addition to lamenting that even the simple act of issuing an apology can be deconstructed for additional meaning, Juggun stressed that she would not share her private conversations with Alizeh over the matter, despite requests from followers for screenshots. However, what angered Juggun even more is that repeated trolling Alizeh continues to be subjected to. Noting that she had received a "beautiful" response from the young actor, Juggun delivered a scathing takedown of cultural response to trauma. "Alizeh is upset! Her heart is broken, but in our society, when someone is going through an emotional trauma, instead of giving them love and support, we start trolling them instead. Please, guys! She's a young person dealing with memories of being mistreated in the industry – of which I, too, played a part. She's dealing with PTSD!" Having acknowledged her own hand in Alizeh's past trauma, Juggun once again urged viewers to "please stop trolling people." "How much free time do people have that they find someone to follow online and then leave negative comments on all their posts and humiliate them on their own social media?" wondered the Morning With Juggun host. "Is insulting celebrities our only entertainment left? If we don't protect our own people, who will?"

Juggun Kazim responds to Alizeh Shah's accusations with public apology
In a recent turn of events in the Pakistani entertainment industry, veteran TV host and actor Juggan Kazim has publicly apologized to fellow actress Alizeh Shah following allegations that she once mocked a past mishap involving Shah. The controversy came to light after Alizeh Shah posted a candid video on social media, where she opened up about the disrespect and mistreatment she claims to have faced from various senior industry figures throughout her career. Among those she named were singer Shazia Manzoor, actor-director Yasir Nawaz, and television personality Juggan Kazim. Alizeh specifically recounted an incident where Juggan allegedly made fun of a fall she once had during Bridal Couture Week 2021 - an episode Shah says left her feeling embarrassed and humiliated. The imitation, according to Alizeh, was done insensitively and in a way that made her feel like the butt of a joke. In response, Juggan Kazim took to Instagram with a sincere video message directed at Alizeh. Referring to her as 'beta,' Kazim expressed remorse for unintentionally causing any pain. 'Alizeh beta, I'm calling you beta because you're the same age as my son. If anything I said or did caused you distress, I'm genuinely sorry,' she said. 'It hurt me when you said you used to respect me before and don't feel that way now.' Kazim explained that the video Alizeh referred to was recorded four years ago and that she had no idea it still carried emotional weight. She added 'if you had contacted me directly, I would have immediately apologized.' But she continued, 'Now that you've spoken about it publicly, I'm responding the same way.' This hit home for Juggun in particular, as she revealed that she too had once been on the receiving end of bullying during her early days in the entertainment industry. 'I know how damaging it is to be singled out or laughed at,' she said. 'I would never want a younger colleague to feel that way because of me.' The apology has been widely shared and appreciated online, with social media users praising Kazim's accountability and grace. Many lauded her approach as one other seniors in the industry could learn from. Designer Hussain Sheheryar Yasin echoed the sentiment, commenting under a post, 'Now that's a class act. Love you, Juggun.'

Brittany Renner posts without hijab for first time in almost a year, sparks mixed reactions online
Brittany Renner, who recently confirmed her divorce from rapper Kevin Gates after just 52 days of marriage, took to Instagram to clarify her stance on several issues, including her journey with Islam and what seem s to be her decision to remove her hijab. Renner's whirlwind relationship with Gates, which started earlier this year, ended just over a month after their marriage, drawing attention due to the brevity of the union and her public conversion to Islam in January. In a recent Instagram post, Renner shared a video of herself without the hijab, accompanied by a message expressing her unwillingness to conform to others' expectations. The video featured a bold text overlay, which read, 'I'm not interested in shrinking myself to fit in anywhere.' In the caption, Renner reinforced her message, writing, "I don't have blind loyalty to any person, place, or thing. I also don't need excuses to do what I want to do because I accept whatever comes behind my decisions. It's still Alhamdulillah for everything! Hope this helps 👁️👄👁️." This post served as a statement of empowerment, showing her decision-making process and emphasizing personal autonomy over societal pressures. Renner's decision to publicly remove the hijab came shortly after she confirmed the details of her brief marriage to Gates. During an interview with Real 92.3 LA, Renner explained that the couple had married on April 6 and divorced on May 28. She also mentioned the Islamic 90-day waiting period required after a marriage, which allows for reconciliation or confirmation of pregnancy, but this period ended without them reconciling. According to Renner, this timeframe is meant to give couples a chance to reassess their relationship, and she used this period as a "90-day reset" to focus on herself. Despite the marriage's short duration, she stated that she had no regrets and was comfortable with her decisions, noting that Islam had made a positive impact on her life. Her decision to remove the hijab after converting to Islam earlier this year has generated mixed reactions on social media. Some people speculated that the move was tied to her divorce from Gates, while others defended her right to make her own choices. I try not to judge but the fact that Brittany Renner came out of that hijab soon as she broke up with Kevin Gates is insane lol. The fact that you are on national television portraying a 'Muslim' woman is surprising. First of all, playing with faith is quite serious. Islam is and will always be perfect, Muslims are not." This response highlighted the ongoing struggles that many Muslim women face regarding the hijab and expressed support for Renner's personal journey. Supporters on social media also applauded Renner for her honesty and self-empowerment, with one person commenting, 'The most beautiful part of getting to the destination is the journey! You're so beautiful girl.' Another added, 'Muslims don't always wear hijabs,' underscoring that wearing the hijab is a personal decision and not a requirement for every Muslim woman. Renner's candidness about her choices and her ongoing evolution has earned her admiration, with many expressing pride in her openness and resilience.
