Emma Raducanu drops clues on Carlos Alcaraz relationship – ‘Could be something'
Emma Raducanu is claimed to be "besotted" with Carlos Alcaraz, according to a body language expert who analysed her recent revealing interview. The British tennis sensation is set to join forces with the two-time Wimbledon champion at the US Open mixed doubles tournament in August, a partnership that's been making waves in the tennis world.
While there's far from anything official to suggest a romantic link between the pair, whispers of a blossoming romance continue to heat up. In a recent BBC interview, the 22-year-old opened up about how their partnership came about and was quizzed about online chatter suggesting they're "destined for each other".
A giggling Raducanu responded: "I'm glad the internet is having fun and we're providing some entertainment for everyone. We go back a long way and I think we both started getting to know each other a lot more in 2021.
"When I had that little run at Wimbledon, I think he won in five sets in the first round or something. And then all through the US Open, he had a big breakout win against Stef [Tsitsipas] in the third round but I was always trying to, like, join him in the next round because he was playing the day before me.
"Ever since, we've stayed in touch and he's done so well since and continued winning. It's been amazing to see because we were speaking and friends before anyone won anything."
Speaking to OLBG, Stanton was struck by Raducanu 's reactions during her BBC interview as he said: "I think Emma Raducanu is besotted with Carlos Alcaraz. In her interview with the BBC, you can see that her face lights up and her pupils dilate.
"You can tell when her emotion shifts from speaking about general tennis to when she gets asked the question about what's being said on the internet having fun on speculation. When she gets asked about the rumours, she shifts emotion because she starts to look down and left.
"Looking up is remembering general things and pictures as you're trying to think, whereas when people look down and left, she's accessing something called internal auditory dialogue. She goes from instantaneously answering to considering what she's about to say very carefully. I'm not saying there's a full-blown relationship going on but there's one of two things.
"Either they're very close and there could be something there down the line or it's wishful thinking on her part, because there's something that causes that emotional shift and it happens at the same time that she talks about general tennis, to then talking about him and their relationship.
"I don't think it's anything yet, so it could be a close friendship that could allude to something in the future, or she really loves the idea of those two being an item."
As Wimbledon is set to begin this weekend, Alcaraz had the perfect warm-up by capturing victory at Queen's on Sunday, defeating Jiri Lehecka in the final to claim his fifth title of the season.
On the other hand, Raducanu's preparations were cut short as she was knocked out in the second round of the Lexus Eastbourne Open by Australian starlet Maya Joint on Wednesday.
Alcaraz has won the last two majors at the All England Club and could become the first men's player since Roger Federer to claim three straight Wimbledon titles, which would take his Grand Slam tally to six.

England's Under-21 upstarts are outshining the senior stars of the Club World Cup in a free-to-air TV ratings battle between Channel 4 and 5. A total of 24 per cent of the key target growth audience of 18 to 34 year-old viewers were watching, with an average audience of just under 0.9 million. Channel 4 later disclosed that England's quarter-final victory over Spain was its highest audience of all, with a two million peak audience. Those numbers do not include those streaming the match online. Group stage England matches, meanwhile, reached a peak of 1.3 million. The other semi-final – which saw Germany beat France – featured on streaming channel Channel 4seven and had a peak audience of over 300,000. Executives at 5, meanwhile, confirmed privately that Chelsea's Group D opening match, which captured a 15 per cent share of the viewing audience, remains the best audience so far. For both broadcasters, rights packages were picked up for nominal fees and are said to have been in line with expectations. The Chelsea fixture averaged 1.4 million viewers, with Lee Sears, president of Paramount International Advertising Sales, describing numbers as a 'standout moment for 5, driving big numbers including new and hard to reach younger audiences to the channel'. 'It's a clear example of how premium live sport can outperform our channel average and deliver real value to both viewers and advertisers,' Sears added. The new four year domestic cycle is worth £6.7 billion and begins after a season in which viewer numbers fell by 10 per cent as Liverpool breezed to the title. Under Channel 5's sub-licensing deal for the Club World Cup, it is broadcasting 23 of the tournament's 63 matches free-to-air in the UK. DAZN, the main rights-holder, is showing every fixture free on its platforms. The tournament itself has received criticism, not helped by poor attendances inside stadiums for some matches. While 5 audiences are likely to grow in the Club World Cup latter stages, Channel 4's hopes are now resting entirely on Saturday's mouth-watering final against Germany. England are one match away from winning back-to-back Euros after Harvey Elliott's brilliant double set up the showdown in Bratislava. England won the tournament for the first time in 39 years in 2023, and Lee Carsley's side could now match the feat of successive triumphs in 1982 and 1984.

