Google Pixel 10 ad leak reveals design, AI features ahead of launch
He went on to challenge the production choice, stating, 'If the Pixel camera's so good, why not just use it?'
What the leaks reveal
Although the Pixel 10 is yet to be officially announced, the leaked images suggest a design closely resembling the Pixel 9 Pro. The visuals show two circular sensors—believed to be a flash and a thermometer sensor—alongside the power button, volume rocker, and oval-like camera lenses, just like its predecessor. The included storyboards place a strong focus on the camera. One showcases a clean product shot, while another appears to highlight a feature titled 'Add Me.' Also visible in the leak are two distant real-world shots of the Pixel 10 Pro in the black Obsidian finish, again echoing the look of the Pixel 9 Pro.
Given Google's recent AI announcements around its Gemini platform at I/O 2025, it's likely the Pixel 10 will arrive equipped with enhanced generative AI (GenAI) features.

Indian-origin man offers over ₹3302152 crore to Google just to buy…
Perplexity AI, led by Indian-origin CEO Aravind Srinivas, has made an unsolicited $34.5 billion (over ₹3,02,152 crore) all-cash bid to acquire Google Chrome, according to a Reuters report. The offer is far above Perplexity's own valuation and marks the latest bold move from the three-year-old AI startup. Aravind Srinivas with Indian PM Narendra Modi.(Aravind Srinivas/Instagram) The company, which has raised around $1 billion from investors including Nvidia and SoftBank, was last valued at $14 billion. It claims multiple funds have offered to finance the deal in full, though no names were disclosed. Mobile finder: iPhone 17 Air expected to debut next month The bid comes amid regulatory pressure on Google, with the US Justice Department seeking remedies to address what a court ruled was an unlawful monopoly in online search. One proposed measure includes forcing Google to divest Chrome. Google has said it plans to appeal and has not indicated any intention to sell the browser. Analysts expect a legal process, if initiated, could take years and may reach the Supreme Court. Perplexity's proposal pledges to: -Keep Chrome's underlying Chromium code open-source -Invest $3 billion over two years in the browser -Retain Chrome's default search engine settings The company says its plan would 'preserve user choice' and reduce competition concerns. Rivals such as OpenAI, Yahoo, and Apollo Global Management have also shown interest in Chrome, while DuckDuckGo's CEO has estimated its potential forced-sale value at no less than $50 billion. Founded in 2022 by Aravind Srinivas along with Denis Yarats, Johnny Ho, and Andy Konwinski, Perplexity has grown rapidly with its conversational AI search engine, which delivers cited answers in real time. The company recently launched Comet, its own AI-powered browser, and says acquiring Chrome would allow it to access over three billion users worldwide — significantly boosting its ability to compete with OpenAI and others in the AI-driven search space. Srinivas, a Chennai-born IIT Madras graduate, previously worked at Google and interned under deep learning pioneer Yoshua Bengio before launching Perplexity in San Francisco. Under his leadership, the startup has expanded globally, including a partnership with Bharti Airtel in May 2025 that gave 360 million Indian users free access to Perplexity Pro. Despite the high-profile bid, industry experts remain sceptical that Google would part with Chrome, which plays a central role in its AI strategy, including the rollout of AI-generated search summaries under the 'Overviews' feature.

Inside the AI push at US universities: How Barnard, Columbia, NYU and MIT are preparing students for the age of artificial intelligence
Barnard College has joined a growing group of institutions embedding artificial intelligence directly into student life. Beginning August 1, students can access Google's Gemini and NotebookLM through their Barnard email accounts, following a July 29 announcement. The rollout is part of an expanded agreement with Google and was framed as a step toward giving every student a 'basic level of AI literacy.' This move is not happening in isolation. Across the United States, universities are racing to integrate AI tools, professional development pathways, and ethical training into their academic offerings, signalling that AI proficiency is becoming a core graduate skill. Structured AI literacy framework at Barnard College Barnard's approach goes beyond simply providing access to AI platforms. The college has developed a four-level AI Literacy Framework, outlined in its official publications and used across student and faculty training. This framework progresses from basic awareness of AI concepts to advanced, discipline-specific applications, and culminates in critical evaluation and ethical use. Workshops, AI studios, and collaborative learning sessions planned for the fall are aligned with this structure, ensuring students build layered competencies. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like No annual fees for life UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo Columbia University: Professional pathways into AI leadership Columbia University's AI initiatives extend from campus tools to industry-focused training. The university offers a Professional Certificate Program in Artificial Intelligence, confirmed through its official course portals and partner sites. The program covers machine learning, robotics, and intelligent systems, and is designed for professionals and tech leaders. Learners can complete the program online or in an executive format, enabling both working professionals and on-campus participants to deepen their AI expertise. Alongside this, Columbia continues to provide campus-developed AI resources such as CU-GPT and CHAT, as well as access to ChatGPT Education. Its Center for Teaching and Learning supports faculty in