Why YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra's father failed to meet her in court
Haryana YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who has been arrested for allegedly spying for Islamabad and being in touch with Pakistani officials, was produced in a Hisar court on Thursday. Her father, Harish Malhotra, who wanted to see his daughter, also reached the court. However, by the time he had reached, Jyoti had already left, The Tribune reported.
Harish Malhotra said someone gave him the wrong time. "I was told that she would be produced in court in the afternoon, so I went there then. But by the time I reached the venue, she had already left. Someone gave me the wrong timing," the report quoted him as saying.

Jyoti Malhotra was produced before the court of civil judge (junior division) Sunil Kumar in Haryana amid heavy security around 9.30 am and remained there until nearly 11 am.
During the hearing, Jyoti's police custody was extended by four days while the police sought a seven-day remand.
The YouTuber, 33, who hails from Haryana's Hisar, was arrested on May 16 on charges of allegedly spying for Pakistan. She was produced in a local court the next day and was sent to a five-day police custody. She was taken to the court on Thursday after her five-day remand ended.
Jyoti has been booked under Sections 3 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
She is among several people arrested from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh over the last few weeks over espionage charges.

So far, no evidence has emerged indicating that Jyoti had access to any sensitive information related to military or defence. However, she was definitely in touch with some Pakistani officials, according to Hisar police.
Jyoti Malhotra runs a YouTube channel called 'Travel with JO' where she shares her travel vlogs. She has uploaded several videos of her visit to Pakistan on her channel.

Man kills mother after domestic tiff in Saoner
Nagpur: A 25-year-old man murdered his mother in Saoner late Friday night over a domestic argument. Mukesh Maraskolhe, a daily wage worker who returned home to Pahilepar slums for a short visit, allegedly stabbed his 49-year-old mother, Pramila, during a late-night confrontation. Police say he attacked her from behind with a kitchen knife following a brief quarrel over alleged pestering by his mother about what he does, where he goes, etc. What stood out, officers said, wasn't just the brutality of the act but the accused's complete lack of remorse. Anjali alerted the police, who launched a swift manhunt. By 3am, Mukesh was found hiding barely a few lanes away in the same slum and was taken into custody. The victim lived with her husband, who is bedridden, and her elder son. Mukesh had no prior history of violence or complaints from family or neighbours. Police confirmed that no criminal record or signs of mental illness were reported in the past. A case was registered under Sections 103, 115(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. A local court remanded the accused to police custody till June 9.

Nashik city police arrest 23-year-old, recover 6 bikes of same make & model
Nashik: The city police arrested a 23-year-old man from Sangamner, for involvement in bike thefts. The man to whom the bike was sold was also arrested. Crime branch officials said, on May 28 a bike was stolen from Pathardi around 10pm. A case was subsequently registered with the Indiranagar police under sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Officials and personnel of the crime branch unit 2 visited the spot, and while checking CCTV footage coverage of the area, they found a person stealing a bike. The team checked footage from 35 CCTVs over the next two days to ascertain the trail of the suspect. The probe revealed that the suspect, Abhay Suresh Kharde of Zole in Sangamner taluka of Ahilyanagar, has past cases registered against him with various police stations for stealing bikes of a specific make. Police also received a tip-off that Kharde was coming from Sinnar Phata to Eklahara in the Nashik Road area to sell off a stolen bike. The police laid a trap and arrested the 23-year-old. The police recovered the stolen bike and a cellphone, all worth Rs1.15 lakh. The police said that with the arrest of Kharde, they detected six cases of vehicle theft registered across the city.