Suffolk family host festival in tribute to father killed in Tunisia terror attacks 10 years ago
Natalie Gray speaks to the Cullen family 10 years on from the terror attack which killed Stuart Cullen The family of a man who was shot and killed in a terror attack at a Tunisian holiday resort a decade ago say a festival they have organised is a fitting way to celebrate his memory. Stuart Cullen, 52, was on holiday with his wife Christine in the resort of Sousse when a gunman opened fire, killing him and 37 other, mostly British tourists, on 26 June 2015. Ten years on, Mrs Cullen, who also sustained injuries during the massacre, and the couple's daughter Emma-Jayne Herbert, 32, are hosting a special event to mark the 10th anniversary of his death. The event, called Here Comes The Sun - Stu's Festival will be held at The Plough at Blundeston in Suffolk on Saturday with all proceeds going to the child bereavement charity Nelson's Journey. Recalling the events of 2015, Mrs Cullen, from Carlton Colville in Suffolk, told ITV News Anglia: "We were running out of the front of the hotel. We were almost to safety. "The bomb went off and I could see, because of the amount of blood that was there that there was nothing I could do and I just looked at him and I said 'I love you' and he said 'I love you too' and then he slipped away." Their daughter was back in the UK working as a freelance photographer in London during the attack. She said she instinctively knew something terrible had happened. Mrs Herbert said: "It was definitely the hardest day I've ever experienced in my life - just galling not knowing but yet knowing something is wrong. "I guess the whole world stood still and I could feel it in my bones that I had lost someone." The family were very close and referred to themselves as The Three Musketeers but Mrs Cullen believes her late husband would be proud that the pair were holding a music festival. She said: "He would love it and the fact we are having a beer and listening to great music - even better." Mrs Herbert added: "He would want us to spread light and positivity and not be wallowing and be by ourselves. "He would want us to be surrounded by our family and friends and having a good time." The event will include "live music, activities for all the family, and the largest raffle you've ever seen" according to the Facebook page. Nelson's Journey - a bereavement charity helping children - will be the beneficiaries. Mrs Herbert said: "My mum and I wouldn't have gotten through the past 10 years without the support of charities, our family liaison officers and family and friends, so Nelson's Journey feels close to our hearts, offering the support that we know is so imperative for others to move forward and continue to live their lives after a huge bereavement." When Mrs Herbert got married, her mother gave her away in an outfit she had made from one of her Mr Cullen's suits. Now, she is expecting her first baby, and admits that not having her father around is difficult. She said: "Without Dad the life milestones are definitely so much harder. Even now, with the new baby on the way we know that we keep Dad alive by adopting his values. "Although he won't be here to see it he'll still be very much a part of it."

'BBC journalists are of course entitled to use their judgement to decide which stories to cover and the manner in which they are reported. We also want our headlines to be as informative as possible. When the episode aired, devout Whovians were not expecting the huge twist at the end when Ncuti's character regenerated into Rose amid his departure after just two series as woke storylines saw ratings for the much-loved show plunge. Billie first starred as the companion to the ninth Doctor in 2005, playing Rose Tyler alongside Christopher Eccleston's Time Lord. She went onto star alongside David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor in the second series. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, fans were quick to share their reaction to Billie's shock comeback, with one even asking: ''Did my eyes actually deceive me?!'
