Michael Pitt, an actor known for roles in 'Boardwalk Empire' and 'Dawson's Creek,' has been arrested in New York City on charges of alleged sexual abuse.

He was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, counts of a criminal sexual act in the first and third degree, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of attempted assault and one count of strangulation in the second degree. The New York Post, which first broke the news of Pitt's arrest, reported that the charges stem from an ex-girlfriend. The indictment alleges that, between April 2020 and August 2021, Pitt subjected her to sexual contact by means of forcible compulsion, engaged in oral sex with her without consent, attacked her with a four-by-four piece of wood and cinderblock and 'applied pressure on the throat or neck' causing 'stupor, loss of consciousness or other physical injury.'
Jason Goldman, an attorney for Pitt, told Variety in a statement: 'Unfortunately, we live in a world where somebody like Mr. Pitt — an accomplished professional who would never so much as contemplate these crimes — can be arrested on the uncorroborated word of an unhinged individual. In reality, this baseless claim is suspiciously raised some four or five years after the alleged incident, at a time when the two parties were in a completely consensual and voluntary relationship. This case will be dismissed.'
Pitt has had a previous run-in with the law, occurring after the alleged sexual abuse. In July 2022, he was arrested and charged with assault and petty larceny after striking another man several times and taking his phone. That September, he was hospitalized after being accused of throwing items at people from a rooftop.
The actor has most recently been working in film, starring in three projects in 2023: the thriller 'Asphalt City,' crime drama 'Reptile' and boxing film 'Day of the Fight.'

'RHOBH' Erika Jayne's Ex-Husband Tom Girardi Bags 7 Years In Jail For 2024 Guilty Verdict
Tom Girardi, the estranged husband of Erika Jayne, has finally been sentenced for his involvement in an embezzlement scheme. The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star's former beau got the full weight of justice's hammer despite his age and health problems. He was sentenced in a Los Angeles court nearly a year after his guilty verdict. Although Tom Girardi's crimes occurred during his marriage to Erika Jayne, the Bravolebrity escaped the legal drama after initially being named in a lawsuit. The victims of her estranged husband's fraud suspected she was involved in the get-rich scheme, but they eventually dropped their case against her. Girardi may never see the light beyond his prison walls again after bagging seven years in federal prison for his crimes. At 86, that means he may spend the rest of his life behind bars, but the court believes this is a fair price to pay given his years-long embezzlement. U.S. District Judge Josephine Staton did not stop at the 7-year punishment, slamming Girardi with a $35,000 fine and ordering him to pay over $2.3 million in restitution. The former attorney and co-founder of the now-defunct Girardi & Keese was found guilty of stealing from his clients. Prosecutors accused him of embezzling $15 million from his clients over a decade-long period, including the $3 million settlement cash linked to the 2018 Lion Air crash. Additionally, TMZ noted he was slammed for stealing up to $25 million from his law firm to fund Jayne's career in the entertainment industry. During his trial, Girardi maintained his innocence and blamed the missing funds on his former chief financial officer, Christopher Kamon. However, the latter pleaded guilty to only participating in the crime and did not label himself the mastermind. Kamon acknowledged his faults, accepting the guilty verdict for two counts of wire fraud in 2024. He received a 121-month sentence in federal prison for his involvement in the embezzlement scheme. Unlike Kamon, Girardi initially attempted to escape trial using his failing health The Blast covered the story, reporting that the former attorney's legal rep argued that the embezzlement happened amid his battle with dementia. The lawyer stressed that Girardi was innocent as he was ignorant of the crime given his mental state, but the court ruled otherwise. Contrary to Girardi's expectations, he was deemed medically fit to stand trial despite his failing health plea. He attempted to sway the jury during his testimony, claiming that "every client got every penny that every client was supposed to get." Unfortunately, his words did not move them, and he was found guilty of embezzling more than $15 million from former clients. The charges against him first surfaced in December 2020, a month after his then-wife Jayne filed to end their marriage after 21 years. It appeared she was cutting Girardi loose before his legal troubles began, but her actions did not stop victims from naming her in a lawsuit. The allegations implied she knew of her partner's embezzlement; however, she escaped prosecution as her involvement could not be proven. Last November, Jayne addressed the end of her marriage to Girardi in a candid interview with Bravo producer Alex Baskin. During her appearance on the network's "Hot Mic" podcast, she got emotional while recalling the highs and lows of her relationship. According to Jayne, despite her then-husband's faults, he always wished for her success. She noted it was Girardi who encouraged her to become a Housewife, claiming, "Tom told me, and I quote, 'They're doing more for you than you could ever do for them, sign it and return it.'" Although he was always supportive, things changed when Girardi "was on the decline." Jayne recalled his personality did a complete 180, and his focus went from being her biggest fan to almost resenting her. Eventually, they couldn't stop fighting, and she pulled the plug on their marriage. Jayne first met Girardi while working as a cocktail waitress at Beverly Hills' famous restaurant, Chasens. As a single mom, she was moved by the former attorney's kindness, describing him as "a good customer" and "a good tipper." The pair started off platonic for over a year before their relationship turned romantic after a minor hiccup. Jayne recalled giving Girardi her number around Christmas time one year, but he asked his secretary to schedule a dinner date on his behalf to her distaste. The TV personality claimed she turned down the dinner offer, allegedly telling the secretary: "If Mr. Girardi wants to take me out, he can call me in advance himself." Jayne noted he accepted her demands about a week later when he walked into the restaurant to ask her out on a date and the rest is history. How will Erika Jayne react to Tom Girardi's 7-year prison sentence?

