‘E! News' Canceled After 32 Years on Air
The celebrity-focused newscast will continue airing new episodes until Sept. 25 on E!, which is spinning off from NBCUniversal and will be folded into the new, publicly traded company Versant (formerly known as SpinCo). The cancellation comes three years after 'E! News' returned from a two-year hiatus, after it was initially axed by E! in 2020. The series, originally a daytime program, returned as a late-night broadcast.

The decision to cancel the show is said to have come from the E! network, as it looks to leverage its brand of entertainment coverage and commentary across digital and social platforms. A source indicates that as news consumers demand real-time digital coverage, a broadcast during the 11 p.m. slot (which 'E! News' has occupied since 2022) no longer best serves the audience. E! boasts a growing digital presence with 87 million followers across social media platforms.
Thursday's broadcast of 'E! News' will be a repeat, but new episodes will resume next week. E! informed the roughly 20 employees at 'E! News' of the cancellation Thursday morning. Some 'E! News' linear correspondents are expected to transition over to Versant in yet-to-be-determined capacities.
E!, the linear network, continues to air original series including 'Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind' and 'Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour.' It recently announced upcoming series 'Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane' and 'E!'s Dirty Rotten Scandals.'
The network will also continue to have a presence on Hollywood red carpets with 'Live From E!' The Critics Choice Awards will air on E! on Jan. 4.

The Twilight alum revealed her focus on extending the life of her clothes has impacted her style choices and, it seems, nearly eliminated her need to stress over what to wear. 'I wear the same clothes every day,' Nikki said on the July 28 episode of the The Art of Being Well With Dr. Will Cole podcast. 'I've got vintage pants on and they've got a bunch of holes. And if I were to turn around and show you my butt pockets, you would see that my mom helps me patch the back of them because I wear the same pants.' That fashion mindset encompasses her footwear, too. 'I'm wearing my same shoes right now that I've worn for 15 years,' Nikki added. 'I just got them resoled. I resole them every three years, because I wear the same shoes every day.' As she put it, 'We live in a culture of more and more and more. And I don't want more. I want less, but I want good.' The 37-year-old—who shares an 8-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son with husband Ian Somerhalder—also shared the considerations she makes when determining if an addition to her closet is 'good.' 'Before I purchase anything at all, I think about where it's made, how it's made, and how long I'm going to wear it.' The BaYou with Love jewelry founder also noted that this focus on sustainability is her 'true passion,' and is actually one of the reasons she and Ian decided to leave their acting careers behind. 'I don't even often hear the word 'Hollywood' or 'actress' anymore at all in my orbit,' Nikki explained. 'It's just been so, so long. I really am a nature gal, an animal gal. I would much rather be barefoot walking through soil than in high heels anywhere.' Indeed, the Thirteen star has made it a point to be open about where the hell she's been, loca. 'I can't personally envision a life without that connection to plants and soil,' Nikki told E! News last May. 'In this day and age, we're getting closer and closer to falling into full tech worlds.
