A MAGA Voter's Reddit Post Breaking Down 5 Reasons They'll Be Voting "All Blue" In The Midterms Is Going Viral
A Reddit post by a MAGA voter has recently gone viral for breaking down five reasons why they are abandoning Trump and planning to vote blue in the 2026 midterms.

At the start of the post, the MAGA voter explained their last-minute decision to vote for Trump on Election Day...
They described feeling that Trump "got his ass beat" by Kamala Harris in the presidential debate, but did not like that the DNC was "open to big corporations and corporate donors."
Their decision to vote for Trump also was inspired by Trump joining forces with RFK Jr., which they felt could improve nutrition policies. "Nutrition is a huge thing for me..."

The MAGA voter also assumed that Trump could end the Ukraine/Russia war due to his close relationship with Vladimir Putin. "I felt Trump would calm down the Ukraine/Russia conflict...to basically say 'stop this shit' and create a calmer world for us."
But, according to the MAGA voter, everything went south with the Trump administration's handling of the Epstein files. "Guy thinks we're stupid. He campaigns on the Epstein files, realizes he's on there and now is telling us to stop worrying about it."
The White House has called the Wall Street Journal's claim that Trump was notified by the Attorney General that his name was in the Epstein files a "fake news story."

The MAGA voter also called out Trump's attempts to get rid of the Department of Education. "I know he brought this up during his campaign, but I thought he'd be sensible enough to work across the aisle with Democrats on this matter, but this is insane."
They also called out Trump's "Big, Beautiful, Bill" that they described as "abhorrently terrible."
As well as Trump's tariffs increasing costs for young people. "Wtf is this guy thinking other countries will pay more. We're the ones having to foot the cost."
They took issue with Trump's immigration and deportation policies call them "messed up," because Trump has given ICE "free will to do whatever."

And finally, the post ended with a promise to abandon Trump in the midterms. "I will absolutely be voting all blue come the midterms and will be voting for a sensible democrat next election."
After reading the post, most people in the comments were not exactly applauding the MAGA voter for their switch-up.
"Wow, this is someone who even seems to have paid more attention than most, but also somehow discounted 99% of things Trump said he'd do. I just can't with that level of cognitive dissonance," one user said.
"'She didn't have any ideas that I considered fresh and new, so I figured I may as well vote for the guy who babbled utter nonsense instead,'" another user wrote sarcastically, referencing the voter's comments on the presidential debate.
"This sounds like a lot of people in my family's rationale for voting Trump, who should have had enough common sense to think things through. They'll never admit they're wrong and vote democrat though. At least this person realized they were wrong, albeit way too late," this user wrote.
"They really give him too much credit thinking these pie in the sky thoughts that'd he abolish everything he said he would, and replace it all with something way better, which he never had a plan to do."

Orange County elections supervisor plans more voting sites, new office
The sign at the entrance to the Orange County Supervisor of Elections office is still partially made of construction paper. Inside, Karen Castor Dentel's staff closed her door for the first time as she prepared for her interview – and promptly got everyone in the office stuck when it refused to open again. Such is the way at the office as it recovers from the chaotic regime of her predecessor and a scandal that consumed the oxygen in the county for weeks last fall. At times, payroll was uncertain as leaders worked to recover $5 million that Glen Gilzean was accused of spending on pet projects instead of the core needs. When WFTV sat down with Castor Dentel last Tuesday, she was proudly able to announce that her office had finished paying off the last of the overdue bills and paid its poll workers on the day of the election. She quickly got about to discussing the priorities and improvement she promised voters but had to delay while getting her office organized. 'We've got to find new ways to connect with people,' she said. One of Castor Dentel's biggest priorities for the upcoming year include opening six new early voting sites to avoid the long lines the county saw in the 2024 election. She said the locations have not been chosen, but they're scouting places that are both ADA accessible and have ample parking. 'I saw so many people slowing down, looking like they were going to come vote, but then seeing the line, just kept driving,' she said. 'We don't want to turn away any voters.' She's also focused on getting voters registered. Her plans include opening a satellite office inside the Tax Collector's office at the West Oaks Mall in Ocoee where people can register to vote and get information about upcoming elections. She also spoke about a proposal to create a 'Vote-Mobile,' a truck that serves as a rolling billboard for the office with QR codes on the sides they can take to events and parades. 'You can imagine, if you're the Vote Mobile is in a parade going down the street, and people are sitting there. They can get the QR code while they're sitting there and update their voter registration right there -- right there -- while they're sitting on the sidewalk,' she said. That, she said, would address the challenge created by the new state law that resets mail-in voting requests every two years. Currently, just 10% of the 300,000 voters who received mail-in ballots in November have renewed those requests. One of her ideas to connect with voters has already been implemented. She partnered with OCPS and the League of Women Voters this past spring to attend each school's senior check out day, which gave her office a chance to capture the county's youngest civic participants. Her agenda also contains more far-out items. One is to upgrade security measures and take over responsibilities as the Department of Homeland Security continues to cut back under President Trump. Another is to find a new office space. She said her workers need about three times more square footage and their current majority-warehouse setup does not work. Their buildings are also old and for sale. Finally, she reminded voters that there were elections in progress for senate and house seats in Tallahassee. 'It's not too late to ask for your vote by mail ballot,' she said, mentioning an August 21 deadline and four early voting sites. 'Election Day is September 2, which falls the day after Labor Day weekend. We would love it if people didn't skip out on this election.' 3 dead, including off-duty police officer, in Midtown Manhattan shooting: Sources A man wielding a long gun shot and killed three people, including an off-duty police officer working security in Midtown Manhattan, sources told ABC News The incident occurred in an office building located at 345 Park Ave., sources said. After apparently barricading himself on the 33rd floor, the suspect was found dead from what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, sources added. Surveillance footage captured the suspect outside the building armed with a long gun, according to sources. The motive is currently under investigation, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said. There is a lockdown at the office building, which contains the headquarters for the investment company Blackstone and the National Football League, sources said. It is unclear if those companies, or any company in the building, were tied to the shooting. Some of the employees inside 345 Park Ave. have been advised that the threat "has been resolved," but are being asked to continue sheltering in place and only leave the building with a police escort, according to a message sent to employees. New York City Mayor Eric Adams earlier warned residents to avoid the area amid the "active shooter investigation." The New York City Police Department also urged people to avoid the vicinity of East 52nd Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue due to police activity.
