We're artfully draped in sarongs, in tent shaped cover-ups or doing that frantic towel dance by the pool in a bid to stay incognito. Because let's be honest, hauling last summer's swimwear from the bottom drawer rarely feels good. That magical tummy control? Stretched beyond salvation. The 'statement colour'? More like a fading memory, now tinged with SPF smears and fake tan mishaps. Then comes the dreaded try-on. You catch a glimpse in the mirror and bam - any flicker of body confidence evaporates faster than your iced rosé in a midday heatwave. But here's the thing, it's not just you. We've all had the mirror moment. We've all sworn under our breath in badly lit changing rooms. And we've all wished, more than once, that swimwear came with built-in courage. But those dreams could become a reality. Whilst on the search for swimwear this year, I turned my attention to TikTok which, like it or not, is a good barometer for consumer style reviews. The first one I stumbled-scrolled upon was a brand called Cupshe. A top selling American swimwear brand that does ship to the UK and is available on Amazon. So far, so good. Primark drops brand new collection of bikinis in gingham, floral and colour block designs - and they'll set you back just £2.50 per piece Cupshe is a brand that on the surface sounds like every other swimwear brand with words like 'empower', 'inspire' and 'support'. But the brand's Slim & Sculpt swimsuit caught my eye. A viral clip racking up millions of views featuring three women, all different in shapes and sizes, slip into the same figure-loving cossie. The secret? A corset-style lace-up back that cinches in all the right places, giving each of them an envy-inducing hourglass shape. In the comments section one fan of the swimwear gushed: 'These make you feel SO confident – and that speaks volumes!' Another said: 'Just got mine and I can't believe how good it looks.' I'm immediately sold - but I need to see it in the flesh. Available for £27.99 on Amazon in six different colours, I recruited size 14, make-up artist and mum-of-one Michelle Court, 41, from Rochford, Essex, to test out this miracle swimsuit. 'Every time it comes to going on holiday I get a new cossie,' says Michelle. 'I used to be a bikini Queen and never think of pulling on a one-piece, but after a baby my confidence to show off my body has dwindled. 'These days I love a swimsuit for holding everything in. 'When I'm looking for my new holiday swimsuit I always try to hunt for one with a really good shape that flatters my figure, doesn't dig in too much and one that keeps everything in its place.' Medium is the corresponding Cupshe size for Michelle's UK dress size but out of the packet, the cossie looks rather small. We both agree it might be a struggle to get it on. But two minutes later Michelle is out of the dressing room in the red lycra number and looks like she's ready to run in slow motion down the beach. So far, so Baywatch. 5 The secret? 'It's like I've been on weight loss injections!' She was right, this swimsuit completely showcased her figure - and not a fat jab in sight. I was dubious as to whether swimwear can really be that transformative but from seeing Michelle in a thousand-wash beige costume that had zero bust support or elasticity, the change was undeniable. She said: 'It really does hold you in, like, cinches in everywhere - not like that old one from the loft.' 'Its got amazing bust support, it feels like someone has just come in behind me and lifted me - and lifted everything. 'I feel way more confident than I do in my usual costumes.' Made from 92 per cent polyester and 8 per cent Spandex the swimming costume does the nipping and tucking with its fabric, but the real magic comes from the corsetry at the back. You can tie it as loosely or as tight as you like to take inches off your waist and it really, really works. And at the back the suit also gives great bum coverage, unlike many high street swimsuits that are barely bigger than a thong at the back. Michelle said: 'Honestly, I love it. Joe said: "Stacey likes to travel with a craft box so the kids can stick out things together and do a bit of drawing. "But we also like to do things with the younger ones, Belle and Rose. Rex not so much now as he's a bit older and he can swim really well, but we make sure we get the armbands for swimming properly. "You can go on holiday and then it's a nightmare if you can't get the right ones. We always want to make sure they have the right swimming equipment so they're safe before we go, so we know that box is ticked." Joe revealed the family are weighing up where to go – but that decision is out of his hands and will be down to the kids. And as summer approaches, Joe has teamed up with Jammie Dodgers, to unveil a limited-edition Super Soaker made in collaboration with Nerf, which has been created to inspire kids to get outside in the sun, and 100 are up being given away every day until 31 July. 'We're always trying to get the kids out into the garden and we're chucking water at each other so it's right up my street. 'I usually come out on top because I can carry the most water.' Discussing his collaboration with the biscuit brand Joe said: 'Jammie Dodgers have been in my family for years - I grew up with them, they were something my mum used to buy and it's something our kids love having as well.' He also revealed his and Stacey's plans to turn their Pickle Cottage to Animal Farm – by getting in goats, pigs and other farmyard animals. The 43-year-old former EastEnders star and his wife have been busy with home and garden improvements to their Essex abode, with one of the latest additions including a beehive. But not settling there, Joe opened the door for the possibility of more animals joining their growing family, which already includes dogs, ducks and fish. 