Anthony Elanga backs ‘best in the world' Alexander Isak to remain focussed amid the ‘noise'
Liverpool have communicated their interest in paying around £120million ($138.7m) for Isak but Newcastle have reaffirmed their long-term stance that the 25-year-old is not for sale.

Newcastle saw an offer worth around €75m (£64.9m; $86.9m) rejected for Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike this week, and it now appears likely that the Frenchman will head to Anfield after Liverpool subsequently formalised their interest.
That is likely to strengthen Newcastle's resolve to keep Isak and Elanga, who joined from Nottingham Forest earlier this month for an initial £52m, is relishing working with his fellow Swede.
While he did not want to be drawn into where Isak's future may lie, Elanga backed his new club-mate to remain professional.
'I always try and focus on the present and the now and Alex being the person he is, one of the best attackers in the world, I think there's always going to be noise around him but he's the type of player who is always staying focused,' Elanga said, via a video call from Newcastle's pre-season training camp at Seefeld in the Austrian Alps.
'What he's shown in training is second to none and I'm looking forward to continuing training with him.
'There are so many great partnerships (here) but it would be great, Alex and me. The best striker in the world and someone that, not just as a player, he's an amazing person as well so I can always rely on him for advice and whatever. He's always going to be there to help me so I appreciate him a lot.'
Elanga and Isak are close, having played together regularly for Sweden over the last few years, but the winger did not divulge what the striker has communicated with his team-mates about his situation.
Instead, Elanga — who provided 11 assists last season, the third-most in the Premier League — is looking forward to supplying Isak in a Newcastle shirt, given the former Real Sociedad striker scored 23 top-flight goals in 2024-25.
'A player of his stature, there's always going to be noise around him,' Elanga said.

'He's one of the best players in the world, one of the best attackers in the world. I've played with him at international level so I can say so.
'There's always going to be noise around him but, at the end of the day, he's a Newcastle United player right now. I'm just trying to focus on what he's doing in training and speaking to him every day.'
The 23-year-old added: 'Whenever I speak to Alex it's always about good things – how my family is, how his family is and that's the first thing (he asked me): how my family is because he sees them all the time when he comes with the national team.'
Newcastle travel to Celtic for their opening pre-season friendly on Saturday, where Isak and Elanga may line up together at club level for the first time.
Eddie Howe's side secured a fifth-place finish last season and a return to the Champions League, two years after their last appearance in Europe's top club competition.

Pedulla Reveals Chelsea Bound Netherlands Star ‘Was On The Radar' Of Inter Milan
Alfredo Pedulla reveals that Xavi Simons was on the radar of Inter Milan before he moved towards a transfer to Chelsea. The SportItalia transfer market expert reported, via , that the Nerazzurri decided to go all-in on signing Ademola Lookman instead. Inter Milan are looking to make a big splash with an attacking signing this summer. The Nerazzurri have reportedly eyed up a few possible signings to bolster their forward options. In particular, they want a winger, attacking midfielder, or withdrawn forward. That would be to facilitate the move towards a 3-4-2-1 shape under Cristian Chivu. The Nerazzurri are by all accounts pushing to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman. However, the Nigerian is not the only player who the Nerazzurri have considered in this respect. And among the backup targets Inter considered in attack was RB Leipzig and Netherlands attacking midfielder Xavi Simons. The former PSG player now appears to be on the verge of a move to Chelsea, however. Pedulla Reveals Galatasaray Have Made ‘Massive Offer' For Inter Milan Linked PSG Star – Adds ‘Man City Also Eyeing Up A Deal'
Alfredo Pedulla reports that Galatasaray have made Galatasaray a massive offer, whilst Man City are also considering a deal. Pedulla reported, via FCInter1908, that there is a real chance Donnarumma could leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer. As things stand, Gianluigi Donnarumma still has not signed a new contract with PSG. And as La Repubblica report, talks between the Italian international and the Champions League winners have not really taken off. Donnarumma wants a wage increase from €10 million net per season to €12 million net. On the other hand, PSG are aiming lower than that. Inter Milan and Juventus have been persistently linked with a move to bring Donnarumma back to Serie A if he is to be available. However, the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri are far from the only clubs eyeing up the Italy captain's situation. Pedulla: 'Galatasaray Have Made Donnarumma A Massive Offer, Man City Also Keen' FLORENCE, ITALY – OCTOBER 08: Gianluigi Donnarumma of Italy looks on prior to the Italy training session at Centro Tecnico Federale di Coverciano on October 08, 2024 in Florence, Italy. (Photo by) Alfredo Pedulla reports that the next few days will be 'crucial' for Donnarumma's future. 'There's still no agreement on a contract extension, with his deal set to run out.' 'In fact, there's still a gap. So much so that Paris Saint-Germain are hedging their bets by targeting Lille's Chevalier, who's valued at €40 million.' And Pedulla notes that 'there's a lot of movement' on the Donnarumma front. 'Galatasaray, having settled the Osimhen issue, have made him a massive wage offer,' he reports. 'And they're ready to negotiate with PSG for a deal.' 'The keeper appreciates the Turkish club's effort,' adds Pedulla. 'But he's incline to wait.' 'Galatasaray have also sounded out Ederson, whose contract with City runs out next summer. He never had a chance of joining Napoli, but could interest other clubs.' 'Manchester City themselves are also monitoring Donnarumma,' Pedulla reports. 'That could be key.' 'Despite having reached an agreement to bring Trafford back from Burnely.' 'The English club have asked to be informed. And Guardiola is crazy about Donnarumma.' However, Pedulla cautions that 'Italian clubs, after having asked for information in the last few months, are currently holding back.'
