‘One frame, four Namma Metro trains' footage goes viral
Namma Metro
Yellow Line is in the spotlight for linking city's tech corridor, one video has stolen the show by racking up lakhs of views and occupying the centre stage of Metro train-related discussion.
Shot by entrepreneur and Jayanagar resident Srihari Karanth, the aerial drone footage captures a breathtaking scene at the RV Road Interchange station, where two Yellow Line and two Green Line trains appear in the same frame, traversing two intersecting Metro corridors simultaneously. This rare and synchronised moment, captured by him after a two-hour wait, evoked positive comments from citizens and corporate honchos too.
Speaking to TOI, Karanth, who is also a drone content creator, said: "When I posted an aerial shot capturing the movement of four trains at the end of RV Road, I did not expect it to receive such a huge response. The video was widely appreciated by users across social media. I am truly delighted. "

When asked how he managed to spot the four trains for the perfect shot, Karanth said: "I reside two blocks away from the end of RV Road and have been closely observing the trains' movements for some time.
In the run-up to the Yellow Line's opening, BMRCL was operating pre-commissioning trial runs, and I filmed this before the launch. Spotting two trains on the Green Line is common, catching three — one from Yellow Line and two from Green Line — was rare.
Five days before the line opened, for two hours in the evening, I had drone in the air. Two batteries drained, but with the third, we finally captured the movement of four trains heading in different directions.
I feel I was lucky."
A Metro enthusiast, Karanth said the timing of posting the video also played a key role as Bengalureans were eagerly anticipating the opening of the Yellow Line.
RV Road Interchange is surrounded by lush green parks on either side of the road, and Yellow Line Metro traverses over Green Line Metro at the end of the road towards Ragigudda.
Biocon executive chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, reacting to the video footage on 'X', said: "Isn't that a beautiful shot dotting Bengaluru's urban mobility landscape with sustainable and green alternatives."
Karanth said: "During my free time, I spend time capturing aerial videos using drone. In the past, I documented the progress of Yellow Line work and also the trial run. Barring this, aerial shots of tech parks, Metro line operations on Green Line, and others received a good response from people."
In the past, stunning aerial shots of Shivanasamudra, tourist places in Tamil Nadu, and districts of Karnataka such as Chikkamagaluru and Udupi also went viral.

Over 350 flights delayed due to rains, traffic jams in Delhi
More than 350 flights were delayed at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Thursday after heavy morning rainfall triggered massive traffic jams across the National Capital Region, preventing both passengers and flight crew from reaching the airport. Even hours after the rain had stopped, gridlock on key roads left many unable to reach the airport in time, with several missing their flights altogether. Commuters wade through a waterlogged road after rainfall near AIIMS in New Delhi on Thursday.(PTI) Delhi airport authorities issued advisories urging travellers to opt for the Metro instead of road transport. The Metro's Magenta Line is connected to the airport Terminal 1 and the Airport Express Line (Orange) connects to Terminal 3. 'Heavy rainfall and waterlogging across the Delhi-National Capital Region since morning led to traffic jams on roads to and from the Delhi airport. Our on-ground teams are working diligently, with all stakeholders to ensure smooth journey of passengers. We recommend that passengers consider alternative modes of transportation, such as the Delhi Metro, to avoid potential delays,' the Delhi airport's post on X said. Data from the flight tracking website FlightRadar24 showed by 6pm, at least 377 flights were delayed – with an average delay time of 32 minutes. Passengers used social media to share their ordeal, stating cars remained stuck in traffic for several hours – in some cases longer than the actual flight journey. Among the flights delayed was also a Delhi to Bagdogra flight, after a crew member was unable to reach the airport. The flight eventually departed in the evening. 'A flight crew member got stuck in traffic. This was the only instance of a flight being delayed due to the staff. In other cases, flights were delayed due to the weather,' an airline official said. A passenger, Arun, posted on X that he was able to move only 2km in three hours. '3 hours for 2 km at Delhi Airport. Missed my domestic flight. @DelhiPolice — this isn't traffic management, it's a masterclass in incompetence. #DelhiAirport,' the post said. Dheeraj Gaur, another user, said he reached office after travelling 6.5km in 1.5 hours. 'The entire Thimayya Marg in the Delhi Cantonment area and the traffic signal outside Airforce Station Palam is choked. People are walking with luggage in hands to reach the airport on time,' said Gaur around 11.30am. 'I've been stuck at Palam Airport Road near Krishan temple for the last two hours. Delhi Traffic Police personnel are nowhere to be seen. It's total chaos here — vehicles are moving left, right and centre. One person was driving on the wrong side, too,' said another, at 1.04pm.

Complete Mum-Goa H'way before Ganeshotsav: Dy CM
Pune: All pending works on the Mumbai-Goa Highway must be completed on a war footing before Ganeshotsav to ensure seamless journey of devotees heading to Konkan, deputy chief minister said during a meeting on Wednesday. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Chairing a review meeting, which included officials from Konkan region and highway authorities, at Mantralaya, Pawar announced a Rs 21-crore provision for immediate road works near Indapur-Mangaon on the highway. He also told officials to form a state-level committee under public works minister Shivendraraje Bhosale to fast-track four-laning, repair works, bridge construction and installation of road safety measures. "During Ganeshotsav, thousands of people travel to their villages via this route. All agencies must coordinate for smooth management. Construction activities that were causing traffic congestion must be either expedited to complete before the festival or briefly halted during it. The district administrations of Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg should strictly plan traffic flow, inspect congestion-prone spots and ensure medical facilities and emergency systems must be made available along the highway, especially on ghat roads and sharp turns," Pawar said. PWD minister Bhosale, who had inspected the road ahead of the meeting, told TOI that the meeting has given directions and the committee will be formed and works carried out accordingly. The deputy CM said immediate action on pothole complaints must be taken and two special officers will be appointed to promptly fill dangerous potholes, with their contact numbers shared publicly to report issues. The plan includes installing directional signage, constructing bridges, setting up trauma care centres and building toilets at 40-km intervals along the route. Activist representatives, including Janakrosh Samiti chairperson Ajay Yadavrao, Baliraja Sena president Ashok Valam and Prakash Bhangrath, attended the meet via video conferencing.
