It was Zheng's third straight first-round exit at Wimbledon.
Siniakova is a three-time doubles champion at the All England Club, including winning last year alongside Taylor Townsend.
Siniakova has won 10 major doubles titles — seven with Barbora Krejcikova, two with Townsend, and one with Coco Gauff at last year's French Open.
Krejcikova got her Wimbledon singles title defense off to a winning start Tuesday.
Siniakova will face four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka in the second round.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The University of Pennsylvania has agreed to ban transgender women from its women's sports teams to resolve a federal civil rights case that found the school violated the rights of female athletes. The U.S. Education Department announced the voluntary agreement Tuesday. The case focused on Lia Thomas, the transgender swimmer who last competed for the Ivy League school in Philadelphia in 2022, when she became the first openly transgender athlete to win a Division I title. It's part of the Trump administration's broader attempt to remove transgender athletes from girls' and women's sports. Under the agreement, Penn agreed to restore all individual Division I swimming records and titles to female athletes who lost out to Thomas, the Education Department said. Penn also agreed to send a personalized apology letter to each of those swimmers. It wasn't immediately clear whether Thomas would be stripped of her awards and honors at Penn. The university must also announce that it 'will not allow males to compete in female athletic programs' and it must adopt 'biology-based' definitions of male and female, the department said. Education Secretary Linda McMahon called it a victory for women and girls. 'The Department commends UPenn for rectifying its past harms against women and girls, and we will continue to fight relentlessly to restore Title IX's proper application and enforce it to the fullest extent of the law,' McMahon said in a statement. The Education Department opened its investigation in February and concluded in April that Penn had violated Title IX, a 1972 law forbidding sex discrimination in education. Such findings have almost always been resolved through voluntary agreements. If Penn had fought the finding, the department could have moved to refer the case to the Justice Department or pursued a separate process to cut the school's federal funding. In February, the Education Department asked the NCAA and the National Federation of State High School Associations, or NFSHSA, to restore titles, awards and records it says have been 'misappropriated by biological males competing in female categories.' The most obvious target at the college level was in women's swimming, where Thomas won the national title in the 500-yard freestyle in 2022. The NCAA has updated its record books when recruiting and other violations have stripped titles from certain schools, but the organization, like the NFSHSA, has not responded to the federal government's request. Lee Westwood qualifies for British Open, his first major since joining LIV
IRVINE, Scotland (AP) — Lee Westwood had rounds of 70-67 at Dundonald Links to earn his way into the British Open, his first major since the former world No. 1 joined Saudi-funded LIV Golf three years ago. Westwood was among 20 players who earned their places at Royal Portrush through Final Regional Qualifying, held over four courses in England and Scotland, each awarding five spots. He was among three LIV players from the 15 who showed up for qualifiers. Westwood, a 52-year-old from England with 25 titles on the European tour and three Order of Merit titles, led the five qualifiers at Dundonald at 7-under 137. 'I've always said it's the greatest championship in golf and as a British player you get phenomenal support,' Westwood said. 'I'm just looking forward to enjoying the week at Portrush, seeing a few old friends and enjoying that golf course.' The Open is July 17-20 at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland, where Shane Lowry won in 2019. Westwood was one shot out of the lead through 36 holes before tying for fourth, nine shots behind Lowry. Toronto cuts high-priced wingers Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi
TORONTO (AP) — Major League Soccer's Toronto FC cut its two-highest paid players, announcing mutual agreements Tuesday to terminate the contracts of wingers Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi. Insigne, MLS's highest-paid player until Miami signed Lionel Messi in 2023, had guaranteed compensation of $15.4 million. second to Messi. Bernardeschi was sixth in the league at $6,295,381 and their combined salaries were 64% of Toronto's $34.1 million payroll, second to Miami's $46.8 million.