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver offer differing takes on son's nude scene on ‘The White Lotus'
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver have shared their initial reactions to watching their son Patrick Schwarzenegger strip down on-camera for ' The White Lotus,' revealing starkly different perspectives. 'I couldn't believe (it). I said to myself, 'I'm watching your show, and I'm watching your butt sticking out there.' And all of a sudden, I see the weenie,' the former California governor candidly recalled during a joint appearance with his son on Variety's video series 'Actors on Actors,' released Tuesday, June 3. 'What is going on here? This is crazy.' Patrick's full-frontal nude scene was part of his role as Saxon Ratliff on the HBO show's third season. While his father emphasized his initial shock at the scene, which he watched during an advance screening ahead of its premiere, his mother shared during separate interviews that she was unfazed. "People are like, 'Oh my God, you saw!' (and) I'm like, 'I gave birth to him,'" Shriver said during a Tuesday appearance on 'The Jamie Kern Lima Show.' "I've seen him naked since he was a baby." The former journalist, who was married to Arnold for 25 years, previously told People Magazine that she didn't even notice the nudity when she first watched the episode. "I'm just looking at him and his craft really," she said Tuesday, noting she only realized after her other children —Patrick's siblings Kathernine, Christina and Christopher — pointed it out. Though Arnold was appalled at first, he said that he quickly came to the same conclusion as his ex-wife, and acknowledged that his son was simply following in his own footsteps. 'I said to myself, 'Well, Arnold, hello. You did the same thing in 'Conan' and 'Terminator,' so don't complain about it,'' he said, referring to his own nude scenes. By the time Patrick's racy scene on 'The White Lotus' aired, Arnold had made his peace with it and even trolled him on social media, joking that 'the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.' During the father-son duo's recent 'Actors on Actors' interview, Arnold went on to speak with his son about nepotism and privilege within the industry, and how one rises above that. 'If you show you have the substance, you can get rid of the whole idea of nepotism,' Arnold said, directly addressing his son. 'You have never asked me to call a studio or to call an agent. You never asked me for advice when it comes to acting itself. You're a rare breed.' Shriver expressed a similar sense of pride toward her son. "I think people, when they see somebody in a show like that, they don't realize how much leads up to that moment,' she said. 'They don't realize how hard he's worked or how many roles he hasn't gotten."

Arnold Schwarzenegger praises son Patrick Schwarzenegger's 'White Lotus' performance
Arnold Schwarzenegger is proud of his son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, following his performance in " The White Lotus." The father-son duo, who were featured in Variety's"Actors on Actors" issue, talked about acting and more, including Patrick Schwarzenegger's most recent role in season 3 of "The White Lotus." "Everyone is coming up to me in the gym and saying, 'Your son is fantastic,'" Arnold Schwarzenegger said. "Someone else comes up to me and says, 'I hated your son in the series.'" Patrick Schwarzenegger shares sweet video revealing 'White Lotus' role to his family "The Terminator" continued, saying, "Hated him? What kind of compliment is that? They said, 'He was fantastic, but the character he played was so believable.'" Patrick Schwarzenegger replied and said, following "The White Lotus," his biggest learning experience was "how much people associate you with your character." "The first weeks, people came up to me and told me how much they hated me," he said. "By the end of it, they came up to me saying how much they felt bad for me. It was a roller coaster." Arnold Schwarzenegger went on to tell his son that he was "blown away" by his performance in the hit HBO Max show. "Your acting surprised the hell out of me," he told his son. "I didn't recognize you." Patrick Schwarzenegger replied and spoke about how it's been "surreal" for him. The duo drew a parallel between their acting journeys and realized they both had done nude scenes. Arnold Schwarzenegger recalled doing the opening scene in "The Terminator" naked, and his son mentioned a scene from "The White Lotus" too. "It was a shock to me that you were following my footsteps so closely," Arnold Schwarzenegger joked. Before "The White Lotus," Patrick Schwarzenegger told his dad about what it meant to him to carry the famous Schwarzenegger name. He previously opened up to a magazine about how the name could be an "obstacle." Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood join 'The White Lotus' season 3: Meet the cast He told his dad, "I feel it in multiple ways. Mike White said that it comes with baggage, the idea that when you have successful parents like I do with you and Mom, there's an added level of what other people think. Mike was worried about, if he cast me, what other people would think. Which they did -- they did care about that; people said I got the role because of you and Mom." "There were times earlier in my career where I was wondering, does it make sense to go under an alias?" he added. "It took a while for me to get to a point where I was less worried about living in your shadow versus wanting to do it the way I thought I should do it. " Arnold Schwarzenegger replied and said, "I'm glad you kept the name, because now I can take credit. My son -- the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."
