'Now we're the club everyone is laughing at'
So the fat lady put on her make-up and sang so loudly she was probably heard in Nottingham.Last time we were relegated we had some fight. It went to the last game of the season. This lot seemingly do not know how to fight. This club is now rotten from the top (no pun intended). On the day we were relegated, our owner sat in his comfy seat laughing with his director of football who, along with our chief executive, have led us to some of the biggest losses in our history. An article on Monday said Leicester City are at a crossroads and in need of a rebuild. No we are not. We are at a dead end and could turn into Luton Town mark two.Top did not agree with Jon Rudkin's choice of manager and said so publicly while identifying Ruud van Nistelrooy as his choice. How did that work out?Not so long ago we were the club everyone looked up to. Now we are the club everyone is laughing at.Yes, these are the people that took us to unbelievable highs. But every clock is right twice a day, and now sadly our time is up.Find more from Chris Forryan at Leicester Till I Die, external

Jamie Vardy weighs up Champions League option after leaving Leicester
Jamie Vardy is set to have a number of options on the table after leaving Leicester City and at least one of those could give him a shot at Champions League football Jamie Vardy is weighing up a Rangers move which could offer him a Champions League return. It would represent a first chance of playing in European football's top club competition since 2016-17, when he took part for Leicester City. Vardy played nine Champions League games for Leicester in the season after their Premier League title win, scoring in games against Sevilla and Atletico Madrid. He is leaving the King Power Stadium this summer, though, after scoring 200 goals in 500 matches for the Foxes. The 38-year-old is likely to have a number of options on the table as a free agent. According to The Mail, Rangers are now in the mix for a player who has also attracted interest from Major League Soccer and the Saudi Pro League. Rangers will enter next season's Champions League in the second qualifying round after finishing second behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. They were eliminated from the same competition in the third qualifying round this term, losing to Dyamo Kyiv and dropping into the Europa League. The Glasgow club have yet to appoint a new permanent manager after Barry Ferguson's spell in interim charge. Russell Martin and Davide Ancelotti are among the favourites for the post, but early contender Steven Gerrard won't be returning to Ibrox. It wouldn't be the first time Rangers have explored a move for Vardy. Their former manager Ally McCoist claimed in 2022 that they pushed for the striker when he was still at Fleetwood Town, only to be priced out of a move. "I tried to get Vardy when he was at Fleetwood, believe it or not. I couldn't get the money," McCoist told talkSPORT in 2022. "My coach John Brown watched Jamie Vardy. He had a great eye for a player, he watched him for 45 minutes and sent me a message saying: 'We need to get this lad'. That's a fact! "Clearly that wasn't to be. There are probably a few more (that we nearly signed) I could think of off the top of my head but Vardy was probably the biggest one." Former Leicester striker Gary Lineker was among those to praise Vardy after the striker confirmed his exit. "I'd like to just thank Jamie for all he's done for Leicester City Football Club," Lineker said. "He's inimitable. He can be a bit of a s***house at times on the pitch for everyone, but I always think in a brilliant way. He's been one of the game's great finishers. "He's done some incredible things. He was part of obviously the title-winning team in 2016 and then the FA Cup -winning team as well. He's been incredibly consistent and has very much been an absolute hero of all Leicester City fans. So thank you, Jamie Vardy, and good luck with whatever comes next.'

Vardy has been linked with moves to clubs in England, Spain, the MLS and Saudi Arabia. And it now seems Rangers - under new American ownership - could also be in the hunt for his signature, according to the Daily Mail. The England international struck 200 times for Leicester in 500 appearances after signing for £1million from Fleetwood Town in 2012. He fired Leicester to a historic Premier League title in 2016 with 24 goals that season. Leicester's success is widely considered to be one of the best sporting achievements, starting the campaign as 5000/1 outsiders. They also clinched their first FA Cup in 2021 in what was a remarkable period for the club. Rangers icon Ally McCoist, who revealed he tried to sign the striker during his spell as manager at the club, recently said he would "take him in two minutes". He told TalkSport in 2020: "I remember looking at him when he was at Fleetwood and I was at Rangers. "I had John Brown, my chief scout, look at him two or three times and it was an absolute no-brainer but we couldn't get the money to sign him. Emotional Leicester fans say 'delete this' as club share pics of Jamie Vardy packing his things into a cardboard box "He's been fantastic. I couldn't get the money at that time, and we weren't talking about a lot of money. "It was unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. It was more the position our club was in at that particular time to tell you the truth. "Thankfully for Jamie he made the correct decision and never let me anywhere near him!" The Rangers revolution is beginning at Ibrox with the club under new American ownership. They are also being linked with Europa League winner Almamy Toure. The 29-year-old defender is a free agent after leaving German second division side Kaiserslautern. Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

What do the stats say about United's impressive season?
Dundee United's impressive fourth-placed finish on their return to the Scottish Premiership has garnered plenty of what do the stats say about how Jim Goodwin's men fared?United were solid rather than spectacular, an effectiveness amplified by their results. Only twice did they win a league game and score more than two goals in the process. Eight of their 15 league wins were by a 1-0 loanee Sam Dalby bagging 15 goals on his own certainly racked up an xG (expected goals) of 48.53 - below the league average of 52.79 - so their 45 goals in the league is a slight underperformance and they outscored only the bottom two Ross County and St errors led to goals being conceded, too, the league's third-highest number. A sturdy defensive unit was key to their success, Goodwin's side were content to cede possession - their average of 42.93% ranks them eighth in the Premiership - their clean sheet tally of 12 is bettered only by Celtic and Rangers, and goalkeeper Jack Walton impressed again on loan from Luton overperformed compared to their xG against of 56.31 - pretty much bang on the league average - by conceding 54 goals, further suggesting a stout defence. And only four sides let in fewer goals than the Tannadice the post-split fixtures, United never went longer than four games without a top-flight matchday seven in early October, they beat St Mirren 1-0 away and climbed to fifth. Remarkably, they would never be lower than that for the rest of the season.
