Global Village, the region's premier multicultural family destination for entertainment, dining, shopping and attractions, is honouring the traditions of Ramadan with its new experience 'Multaqa Global Village', a concept designed to bring family and friends together in the spirit of the Holy Month.
The new experience is being introduced for the first time in Season 29.
As part of the destination's Home of Ramadan Wonders, aligned with the #RamadanInDubai emirate-wide campaign and the UAE's 'Year of Community' initiative, Multaqa Global Village embraces the essence of community. It offers a free-of-charge majlis-style seating area, where guests can come together to enjoy a delectable meal in a cosy, welcoming setting that defines their Ramadan nights. They can connect, socialise, share meals, and reminisce over nostalgic traditional games, cherished during this special time of year.
Merging comfort and tradition, Multaqa Global Village is more than a seating area. Beautifully nestled in the heart of the park between the Main Stage and the Dragon Lake, it features comfortable floor cushions, elegant low tables and twinkling festoon lights that create a warm atmosphere. With open archways that frame breathtaking views of the destination, guests can experience the Ramadan-special fireworks, illuminating the sky every Friday and Saturday at 10:00PM, adding a touch of splendour to their Ramadan nights.
At Multaqa Global Village, guests have the option to bring in food from the destination's 250+ dining options and gather for a shared meal of suhoor, iftar or in-between snacks. They can savour delicious selections and take to Multaqa Global Village from the park's restaurants, cafes or key street food experiences, offered at the Fiesta Street, the Railway Market, the Floating Market, the Happiness Street and the Indian Chaat Bazaar. Guests can also choose from an array of bites available at Multaqa Global Village's food carts offering Arabic coffee, along with a variety of treats to elevate the experience.
Alongside the experience of Multaqa Global Village, many restaurants and cafés across the park are offering special Iftar set menus, featuring diverse cuisines from around the world.
These include a variety of Middle Eastern and Turkish cuisines at Tahounat Beirut, Naseem Beirut, Al Romansiah, The Taksim Palace and Galata Turkish, each offering special Iftar set menus of soups, salads, appetisers, grills, traditional main courses and desserts. Naseem Beirut provides a kids' menu, ensuring younger guests can enjoy their Iftar experience.
As a key highlight on the Dubai Calendar of Events, Global Village continues its tradition of unveiling new experiences each Ramadan, enriching the Holy Month's essence of connection, reflection and shared moments.

Makkah spending up 162pc during Ramadan: Visa reports

Saudi Arabia's Holy Cities emerged as Ramadan's top economic performers, according to Visa's Travel Pulse Q1 2025, which reveals a 162% surge in visitor spend on Visa cards in Makkah during the Holy Month. The report highlights the growing role of religious tourism in supporting the Kingdom's non-oil economy, a key pillar of The Kingdom Vision 2030. From February 28 to March 30, Makkah and Madinah significantly outpaced Riyadh and Jeddah, reflecting the Holy Cities' draw of religious travel during Ramadan. In Makkah alone, average spend per visitor climbed to $449, up from $356 during the rest of the year. Madinah followed with a 64% increase in visitor spend. 'Beyond their religious significance Makkah and Madinah are also engines of economic growth,' said Ali Bailoun, Visa's Regional GM for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman. 'Our Travel Pulse data reveals that religious tourism is driving economic activity in Saudi Arabia and provides local businesses with unique insights into shopping behaviors and visitor profiles during the Holy Month.' 48% of all Ramadan visitors came from the GCC, with the UAE leading the charge: Growth also came from other regions: Kazakhstan (64%), South Africa (56%), and Egypt (19%) posted the highest increases in traveler numbers. Spending Patterns Reflect Ramadan's Rhythm Dining (27%), retail (25%) and fashion (10%) were the top spend categories. Activity peaked after Iftar, with most visitors heading to malls and restaurants. The second half of Ramadan saw higher transaction volumes, leading into Eid. Bailoun added: 'For merchants in Saudi Arabia, there's a real opportunity to reimagine how they engage with religious travelers. By extending hours during peak post-iftar times, embracing digital payments, and curating offerings that resonate with GCC and emerging market visitors, they can help turn their journey into a seamless experience—while contributing to the Kingdom's digital commerce agenda.'

Dubai's Global Village Announces Extension of Season 29

Sad to see one of your favourite destinations wrapping up for the summer? The good news is that Dubai's Global Village, one of the UAE's top family attractions, has announced a one-week extension of Season 29. Visitors can still head over to the tourist hotspot as the shopping destination extended its closing date to May 18 in an announcement on Sunday. The iconic tourist spot was previously set to close its gates on May 11. The destination will operate until May 18 from 4pm to 1am every day. Recently announced offers will continue to be available until the season's closure. These include the 'Kids Go Free' offer, allowing children under 12 to enter the park free of charge, as well as the 'Carnaval offer', providing a selection of unlimited rides in the Carnaval area for just Dh50, and the 'Golden Bar Challenge', where participants have the chance to win Dh2,900 in cash by lifting a golden bar from a box — part of a total prize pool of Dh87,000. Before season ends, 250 dining options are still available to explore, some of which are only available at Global Village. These include a number of savoury delicacies and sweet treats, made of mouthwatering flavours and with a unique presentation. Global Village announced that fireworks displays will light up the skies to celebrate the grand finale next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This is not the first time Global Village has extended its season. Last year, the attraction announced the extension of season 28 from April 28 to May 5. Few days later it announced a further extension to May 8 due to high demand. It had also increased its operating hours during the extension period to cater to the high demand. Meanwhile, in 2022, Global Village extended its 26th season from April 10 to May 7. As the season draws to a close, Global Village is wrapping up with a range of exciting new additions and experiences. This year, the park has expanded its offerings to include more cultural showcases, new entertainment acts, and upgraded infrastructure — all aimed at enhancing the visitor experience. It had also lined up a series of stunning acts and performances as Global Village was set to close by Sunday. Also read: UAE Offers Free Entry to Museums in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah for Visitors
