Integrated ticketing system at Samalpatti railway station to be inaugurated on May 22
A newly established Integrated Unreserved Ticketing System (IUTS) will be inaugurated at Samalpatti Railway Station in Krishnagiri district on May 22.
According to a release from the Salem Railway Division, the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) has ushered in a transformative era for railway infrastructure across the State, with numerous stations undergoing comprehensive redevelopment to enhance passenger experiences and regional connectivity. As part of this initiative, Samalpatti Railway Station in the Salem Division has been upgraded with modern amenities, including improved waiting areas, advanced ticketing systems, enhanced accessibility for differently-abled individuals, and eco-friendly infrastructure.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 103 redeveloped railway stations under the scheme, along with other projects, via video conferencing on May 22.
As part of ongoing efforts to improve passenger services, an IUTS counter will operate at Sambalpatti Railway Station. Passengers will be able to obtain both reserved and unreserved tickets from this counter. Reserved tickets will be issued from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., while unreserved tickets will be available around the clock, the release added.
