‘E! News' Canceled After 32 Years on Air
The celebrity-focused newscast will continue airing new episodes until Sept. 25 on E!, which is spinning off from NBCUniversal and will be folded into the new, publicly traded company Versant (formerly known as SpinCo). The cancellation comes three years after 'E! News' returned from a two-year hiatus, after it was initially axed by E! in 2020. The series, originally a daytime program, returned as a late-night broadcast.

The decision to cancel the show is said to have come from the E! network, as it looks to leverage its brand of entertainment coverage and commentary across digital and social platforms. A source indicates that as news consumers demand real-time digital coverage, a broadcast during the 11 p.m. slot (which 'E! News' has occupied since 2022) no longer best serves the audience. E! boasts a growing digital presence with 87 million followers across social media platforms.
Thursday's broadcast of 'E! News' will be a repeat, but new episodes will resume next week. E! informed the roughly 20 employees at 'E! News' of the cancellation Thursday morning. Some 'E! News' linear correspondents are expected to transition over to Versant in yet-to-be-determined capacities.
E!, the linear network, continues to air original series including 'Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind' and 'Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour.' It recently announced upcoming series 'Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane' and 'E!'s Dirty Rotten Scandals.'
The network will also continue to have a presence on Hollywood red carpets with 'Live From E!' The Critics Choice Awards will air on E! on Jan. 4.

Twilight 's Nikki Reed Has Worn the Same Clothes Every Day for 15 Years
Originally appeared on E! Online Nikki Reed's sustainable fashion journey has been a saga all its own. The Twilight alum revealed her focus on extending the life of her clothes has impacted her style choices and, it seems, nearly eliminated her need to stress over what to wear. 'I wear the same clothes every day,' Nikki said on the July 28 episode of the The Art of Being Well With Dr. Will Cole podcast. 'I've got vintage pants on and they've got a bunch of holes. And if I were to turn around and show you my butt pockets, you would see that my mom helps me patch the back of them because I wear the same pants.' That fashion mindset encompasses her footwear, too. 'I'm wearing my same shoes right now that I've worn for 15 years,' Nikki added. 'I just got them resoled. I resole them every three years, because I wear the same shoes every day.' As she put it, 'We live in a culture of more and more and more. And I don't want more. I want less, but I want good.' The 37-year-old—who shares an 8-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son with husband Ian Somerhalder—also shared the considerations she makes when determining if an addition to her closet is 'good.' Online Tim McGraw Is Unrecognizable With Jaw-Dropping Hair Transformation James Van Der Beek Shares Difficult Update on Cancer Journey Olympian Laura Dahlmeier Dead at 31 After Climbing Accident Left Rescuers Unable to Reach Her 'I try to keep things for an entire lifetime,' she continued. 'Before I purchase anything at all, I think about where it's made, how it's made, and how long I'm going to wear it.' The BaYou with Love jewelry founder also noted that this focus on sustainability is her 'true passion,' and is actually one of the reasons she and Ian decided to leave their acting careers behind. 'I don't even often hear the word 'Hollywood' or 'actress' anymore at all in my orbit,' Nikki explained. 'It's just been so, so long. I really am a nature gal, an animal gal. I would much rather be barefoot walking through soil than in high heels anywhere.' Indeed, the Thirteen star has made it a point to be open about where the hell she's been, loca. 'I can't personally envision a life without that connection to plants and soil,' Nikki told E! News last May. 'In this day and age, we're getting closer and closer to falling into full tech worlds. No matter how hard we try to shelter our kids from that, we're growing up in the age of tech, and I think the only way to really combat that is through nature.' She added, 'Getting back into the rhythm of the earth and getting our kids outdoors in a world where we're all living indoors, in front of screens and blue light everywhere, we need some red light. We need some sun, we need some fresh air.' Read on for more stars who have left Hollywood for other pursuits. CM Punk Reveals Major WWE Regret
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. CM Punk has opened up about his legendary rivalry with John Cena, calling the 17-time world champion his "wrestling soulmate." In a new interview, Punk also expressed a measure of regret over his infamous 2014 departure from WWE, lamenting the matches with Cena that never happened. The two icons recently shared the ring one last time at the Night of Champions premium live event in June. Speaking with E! News, Punk reflected on the special chemistry he and his greatest rival shared. "My Wrestling Soulmate" Punk described his on-screen dynamic with John Cena as a "marriage that unfolded on screen that we both needed at the time." He noted the unique crowd reactions their matches and promos would generate. "He was the goody two-shoes, boy scout, good guy that a lot of places booed out of the building," Punk said. "Then I was this despicable... bad guy, and people seemed to love it." This dynamic was the foundation of their historic rivalry in 2011, which is now famously known as the "Summer of Punk." A Legendary Rivalry The feud between CM Punk and John Cena in 2011 is widely considered one of the greatest storylines in modern WWE history. It was ignited by Punk's now-legendary "Pipe Bomb" promo, where he blurred the lines between reality and fiction. The story culminated in a five-star classic at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, where Punk defeated Cena for the WWE Championship in his hometown of Chicago. ATLANTA, GEORGIA - JANUARY 27: CM Punk speaks during WWE Monday Night RAW at State Farm Arena on January 27, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia. WWE/Getty Images Their rivalry was built on a clash of ideologies: Punk as the anti-establishment "Voice of the Voiceless" and Cena as the ultimate company man. This created a special and unpredictable energy every time they were in the ring together. A Decade of "What Ifs" Punk's abrupt and acrimonious departure from WWE in January 2014 put an end to their rivalry. Now, over a decade later, he is reflecting on that decision. "There's a part of me in my head that regrets stepping out because of what more we could have done," Punk admitted. "But it makes it so much sweeter that I'm back now, and I was able to come in here and work with him one last time." With John Cena currently on his year-long farewell tour, their recent match at Night of Champions was the final chapter in their storied history. Punk concluded by saying it "means the world" to him to be back to witness Cena's "ride into the sunset," calling him "the ultimate top guy.
