Jeremy Bobb, Anthony Carrigan, and others roped in for 'The Stalemate'
"The Continental" actor has joined the star cast of the upcoming comedy film, titled "The Stalemate". Alongside Bobb, actors (The Blacklist), Paul Sparks (House of Cards), Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire), Giorgia Whigham (13 Reasons Why) and Tony Hale (Veep), have boarded the project, according to the entertainment news outlet Deadline. Stephen shared a rare insight into his relationship with his wife Hannah Walters in an interview with GQ, revealing that she reads scripts first for him because he is dyslexic, stating they have a 'great little partnership'. The actor added: 'She's me best mate for one,' adding: 'She's funny as f***. I find her dead saucy. She's amazing. She's the light of my life. Do you know what I mean? We're a great little partnership. It really works.' Stephen also shared some advice that he swears by when raising children, which he said stems from not having the 'drive to be famous'. Stephen explained: 'I remember Alfie, when he was young, asking me to go and kick a ball about or whatever. And me going, 'I can't, just give me half an hour. I'm doing this.' "And as he turned and walked away, I kind of stopped and I looked and I seen his back [slumped], And I thought, Oh sh*t, wait a minute. I can do this any time. That mightn't happen again. So what I would say is: always make time. No matter how busy you are, make time, because that opportunity may never come back again." While Stephen is an undeniably incredible actor, he discussed a time after filming This Is England when a casting director revealed that couldn't see him playing different roles. Stephen found himself without work for eight months and said: 'Couldn't get a job. Couldn't get a job, I was going to pack it in. I was going to stop. It's not like I carry it like a rock on my back,' [he says, but if there was an acting job, 'and you put Tommy from Snatch next to Combo from This Is England, you might think, Oh, have a look at this fella. He's quite good. He's versatile. But for some reason it didn't go that way.' Stephen has since played iconic roles in hard-hitting crime drama Boardwalk Empire, comedy series Code 404, 2018 drama Save Me / Save Me Too and 2025 series A Thousand Blows.

Chris Brown Arrested Over Violent Bottle-Smashing Incident In Britain: Reports
Singer Chris Brown was arrested in the U.K. early Thursday morning over an alleged attack on a producer that happened two years ago, according to TMZ and The Sun. The outlets report that the R&B artist was apprehended by London's Metropolitan Police on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. The arrest reportedly took place at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester around 2 a.m. local time, just hours after he had flown into town on his private jet. Brown was taken into custody over an incident that happened at London's Tape nightclub on Feb. 19, 2023, when he reportedly smashed music producer Abe Diaw on the head with a bottle. At the time of the incident, Diaw told The Sun that the 'Under the Influence' singer's assault was unprovoked. Diaw said Brown proceeded to punch and kick him while he was stuck on the floor after the initial blow to the head. Brown's representatives did not immediately return a HuffPost request for comment. The Grammy-winning singer is set to embark on a world tour next month and is currently scheduled to perform 10 dates in England. Brown has been accused of violent assault multiple times over the years, including a highly publicized 2009 incident with his then-girlfriend Rihanna. In 2014, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault for an incident in Washington, D.C. According to prosecutors, the singer admitted to punching a man in the face 'without provocation.' Last year, Brown was sued on behalf of four men who alleged he and members of his entourage 'brutally and severely beat' them backstage after a show in Fort Worth, Texas. At the time of the suit, Brown's representatives didn't respond to HuffPost's request for comment. Actor Michael Pitt Charged With Sex Abuse, Assault
Michael Pitt, best known for his role on the HBO series 'Boardwalk Empire,' is facing a number of sexual abuse charges. Bail has been set at $15,000, and his next court appearance is Pitt's lawyer, Cary London, said he already had exonerating evidence and expected the case to be dismissed. 'We look forward to proving his innocence through the evidence and not thru the media.' He added, 'In reality, this baseless claim is suspiciously raised some four or five years after the alleged incident, from a time when the two parties were in a completely consensual relationship.' The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office indictment, obtained by The Epoch Times, details each incident with the victim's name redacted. It is unclear from the documents alone whether there is a sole victim involved or if there are multiple individuals accusing Pitt of the crimes, or the nature of their relationship with him. The indictment also alleges Pitt attacked an individual with a cinder block twice in June 2021 and choked them in August 2021. ‘Boardwalk Empire' Star Michael Pitt Arrested on Sexual Abuse Charges
Michael Pitt, an actor known for roles in 'Boardwalk Empire' and 'Dawson's Creek,' has been arrested in New York City on charges of alleged sexual abuse. According to the indictment and court records obtained by Variety, Pitt was arrested and arraigned at Kings Supreme Criminal Court in Brooklyn on May 2 over four separate alleged incidents between April 2020 and August 2021. He was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, counts of a criminal sexual act in the first and third degree, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of attempted assault and one count of strangulation in the second degree. He pleaded not guilty to all charges, and according to TMZ, posted bail and was released from custody. His next court appearance is set for June 17. The indictment alleges that, between April 2020 and August 2021, Pitt subjected her to sexual contact by means of forcible compulsion, engaged in oral sex with her without consent, attacked her with a four-by-four piece of wood and cinderblock and 'applied pressure on the throat or neck' causing 'stupor, loss of consciousness or other physical injury.' Jason Goldman, an attorney for Pitt, told Variety in a statement: 'Unfortunately, we live in a world where somebody like Mr. Pitt — an accomplished professional who would never so much as contemplate these crimes — can be arrested on the uncorroborated word of an unhinged individual. In reality, this baseless claim is suspiciously raised some four or five years after the alleged incident, at a time when the two parties were in a completely consensual and voluntary relationship. This case will be dismissed.' Pitt has had a previous run-in with the law, occurring after the alleged sexual abuse. In July 2022, he was arrested and charged with assault and petty larceny after striking another man several times and taking his phone. That September, he was hospitalized after being accused of throwing items at people from a rooftop. The actor has most recently been working in film, starring in three projects in 2023: the thriller 'Asphalt City,' crime drama 'Reptile' and boxing film 'Day of the Fight.'
