Parents' mountain of a mission in aid of Cilcain school
The Three Peaks Challenge, taking place on June 20-21, will see the team start at Ben Nevis in Scotland at 4pm, followed by Scafell Pike in the Lake District, and finishing with a final push up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in North Wales - all in one whirlwind day.

The challenge involves about 13 hours of hiking and 11 hours of driving between peaks - a gruelling test of stamina, teamwork, and determination.
"We're so proud of the parents taking on this challenge for Ysgol Y Foel," said Emma O'Neil, headteacher at Ysgol Y Foel. "Our children love being outdoors, and new play equipment would make such a difference to their school experience. We're incredibly grateful for the support and the fundraising efforts - we'll be cheering them on every step of the way!"

The fundraising is part of a wider effort by the school's PTA to enhance outdoor learning and play spaces, which are currently in desperate need of improvement.
Hannah Mitchel, chair of Ysgol Y Foel PTA, added: "Outdoor play is so important for children's physical and mental wellbeing. We're blown away by the commitment of these parents - it's a massive undertaking. Every donation, big or small, helps us get closer to making this vision a reality for the children of Ysgol Y Foel."
The team have just six weeks left of training before they take on the challenge. They're hoping for good weather, safe travels - and plenty of snacks!

Wrexham dad takes on marathon mission for Hope House
For his next challenge, Matt Jones, from Wrexham, will be power hiking 26 marathons consecutively in 26 days, from John O'Groats to London with the fridge freezer on his back, finishing with the London Marathon itself on April 26, 2026. Matt's last challenge called 'One Bet' saw him complete a 112km walk across the Clwydian Range with the fridge, including 15,000ft of elevation gain, to honour a bet he made with his late wife Vicky and their four children. Highlighting her mantra of "never be normal, never be boring", and setting a positive example to his children drove Matt to raising an incredible £75,000 for Hope House Tŷ Gobaith. Announcing the new challenge, Matt said: "This isn't just a stunt - it's a tribute from me and children to Vicky. "It's about strength in the face of loss. It's about the families supported by Hope House. "It's a reminder that with the right team, the right cause, and a bit of madness - anything is possible." He added: "Doing the Llangollen challenge genuinely helped me a lot. But after our visit to Hope House, we were inspired to do something else. "I popped a message in a WhatsApp chat I have with my support crew and the idea of going from Llangollen to London for the Marathon came up. "The guys humoured me, saying it wasn't far enough, and all downhill to the Capital. "My brother-in-law, Simon, worked it out that the distance is exactly that of 26 marathons - so there it was. "Coming back from visiting Hope House with the kids, we spoke about it and stopped the car. I asked them, 'are we going to do this?' and the answer was a resounding 'yes'." "But, with the support of my crew and The Wolfpack (my children) I know we can do it. "The training plan has started. Prince George walks hand in hand Charlotte and Louis in behind-the-scenes birthday video
Prince George walks hand in hand with his siblings in a never-before seen video shared by the Prince and Princess of Wales to mark his 12th birthday. The clip, shared on William and Kate's social media pages, comes after they also shared a brand new snap of their eldest son for his birthday today. The video shows George posing for photographer Josh Shinner for the birthday photo as well as playing with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis and the trio walking hand-in-hand together. The video was released just over an hour after the photo, which shows George outdoors, smiling and leaning on a rustic wooden gate, wearing a checked shirt, gilet and a friendship bracelet on his left wrist. The picture was taken earlier this year in Norfolk by photographer Josh Shinner, who also took a recent birthday portrait of Prince Louis. The new picture, which was was accompanied by the message: "Happy 12th Birthday to Prince George!" followed by a cake emoji, comes as George and his siblings Princess Charlotte and Louis are enjoying the long summer break from school alongside their parents, who are also on their summer break from royal duties. He was christened George Alexander Louis at the Chapel Royal at St James' Palace with his godparents including his father's cousin Zara Tindall, the wealthy landowner the Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, and his late grandmother Princess Diana's friend, Julia Samuel.