'We had more chickens arrive the other day and I've heard rumours there might be rabbits on the way. 'There's always something new. I wouldn't be surprised if a goat popped up, or a pig. I feel like we're at that stage now.' The first bits of honey were extracted from their beehive recently, and so far, none of the family has been stung – although their dog Peanut did get nipped. 'I think he might have got a bit too close the other day, but he won't be doing that again,' Joe said. Joe and Stacey's interest in becoming more sustainable has spilled over into growing more fruit and vegetables and is something the whole family take part in. Growing fruit and veg in the garden has provided the perfect learning experience for their young children Rex, five, Rose, three, and Belle, two, to learn about where food comes from. Joe said: 'The question is what Stacey isn't growing, that would be easier to answer. Jess, who posts under the username @ started selling items from wardrobe after an epic body transformation. As none of the old clothes no longer fit her, she decided to sell them online - before realising she had ''the bug for reselling''. Reselling involves purchasing products from various sources , such as manufacturers, liquidators, individuals and charity shops, and then selling them at a higher price to generate profit. Resellers determine a price that covers their costs, for instance, the purchase price of the product and any shipping costs, and allows them to make a profit. They then sell these products through various channels, including Amazon, eBay, Etsy and Vinted. ''It started off small and I scaled it from there,'' said Jess who moved from her ''items to charity shops to wholesale''. As well as flogging the goods on Vinted, eBay and Depop, Jess also uses a little-known site to cash in - Whatnot. The ''vintage clothing reseller'' explained: ''Whatnot is a live auction selling website. ''They have an app [...] and it's a really, really nice platform with lovely people and lots of sellers, and lots of buyers. I've made £18k on Vinted & a hack means I don't have to hunt for bits I've sold ''What I will do is I will get all my items ready and I will show those items on the screen and then people will bid if they want to buy that item.'' According to Jess, you can start at different prices, such as £1, £3 and £5 - which is ''entirely up to you''. The site - where you can also feature the products front-and-center rather than showing your faces - also offers pre-paid shipping labels. Once you've made a sale, slap the label on the box and send it out for delivery. Do I need to pay tax on my side hustle income? MANY people feeling strapped for cash are boosting their bank balance with a side hustle. The good news is, there are plenty of simple ways to earn some additional income - but you need to know the rules. When you're employed the company you work for takes the tax from your earnings and pays HMRC so you don't have to. But anyone earning extra cash, for example from selling things online or dog walking, may have to do it themselves. Stephen Moor, head of employment at law firm Ashfords, said: "Caution should be taken if you're earning an additional income, as this is likely to be taxable. "The side hustle could be treated as taxable trading income, which can include providing services or selling products." You can make a gross income of up to £1,000 a year tax-free via the trading allowance, but over this and you'll usually need to pay tax. Stephen added: "You need to register for a self-assessment at HMRC to ensure you are paying the correct amount of tax. "The applicable tax bands and the amount of tax you need to pay will depend on your income." If you fail to file a tax return you could end up with a surprise bill from HMRC later on asking you to pay the tax you owe - plus extra fees on top. According to Whatnot, 48-72 hours after the order is delivered, you can cash out via direct deposit. It doesn't have to be just clothing you're tying to cash in from - the sellers flog electronics, collectibles, beauty, live plants, and more. Raving about the little-known site, Jess said in a video: ''I personally kind of think it kind of has revolutionised the way we resell things. ''The thing I love the most about it is that when I get my stock in, I can show it on the screen [...] and then you buy it. ''I post it out within a couple of days - so it really stops that whole issue of having to store items for a really, really long time.'' While there are plenty of pros, Jess also noted the platform does have its cons, such as the fees. Seller fees are as follows: 8% commission on the sold price of an item when it sells 2.9% + 30 cents (24p) payment processing fee for the entire transaction Payment processing applies to the subtotal, tax, and shipping price paid by a buyer for a given order The payment processing fee is not currently applied to any international shipping/taxes. ''But with a lot of reseller websites, there are fees anyway. ''The other cons can be the price points - you might not always get the same prices you would on things like eBay, Depop and Vinted.'' Jess also added under another video that she's ''registered as a sole trader and will pay tax during the self assessment window''.