creating assignments that combine AI tools with critical reflection. New York University: AI access across age groups and disciplines NYU is pursuing AI literacy at multiple levels of education. NYU Shanghai runs an AI Pre-College Summer Program that combines coding instruction in Python, NumPy, and PyTorch with discussions on AI ethics and hands-on project work. The program targets high school students seeking early exposure to AI. In addition, NYU's Tandon School of Engineering and other divisions offer high school summer programs, undergraduate research opportunities, and cross-disciplinary workshops designed to integrate AI into fields as varied as healthcare, media, and public policy. The university also provides its community with access to Gemini and NotebookLM, paired with guidance on responsible use. Massachusetts Institute of Technology: Multiple routes into AI mastery MIT has built an AI learning ecosystem that serves both technical and non-technical learners. Its Professional Certificate Program in Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence covers advanced topics and awards formal certification to graduates. For those without a coding background, MIT offers low- or no-code AI training routes, making the technology accessible to professionals in non-technical fields. MIT's commitment to accessibility extends globally, with foundational AI courses offered online to learners around the world. On campus, approved tools such as Adobe Firefly, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and Google Gemini are available under strict governance and security guidelines. The Responsible AI for Social Empowerment and Education (RAISE) initiative, including global outreach programs like FutureMakers and Day of AI, has reached more than a million K–12 students. Why the race is accelerating Technology companies are fuelling the trend. Google has committed one billion dollars over three years to provide AI tools, cloud resources, and training to more than 100 US universities. OpenAI and Anthropic are competing for partnerships, offering their platforms to campuses at no cost and supporting research initiatives. The academic argument for AI is also growing stronger. Well-designed AI tutors have been shown to improve student performance in certain disciplines, while educators continue to wrestle with questions about plagiarism, over-reliance, and the erosion of independent thinking. The road ahead Barnard's adoption of AI tools and its structured literacy framework place it alongside institutions like Columbia, NYU, and MIT in redefining what it means to graduate 'career-ready' in the AI era. While their strategies differ, Barnard with its tiered literacy model, Columbia with professional certifications, NYU with early-pipeline education, and MIT with both technical mastery and global outreach. They share a common goal: to ensure students leave campus not just with access to AI, but with the ability to use it critically, ethically, and effectively. TOI Education is on WhatsApp now. YouTube's new AI age verification system: What to do if you are wrongly flagged as a minor
YouTube is all set to roll out an all-new artificial intelligence-based age verification system in the United States on Wednesday, August 13. The innovative system will utilize AI to identify individuals who are below the age of 18. This would be done based on the kinds of videos that these users have been watching on the video-sharing platform, The Associated Press reported. YouTube's new AI-powered age verification system will come into effect in the US on August 13.(Unsplash) The key idea behind this concept is to protect the young audiences and restrict them from getting exposed to content, which could be inappropriate for them. What to expect from YouTube's AI-powered age verification system? Initially, the tests will be conducted on a small amount of YouTube's audience in the US. It will eventually become more pervasive when the concept starts working at par with how it performs in other cities around the world. The new system will only remain effective when the viewers are logged into their accounts on YouTube. It will assess viewers' age regardless of their date of birth, which people enter at the time of sign up. Once a logged-in user is flagged as under the age of 18 by the new AI-powered system, in such cases YouTube will automatically enforce its controls and restrictions that the platform has been using since a long time to prevent minors from watching things deemed inappropriate for their age. The Google-owned platform does not showcase advertisements to individual tastes when the person is under the age of 18. What if YouTube inaccurately identifies a person as minor? In cases where the viewers might have been incorrectly called out as a minor, the user can still get this mistake rectified. For this, people will be required to show their government-approved IDs, a credit card or a selfie, according to The Associated Press. In a July 29 blog post, YouTube's director of product management, James Beser, said it was one of the first platforms that offers "experiences designed specifically for young people, and we're proud to again be at the forefront of introducing technology that allows us to deliver safety protections while preserving teen privacy'. Also Read: Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak calls out YouTube over rampant scam videos While people can continue watching videos on YouTube without logging into their accounts, this will automatically block some content, since there is no age proof. FAQs When does YouTube's AI-powered age verification system come into effect? It will get underway on Wednesday, August 13. Who all will be affected by it? Initially, this is being targeted upon a sliver of YouTube's audience in the US. What to do if YouTube incorrectly identifies me as under 18? You can rectify the error by showing your government-approved IDs to YouTube.
